That avs canucks game really picked up in the last 3 minutes. It was looking like Canucks were going to embarrass the avs when
BAM
BAM
BAM
The avs picked up 3 goals in a about a minute. The canucks managed to fend off this endgame surge when they won a face off and sent it into the empty net.

That was a great game. It would have been fairer for 5-4 however

Possible the new Patrick Roy. I'll certainly enjoy watching it

FLAMES WIN!!!

3-2 the score as flames comeback from a 2-0 deficet in the first to score two in the second and the game winner with 14 seconds left in the third!

Eat that LA!

That makes the Flames one game under .500

The beauty of the new NHL is that teams like this may sustain a run into the playoffs. I don't know what the playoffs are going to be like this year, but it'll be interesting to find out.

I remember the good old days of the flames. Lanny MacDonald's game winning goal in the Finals in 1989 to win the Cup. So good to see Lanny hoist the mug.

I remember the good old days of the Avs. Joe Sakic recieving the cup from Commissioner Bettman and then handing it over to Ray Borque, so he can hoist it aloft first. A great moment.

I posted that after the first period while we were still down 2-0.
It's very easy to get down when you're a flames fan and they allow two goals in one period.

But seeing how were only a game under .500 I think we're finally going to see the flames of '03-'04.

Funny thing though... During the intermission I was watching Sports Center and they were saying how so many teams have came back from 2+ goal defitcs and I was ranting about how it's never the flames who rally back.

What are your guy's thoughts on Dion Pheanuf?
I think he's the next Al McInnis... He just kicks so much ass!

Well, he's got the potential. Are there any decent veterans to nurture him in the team?

Well Marchment was his childhood idol.
Regher isn't exactly a veteran but he's still is very good and Pheanuf could learn quite abit from him.

The sens finally had their streak snapped, although it wasn't exactly a glorious win by the Canes. Even the Hurricane announcers were disgusted at Gerber's embellishment, which prevented the sens from mounting an endgame tie.

Toronto defeated Boston in what was a hard earned victory. Belfour was on fire, it was incredible.

I'll still wait on his potential. I'm not taking anything away from the vets the flames have, but they aren't regulars in the All-Star sarting lineup. He's got a long career ahead of him.

If there was an Allstar game this year then I can almost garuntee Regher would be on it.

When Giggy's on, you better watch your asshole. It was a good night for anahiem all around.

Selanne picked up a goal and an assist, as did Lupol. They finally got their Power Play going and they STILL don't have fedorov in the lineup. I only caught the last period, and it was pretty sweet.

Poor Canas.

Flames are my team!!
I can't stand them losing!

O'well... when we beat LA 3-2 in the final 30 seconds the feeling that came upon me was worth all the losing.

A nice all-round performance from the Avs last night, posting a 6-2 win over the Caucks.

I wish My fantasy players would start scoring more.

But Kam-Ron scored 37 points last night. I know he's got Super Mario, but he was only worth 9.5 FFS.

Personally I'm just glad my team's doing this well so far. I guess it helps to have a guy like Simon Gagne who's 2nd to only Jagr in goals scored by 1 and has played 2 fewer games. Also Brendan Shanahan is on my squad as well and he's fourth and many of those were PPGs. Mike Richards is also a pleasant surprise for a Rookie.

What is keeping me out of the top five I guess is Goaltending and GWGs.

Anywho, Flyers came back and scored 3 unanswered last night for the come from behind win and I'm happy about that. I'm just about to go watch 'em go at it again against the Hurricanes. My prediction, another highscorer and Flyers win, with hopefully everyone that's affiliated with the Flyers on my squad getting on the statsheet and former Flyer Rod Brind'Amour as well in a losing effort. Fantasy league gaining of ground perhaps?

Response to NHL Hockey Fan-Club 2005-10-28 21:51:09

Meh, so my prediction was off in just one small detail as the Flyers lost, but it was a high scoring affair with 14 total goals. I'm just pissed at the fact they kept turning the puck over and were getting consantly beat in the battles for the puck at the boards. That's basically what cost them the game as they weren't doing that as much in the first two periods and were ahead 5-3 going into the 3rd. But the 3rd period has been a bugaboo for the Flyers and although I don't have any stats to verify this with but I'm pretty certain they're getting outscored there. Flyers came from behind yesterday, only do have the same happen to them tonight and get outscored 5-1 in the 4th (1 was an empty netter which happened because of more turnovers and incapability to get the puck in deep).

It was agood prediction. I have noticed that Derian Hatcher and Chris Terian don't seem to be playing as offensively as they used to. (I porbably only noticed this due to the fact that they are on my fantasy team)

Alexi Zhamnov to return tonight? Please tell me yes!

That's true, probably one of the reasons I managed to get him in the draft.

Hatcher can do both, I know that, but he's pretty streaky sometimes.

He just hasn't clicked with the rest of the team yet. I'll give him some more time bofore pulling the plug.

Who'da thunk you guys would be so on the ball when it comes to an out-of-town team? Lol yeah, but you guys are absolutely right, as Bundy really was never an offensive defenseman and almost seems lost in this new NHL system. Hatcher has been playing poorly so far and until they turn it around I'm wondering if the trade for him and Rathje was even worth it. Rathje needs to turn it on too, as both of them have been coughing up the puck at poor times to allow goals.
