I have Edmonton winning in 6, though I'm not too confident in that.

I'd rather Edmonton but it all depends on the energy the Panthers bring after beating the Rangers.

I'm just hoping Edmonton's people have enough common sense to keep their emotions in check should the Oilers lose unlike Vancouver in 2011. That wasn't a good look for Canada then.

I hope this turns into a Gentleman's Sweep.

Made me wonder where was this from Edmonton this whole time. It most likely won't matter because Florida has been dominant this whole time, and I doubt that Edmonton will muster enough firepower to win another game, especially with the long grueling trip back to South Florida.

Well that's the thing

At this point Panthers have the upper hand. UNLESS Edmonton can pull a game 5 win we shouldn't even go into the possibility that we'll see this go into a game 7 series.

HOWEVER. And this is a massive however because we're talking about the Panthers losing 8-1 in one game it almost looked like Sergei Bobrovsky got tired and his mental game completely collapses. As with the Panthers. Edmonton actually looked like they were perfectly fine after they figured out how to get around Florida's team. Even with the travel time into consideration you also have to remember that a 7:00pm game here is also a 5:00pm game for Edmonton.

That said if they really want to pull this off and have that massive underdog win, then they gotta win game 5. If that happens and I see them win this whole series and go on to get a game 6 win and a Stanley Cup, I'll go out of my way to watch My Little Pony for once after years of shitting on the show. And I'm rooting for Edmonton knowing that they risk losing against Florida JUST BECAUSE I want to see a Canadian team win in my life time.

But it's just insanely unlikely right now.

Canada cannot be allowed to have the Stanley Cup. It's been our nation's property for three decades now. Florida needs to step the heck up RIGHT NOW. Our country is relying on that wacky-ass also-there Florida hockey team and they've just completely pooed their pants in two straight games.

No.

Lord Stanley MUST return to Canada

I'm not gonna lie I can't wait for tonight's game.

Like this whole series is putting me on edge rn and I'm hoping Edmonton can pull off a 3rd consecutive win and then a 4th.

The hype is real

Leave it to Florida to potentially blow the decades-long streak of the Stanley Cup staying in the United States.

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER PANTHERS.

Well what did you expect?

Did you think that the Oilers wouldn't figure out Panthers and what their game is without exploiting how tired they are after beating the Rangers and somehow ignore the travel distance factoring in?

And lets be honest if the cup staying in America is really that important, then why is the Hockey Hall of Fame in Canada where the sport as we know it today came from?

Hell as much as I prefer Boston taking the Cup, Gretzky's original team deserves this when you look at how they played this whole season. Panthers just look like the Maple Leafs in the first round blaming everyone but themselves.

Congrats for them! BUT I still would have perferred an underdog win from Oilers. Gotta say my respect for Edmonton went up a ton after this series though!

Florida finally pulls it off after blowing it in three straight games and the Stanley Cup stays in America. Today was a good day.

Good for Paul Maruice and Bobvorsky to win it all considering how long they have been coaching/playing without the Cup.

Edmonton simply ran out of gas at the end, though it shouldn't be too surprising in retrospect, considering what they went through just to get this far.

Either way Oilers don't have too much to be upset about. They have the depth and the skill to possibly get in next season same way Panthers did up to this point given their loss to Vegas last year...

Unless Bruins end up getting to the finals in which case go Boston.

If they can hold on to Draisatil and a few other pieces, they'll be back most likely. That said, Colorado, Dallas, Vegas and even Vancouver are pretty close, so the margin for error is thin in the West. (Jury is still out on Winnipeg and LA Kings) Either way, Edmonton can't afford to start slow again and get complacent.

Some in Edmonton would hope.

Speaking of trades Ottawa is getting Linus Ullmark from the Bruins. Honestly whether or not that's a good thing for the Bruins remains to be seen but it would seem that Boston is getting a first round draft pick out of this in addition to Mark Kastelic and Joonas Korpisalo.

Ottawa probably has the better end out of it assuming that they can actually build up their team in a way that actually makes sense for them moving into next season. Which may mean Canada could get another team in the East Coast that isn't Toronto.

It is weird that the preseason overlaps with the regular season just a little bit.

I never noticed that to be honest.

Compared to the way the Divisions are currently aligned that's not really the strangest thing far as I am concerned with the NHL.

So, how bad will the Columbus Blue Jackets end up?

Even before the Gaudreau tragedy, Columbus was a total dumpster fire that was filled to the brim with fragile players and no real identity, and now with Johnny hockey gone, it won't suprise me if Columbus ends up with the worst record this season.

I don't want to downplay the tragedy they went through with Johnny hockey, but they weren't getting any better with him before, and now they are basically hopeless.

They're either gonna have to make some smart trades and some good decisions on who to bring up from the Cleveland Monsters or they won't have a shot at playoffs.

Meanwhile here I am eagerly awaiting for Thursday for the matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens because I'm gonna be seeing that game live.

No not really but for the money I paid for me and my dad to go see this game it was very well worth part of my OT pay.

I still hear the sarcastic "olé" chants in my head and that moment will live rent free in my head from now on.

If the Avs dont make it, let it be the Jets or the Oilers.

Maybe Ottawa

Toronto is way overdue for a title, but nobody trusts them at all to actually win even with their supposed advantages. Winnipeg has been the best team in regular season, but President's cup winners haven't fared well historically.

I'm picking Washington to win the cup, it seems like they have the team of destiny feeling with them, what with Ovechkin getting the goal record and all. (I say that, and they'll probably blow it in either the first or second round. Oh well.)

At least the Blue Jackets fought to the end and didn't fold up after all they went through this season.

Montreal would have a momentum boost if they beat Washington but I wpuld not count on them pulling that off given their cirrent team has little playoff experience. Washington has a strong chance to go up to the semi finals but it all depends how much steam they have.

As for Toronto, they are the meme at this point. The Maple Laffs are the Red Sox of the NHL in regard to their drought its kind of expected for them to be the team that has it good for regular season at best.

Winnipeg would be nice to see go up against Toronto that said. Personally I'd rather the Avs BUT with the playoff experience that the Jets have it does make me wonder if they end up pulling a 2011 Vancouver or go all the way.

Also, at least Blue Jackets didn't have Don Sweeney running their team to the ground, they did better than the Bruins and the only thing I have to look forward for my B's is to see some major shake ups to their whole organization if Jacobs can pull his head out of his ass in Buffalo.
