Negative reviews are not the problem.

I understand the point of view that if one doesn't have any experience with Flash, he/she has no right to instruct the person who made it on how to improve the project, as it is obviously very frustrating to the authors to be handed shit by somebody who barely knows what they are talking about.

However what you seem to be talking about, is if a person who never made a flash has no right to leave a bad review? I have seen some of your films, and I definitely can make my own judgement whether I liked them or not, even though I know as much about Flash or drawing as I do about Tom Fulp's anus, or care to know in particular. But I can very well able to give you constructive criticism based on the actual quality of content in the movie or amusement, as you like to refer it "obvious stuff". So basically, you are bitching about anyone who gives you a low score and negative remarks in their review? What the hell is the point of making a flash that you expect everyone to vote 10 on, just because you whined them into it? Besides, most films that deserve so, usually get their due's worth, and you shouldn't be surprised that crappy movies such as yours receive low scores and annoying long rants like this one. Anyways be thankful that you wasted my time into actually writing a modestly coherent review and not just jumbled a bunch of inept letters together like 90% of reviewers do on this site: "omg u fag u insluted linkin prak i iz so lyke gawna git u dawn i kno wer u lif tell me wer u lif so i clud cawm and fuk wid ur mawm."

A good message for all Newgrounds users.

First of all, I have not created any flash. I did try to create one, and I couldn't figure out how to do it, so I do have respect for the artists. However, I have seen enough flashes to get a good idea on which ones can be good or bad. In addition, I do follow the rules, and I review every part of the animation (based on the scoring system). So, to not act like a total hypocrite, here is my review...

Graphics - The graphics were simple, but good. Even though you used some graphics from previous animations (especially the introduction), they were still good.

Style - The style of the animation was decent. You did rip on reviewers who haven't created flash (even though you do have to try Flash to fully appreciate the hard work that goes into an animation). However, it was still decent overall.

Sound - The sound was good, and the Speakonia voices were done well.

Violence - There was no violence to speak of, but that wasn't needed in the animation.

Interactivity - Again, not needed. This was a movie, and the play button was enough.

Humor - There was a little bit of humor in here. However, it was just the right amount, and that was good.

Since there was no violence or interactivity in the animation, and since the animation didn't need them, they were left out of the overall score. Therefore, the graphics, style, sound, and humor ratings average out to 7.5, which rounds to 8.

P.S. Normally, I don't mention categories that aren't applicable to the animation, but I do cover all the categories that are applicable in my reviews. :)

Crap

The graphics are simple, but okay. The animation is simple, but smooth. My main gripe is that this is not entertaining in the slightest.

First of all, lose the robotic voices. They are really annoying and cannot achieve the full range of human emotion, thus they are terrible substitutes for real voice actors.

Secondly, the way you present your message is so boring. You point out the rules so slowly, with no funny comments.

Thirdly, most of the "points" you make are pretty stupid. The only one you hit on the head was that people should not be abusive to authors who submit works to NG. I agree with you there completely.

The rest of your argument is on shaky ground.

"You can't criticise authors if you can't use flash yourself".

You don't need to know flash to know when something isn't funny, interesting or thrilling. You don't need to know flash when something is crappily animated. You don't need to know flash to have an opinion on a flash.

"People who can't use flash can't be helpful in their reviews".

That must be why the site only allows people who've sent in submissions to review other author's work... Wait a tic! Everyone is allowed to review a submission. Why is that? I'll tell you.

People who don't know flash will still be able to help by pointing what is wrong, even if they don't know how to fix it.

On top of that, not all who criticise are inexperienced with flash. There are plenty of flash authors who would criticise your flash, and you should take advice from them when they give it.

By the way, if you're thinking of putting my screen name up in your author's comments for people to flag this review, know this: Flagging is not automatic. It alerts admins to a problem, and if they find one, they will deal with it. If you have people flag this, admins will find no problem with my review, and everyone of the idiots who flagged it will receive negative whistle points.

It's obvious a ton of flash artists and reviewers on newgrounds are preteens or teenagers. It's also obvious that the teenage hatred for criticism shows whenever an artist writes FUCK ALL REVIEWERS FUCK ALL BAD REVIEWS I'LL SICK WADE ON YOU!!!

The best advice is to not take internet criticism seriously and not let annoyance reflect in your flash, because that makes it annoying to watch. Whiney flashes are for foamy.

truffle! i thought it was breadfruit because thats the character you used. my bad. anyway, you did it again man. this is the perfect message for those people who make shitty reviews. i know i havent ever made a flash, but i think i can atleast be a little helpful sometimes. perfect follow-up to you last submission and ill keep giving 5s as long as these come out. again, truffle, you are doing a great service and i thank you. peace out and keep up the stellar work!
