No, Detroit has been a Western Conference team for quite a while now. THey used to have a really big rivalry with Toronto, but that seems to have transfered to Colorado now.

Starting to become a bit one-sided. I think Detroit managed to sweep the season series, and in one of those victories, handed the Avs their only shutout.
The thing with the avs could end up really hurting them, since Jose is out for quite a while, and he's entrusting those two young goalies to keep them in the playoffs. Remember, they're 8 points ahead of 9th place, but 9th has 4 games in hand,

I'm hoping that this season is a blip on the radar, as we've never been this bad aginst them, even as the Nordiques.

I think we're entrusting the goaltending to our offense, which has a great chance of pulling us through. It's a real chance for Peter Budaj and Vitali Kolesnik to make a bid for the backup spot for the playoffs. I'd love to have that position, sitting on the bench, watching a team and never actually doing anything in the games.

I'm a Red Wings fan for the last 14years. But I wouldn't be too worried at your place; Avs are in a transition year; you've lost a LOT of talented players due to the salary caps. So did Detroit but, guess our youngster and Sweden line is better than expected.
Go Wings Go!
7-3 vs Kings!

Ya but there also one point behind 3rd place but the Flames have 3 games at hand.

NHL had a lockout LAST season.and if you like fights watch teams with enforcers. Try Philly, they've got some guys who can mix it up.
Todd Fedoruk on the Ducks has gotten into a few too.
east:Boston Bruins
west:Calgary flames
faviourite players:David Bolland,Joe Thornton,Alexander Ovetchkin,Sidney Crosby
Well, tonight the Ducks finished up a home&home with the Coyotes, and they finished it in the best possible way.
After going down 2-0, Lupul finished off a beauty of a feed from Selanne near the end of the second to bring it up to 2-1, and they had a 4 goal third period to sweep the home and home series.
Newly acquired Jeff Friesen potted the game-winning goal.
that moves Anaheim into a tie with Edmonton for 8th is the west. The Ducks also have two games in hand on the Oilers.

I'm pinning the hopes on Jose Theodore (and Peter Budaj, who got his first career shutout last night against the Flames) Who kows how well we will do.

Well, the flames are now a point down, with three games in hand. It's still anyone's race, though the Flames have the advantage, no doubt. I think the Avs weill push them hard.

Welcome.
faviourite players:David Bolland,
who? Seriously, I can't find him on the nhl.com player search.
Joe Thornton,
Nice choice, he's playing really well for the coyotes.
Alexander Ovetchkin,
Battling with Phaneuf and Lundqvist for Rookie of the year.
Sidney Crosby
who? His billing tells us he is a lot better than he has turned out so far.

breaking news: Joe Thornton traded to coyotes :P
I meant to say the sharks, but my brain obviously left the building.

I wish you the best of luck... our team had a good rivalry in the past. Hope it will last 10 more years!

He is with the London Knights since 2002; has been selected by Chicago Blackhawks on round 2 (#32 overall). In 2006, here's are his stats GP-57 G-56 A-70 PTS-126 PIM-100
Joe Thornton,Nice choice, he's playing really well for the sharks.
Since his trade, he his... but I still don't like him!
Alexander Ovetchkin,Battling with Phaneuf and Lundqvist for Rookie of the year.
A great youngster! I am just scared he'll do like Teemu Selanne in 1992-93...
Sidney Crosbywho? His billing tells us he is a lot better than he has turned out so far.
A good, but overrated player.

He plays for the London Knights in the OHL

He plays for San Jose
Alexander Ovetchkin,Battling with Phaneuf and Lundqvist for Rookie of the year.
Ya he is amazing!!! Alexander the great will win
Sidney Crosbywho? His billing tells us he is a lot better than he has turned out so far.
Ya well he has no one to play with seeing as palfy retiered Mario retiered rechi traded and Dick Tarnstrom also traded

I think when he was in the QMJHL (I think it was) he was billed as the next big thing. Regardless of weather or not he has stars to play alongside, he would carry the team if he was Gretzky (as if anyone could match his greatness)
He's played alright, but nowhere near what was being expected of him. Ovetchkin for the Rookie of the Year.
The Avs wasted their 3-0 win, by losing 4-3 to the flames again last night, moving the flames to 3 games in hand and 1 point ahead of the Avs. We'll see if they can hold out over the stretch.

I wouldn't say wasted. If the Flames won both the Avs would be 3 points behind with 3 more games played. It was good game as Flames led 3-0 after the 2nd then Avs turned it up (Not trying sound like a sore winner but the reffing was in the Avs favour all period) to take it t 3-2 then Kobasew scored to make it 4-2 then with the goalie pulled the Avs popped one more to make 4-3 but thats all they could manage.
Gretzky didn't do everything by himself...
he had Messier,Kerri,Coffey and much more stars!!!!
P.S. Bobby Orr was greatest
Ovetechkin will win rookie of the year you dont worry
P.S. he has to I bet my uncle $100
Wow...its been quite a while since I've checked in with the old NHL Club. Well, its about time the Leafs started winning some games. Although, I'm afraid that its probably too little too late. As much as I don't want to admit it, they'll probably end up missing the playoffs this year. They're 6 points back of Tampa Bay for the last spot in the East, so its not completely out of the question yet. I just wish they would have done more at the trade deadline.
I used to be with it. Then they changed what it was.
Now what I'm with isn't it and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Different game back then. The men were harder and they poured blood, sweat and tears into their teams.

Ya leafs suck ass!!! But so does my team so hay! But seeing as Toronto is my second faviourite team I want them to make it but they wont make it.
They beat my team(Boston Bruins) thaugh so you know that anything can happen...
I wish I was there to see leafs kick ass in the 70s
Stupid World Figure Skating Championships... This 7 game road trip will make or break the Flames hopes for the division and maybe even a playoff spot.

I wouldn't say that your playoff hopes are in jeapordy. Though your division lead may be under threat if Colorado or Vancouver can pull their fingers out.

It's looking interesting in the run up, though since Calgary has the lead AND games in hand, they shouldn't have too much to worry about.
Boy, my goalie situation is looking good in fantasy hockey. After Niitymaki gave up 6 goals against buffalo, Eshe has given up only 2 goals in games and gotten a shutout. So he's the started for the time being.
Then, in montreal, Aebischer got lit-up in his first start as a Canadien.
And Gerber is still the number 1 in Carolina.
Last night I opened up a 15.5 pt lead on Coop, because of My players on the Rangers. Prucha score, Sykora scored, Ozo got a goal and an assist.
My Flames Got FUCKING DESTROYED by the preds today... Holy Shit.
9-4 the final... Lets just say a defensive collapse coupled with poor goaltending from Boucher = Terrbile.
Good News on the NGHL front though as I'm only one point out of the top 10.

its alright

Boy oh boy, those Rangers are just fantastic.
Last night, my Ranger players picked up 10+ points for my in fantasy hockey.
Also, even though my goalies didn't play, it ended up being a good night for them. Cam Ward, of the Hurricanes, gave up 4 goals in a loss. While Abby, in his second start for the Canadiens, gave up 5 goals. He's given up 10 goals in his first 2 games.
I also pulled within striking distance of the next three people ahead of me.

Well, I'm concentrating on the Avs trying as hard as they can to miss the playoffs. Ok, so we lost 6-5 to San Jose, with arguably the league's best line (when you consider Thornton and Cheechoo, it's almost a forgone conclusion) I only hope we can bounce back tonight against the Kings.
WTF happened in Pittsburgh last night? The arena blacked out not once, but twice in one game! My roommates and I were sitting around watching the game and when it cut out, we started to freak out. Its alright really, it was an ugly game anyways. It played more like a soccer match than a hockey game. Seriously, low shot counts, a 1-0 score and the only goal came on a penalty shot. It was definitely soccer night in Pittsburgh last night. Ah well, at least my Leafs picked up a hugely important 2 points.
I used to be with it. Then they changed what it was.
Now what I'm with isn't it and what's it seems weird and scary to me.
