I want to like the Sharks, but I despise cheechoo, and the way he reacts after he scores. With the dropping to one knee and pumping of his fists. It make me so sick, he's such a sub-par player without Thorton.
You only despise Cheechoo because he's on my fantasy team, admit it.
You have to look at it this way, though. There's always one player that has somebody else to make them an elite combo. Jari Kurri had Gretzky, Jagr had Lemieux at the start of his career, and so on and so forth. Even if he may seem like a subpar player, you can't take away anything he's accomplished this year, with or without Joe Thornton.
50 goals is a rare enough plateau, so surely you can't knock him for reaching that. I don't think he would have without Joe Thornton (possible MVP challenger for Jagr :P), but he is getting better, as his career develops. Remember, this is only his third NHL season.

You seem to be forgetting the Wings record against underdog teams...
That was the OLD NHL, when they had people like the Dominator in goal. They are playing great this year (I hate to say it) and are one of the main contenders for the West title
Your Avs only got worse this year, in statistics and players.
Injuries have hurt us. If we had a full strength team, we wouldn't be doing so badly.

Plus, Theodore gave up a few goals in his debut, against the offensively challenged Wild.
He's not match fit yet. I don't recall him having a rehab assignment in Hershey, so he's coming in cold.
Though, Tanguay and Konowalchuk are practicing again. and Konowalchuk brings some good things to the team. Leadership, penalty killing, and even some offense.
When they start playing again, we will be ready for the playoffs (I hope they won't have finished by then)

Honestly, I really don't want to see Konowalchuk back, just in case San Jose and Colorado ends up facing each other in the playoffs like in 2004. I believe he's a force in this new league.
But I don't want to see the Sharks coming to play, with Cheechoo and Thornton, either

I still think they (avs) got the better of that trade..
Both of those goalies have great potential. They both have 30+ wins in a year and are both about the same age. Theodore has noone to really contest with him for the #1 spot, while Abby now has a fight with Huet.
I'll tell you what I think after Theodore has had a few more games to fit in. He could help us go far... but he could also be a shitbrick.
It's still in the balance.
