I always believed that any gaolie getting through all 65 minutes of a 0-0 game was credited with a shutout. I'm not sure if it applies to a goalie who lost in the shootout.

Drafting him or picking him up on your fantasy team? It would've been useless either way. Nolan hasn't signed on with another team this year. Until he does, it wouldn't even be a wise decision to pick him up.

I was tempted to draft him. He was about 50th rank on my list and I managed to get players higher up the list than him. (fortunately)

Then there was the case of Patrick Elias, who's been inactive all season with that infection that he had. All-in-all, it's just been a disaster for me.

I'm guarunteed to be unable to use the net at that time of day, as my little brother sleeps in the same room as my computer (and my broadband connection), so I can't possibly make it. I didn't do too badly though, as I only picked up one real duffer (Daze) and I opted to put him on my prospects list.

Hepetitis can be a really nasty illness to get over. Patrick Elias might not be back all year, and then he may not be as good as he used to be.

I find it highly ironic that I ended up in the #1 spot in my Newgrounds Fantasy Football League Playoffs, am currently #1 in my Newgrounds Fantasy Basketball League, yet I'm 15th in the Newgrounds Fantasy Hockey League. What makes it all so ironic is that hockey's my favorite sport, yet I'm doing the worst in that league.

Maybe you ahve biased opinions of the stars, since you know who SHOULD be playing well, but they don't nessecarily, whereas you're more likely to take a risk on a rookie in the others, because you don't really know the game as well as Hockey.

Hey, I know what it feels like to be last, I held the position for some time. But I managed to rebound, surpassing two idle players and now you and philee. Up ahead is the inactive TexasHockeyMassacres who I came within a few points of a few nights ago. I'll be behind him for a while though, because he has Thorton Alfreddson and Jagr - all playing tonight. He really could have had a fantastic team, I wonder why he abandoned it.

Anyway, just hope you get some lucky acquisitions. In my case it was picking up prucha and having Ktachuk get healthy. Although, Kieth in injured, so I'm sure I'll start slipping.

Ya, seriously. I hate how Texas is right behind me, but he's inactive. I'm actually trying to do well, BUT MY TEAM WON'T GIMME ANY POINTS! Got a +33 on saturday, then no points since then. *sigh*

Yahoo Fantasy Hockey just isn't much fun when you're not winning. I dunno if I'll last until the end.

Aapo is pulling into a clear lead, while I'm playing catchup, I just seem to not get enough points. Whenever I do get a lot, Aapo gets double. I need a third goalie to help me, having just two is a major inconvenience.

Hah, goalies were my biggest weakness when we started. Luckily, I got Gerber, whose posted 2 shutouts so far. Esche would help more if he didn't keep getting injured. >(

How about Scott Parker, eh? His first game back after suffering a concussion, and he ends up scoring in the first period. I'm glad he's back, because he's basically the team's enforcer. It's always a bonus when he scores a goal, though. :)

Yeah, that was pretty nice. But, the Sharks win is going to be tainted in my eyes. Or Cheechoo's goal, at the very least.

Another poor call. Cheechoo clealry lifted his hand off ofthe stick and pulled Sykora down. Not only should that have been a penalty, but on the folllowing breakaway he FELL DOWN, and got a penalty shot. It's tough to watch.

And so it ends, the sharks come away with a win that I'm dissapointed in, but the Ducks are still edging them out in the conference and time goes on.

Anyway, the rangers fell again on two quick goals, but Prucha got a point tonight.

The blues pulled a close one out in Phoenix give their new goalie his first win.

The preds just keep winning at home, edging out Colorado 3-2.

Carolina came away from division rival Tampa Bay witha 6-4 win. Staal picked up two goals and three points.

Wow, sorry to double post, but I had a huge night tonight. The only two who came close to me in points were Coop and dobio. What surprises me even more is that I had not one game winner, and the person I surpassed has the top 3 scorers in the league, all of which played. And even though I have an anahiem heavy roster, they didn't generate too much of it. It was a very solid night for me. And Columbus defenseman Wescott picked up a goal for me the first day in my roster.

The best result of the night was Jonathan Cheechoo's Hat-Trick with a game winner and a PPG thrown in there for good measure. 10.50 points on the evening, which gave me a great boost. I'm gunning for a few places in the league over the next few weeks.

Anyone know why all players have been labeled not available at all, I'm getting worried, because this could be a BIG night for me points wise.

It's been happening the past few nights. At first it was only the rookies, which left me concerned because I have prucha, foster, and boyes on my team. It's sttarted to spread though.

No worries, you'll get you point. btw, I've climbed about five spots in a month, which is a good sign to me. Even moreso now that Gerber has his starting job cemented.

That's ok then, I logged on this morning and suddenly there was my list of players, all bar 2 defencemen were labled NA.

Wow, this Ducks game is getting heated. after the Ducks went up 4-1, Jamal Mayars and Francois Beauchemin got into it. Francois, a very young and new player, PUMMELED Jamal Mayars, who is an experienced fighter.

Then, the Ducks went up 5-1, and Jackman really crossed the line. He was pushing and shoving Tyler Wright, who wanted none of the fighting business. He kept pestering him, hooking and jabbing, The Wright fell down and Jackman jumped on him and started beating the unwilling fighter. Jackman got a triple minor, and deservedly so. That was a very uneeded attack.

That sprung Fedoruk to fight Downey. It was going pretty evenly, Downey even brought Fedoruk down to the ice, but since the refs were busy trying to pry jackman off of Wright, they popped back up. Fedoruk drilled Downey with a straight shot to the Downey's nose.

The game's about half over now, and it's getting heated.

Well, I am about to end my session as leader of this club, ever since the steve moore incident I was just struggling to stay on the band-wagon. So I am going to end it right now. I will still check up on this place from time to time. But, I shall name the new captian of this club, Coop. You have the experiance to lead this club don't let it down. Now some news in the world of Olympics.

Todd Bertuzzi made it and Sidney Crosby wasn't picked for what is a veteran-laden Olympic men's hockey team.

Take care for now my hockey bretheran.

I'm not sure that we really need leading, since this club rarely has flame wars or fights, but it's a nice gesture.

I was more surprised with the goalie choices. Wayne, standing by Gretzky said "We'll have better defence than the devils"

But, if he's weak with regular defence, and good with great defence, why not have a netminder who can handle himself without good defence in front of him?

My Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Montreal Canadiens 13-1 in my season of NHL 2K2, and two of those were short-handed. I own the CPU when playing at Nationwide Arena, but I'll have to work on kicking ass on the road. There were three penalties in that game, and they were all the result of me plowing into Theodore. Apparently, that's Charging, and I need to avoid that by switching to a player that is on the screen whenever the opponent is in my zone.
The real Columbus Blue Jackets didn't fare as well. They were winning 2-1 against the Dallas Stars in the 2nd Period, but I must've missed the rest of the game because I didn't realize that they lost 5-3.

Yeah, I really don't understand why Bertuzzi got picked. Everyone keep going on about the Moore incident and that we shouldn't let criminals on the team, but I really don't care about that (everyone makes mistakes in life, we're human after all). What really gets me is that a lot of players that were named aren't having great seasons. It's like they had already picked the whole team before the season started.

They just picked the big names and called it a day.

The Flyers almost did the same thing earlier tonight. Went up 3-0 on the Pens after about half way through regulation, only to give up 4 straight in the late second and third, Crosby accounted for the second half of that streak. It was a huge game in terms of momemtum swings. Flyers outpaced the Pens in the first half, and just the opposite for most of the second half. But in the final 8 minutes or so my boys decided to play once again, after a decent move in terms of lines on the part of Hitchcock, and scored 2 to win it 5-4.

Having lost a 3 goal lead is nothing new, but is a lot more common these days. They could blame it on back to back games, or the new rules, but it's still inexcusable.

Anywho, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Roenick's comments on him being "blackballed" by USA Hockey. I've seen him play live, as many of you probably have as well, and I agree somewhat with his argument, which is the fact that he didn't play in the last 2 World Cups and they are holding that against him. His numbers this year aren't great, and he certainly is past his prime, but to say he couldn't help the US in the olympics... well I would need some convincing evidence. That evidence may come in the form of his finger surgery and him being out 4-6 weeks, but he recooperates fast (jaw incident for example) and I'm sure he could be ready by then.

That's the only thing I don't like about Christmas: There's no hockey games! Sure, the NBA and NFL have two or three games each, but why can't the NHL? I guess it's not too bad, considering the players at least get the holidays off.

Well, all hockey players need a day or two in the middle of the year to recover from a few minor injuries, like cuts, bruises, broken bones, blunt trauma etc.

I think they've earnt it.

We spectacularly collapsed last night in the first, to 3-0 against Phoenix. Then we won 7-4.

A nice little error in the system of the Fantasy Hockey gave Marek Svatos the game winner, instead of Milan Hejduk. Svatos scored Colorado's 4th goal, which would not win the game, because it tied it up 4-4.

Some decent goals, but I think our spirit has been bolstered for a more successful 2006 :)
