That's why young chaps often fuck up on communicating love, hatred, or other especially passionate emotions. I can't remember what it was called, but there was this relatively popular animation some time back where the author tried to work in a love story between two people looking to be about 14-16. It was about as convincing as botox. I concur.

Sales tax (or Value Added Tax as we know it) is 17.5% in the UK. And our crime rates are starting to look more American by the day, despite having knife and gun amnesties. The UK is not the place to go if you're trying to escape the US - after all, your money's only half as good over here.

Luis, my condolences. I had no idea you were such a deep and complex person with such a burden to carry. Hope you find something that'll get your interest back into serious work - whilst we all need a laugh now and then, serious work does touch an often untapped resource on Newgrounds. I'm going to have to disagree with you on the "serious things need to be based in reality to have real empathy" line, but I can understand why you might feel that way.

I remember seeing that a while back. Makes me think that the maker took advantage of 9/11 just so he could get some recognition.

And i didn't know that animation was based off of real life Luis... Meh.

What does ADD stand for, anyway? D: im such a noob.

About the Canada issue thing, i do wish i could live somewhere like that. While America sure is fucked up like Johnny said, the place where i live is even worse. God, a few weeks back my sister got into a car accident due to some drunk jackass (at 11 am). Just some days ago my neighbor was shot in FRONT of his house. Its so scary, you never know when you'll just be dead.

at have to say, that is by far my favorite flash on newgrounds. only reason i dont have it on my favorites is because i know exacly where to go to find it. anyway, sorry about your friend, i cant imagine what it must have been like. I cant see myself coping with something like that to well.

pretty sure i said that...

and Alberta is also the only province that has no Provincial Sales Tax. Thank god for oil. : P

Attention Deficit Disorder

That sounds horrible D:
Although I do live in America and I have to live under our... different office, it isn't at all that bad. I live in a nice little city where not many bad things happen at all.

Attention Defisite(sp?) Disorder.

All this talk of people being put on pills for "ADD" reminds me of what a comedian said.
He said that back in his day when a kid did something crazy like pull a school shooting they'd get the shit beaten out of them by their parents but now they just shove 2423 different pills down their throat.
Australia is kinda like America in a way, anything that happens in America is most likely to happen in Australia. A good example of this is people getting fatter and the ADD problem.
They had a story on A Current Affair about how kids are getting put on a drug and need another drug to compensate for the side effects and another drug to compensate for the side effects of the other drug and so on. The end result was the kids went craazy and fat or emotionless and skinny.

That sounds horrible D:

It IS horrible. And it sucks because everyone around is so used to seeing on the papers "gangsters kill blah blah blah" or similar (gangsters may not be the real word, but meh). In fact, Most neighborhoods nowadays are paying this "war tax" that gangsters collect. They sometimes ask around Q. 1000/Q.2000, twice a month, per house. That is roughly $150 bucks every fifteen days, and if you dont pay, you get killed. D: Or you can run away and leave your house so then theyll take it...

And its sad because the cops dont do anything about it, in fact, most cops are just trying to implant cocaine into your cars so you have to pay them to let you go, or so they can fuck you up.

Naw, I can't even remember what it was called.
You're totally right about that other one though. It's so surface-level and full of blatant and cliche imagery and concepts. Plus it's by the guy who makes the Ray series, where you go around cutting people's throats and shooting them in the back of the head. Makes it a little harder to swallow..

pretty sure i said that...

Oops! Starogre, 23450.. you guys are all the same at.. heart. Or something? Whatever, I'm tired ><

Bloody oath . We have a small delay but practically everything that happens over there happens over here. And if it doesnt happen over here we spend ages just completely freaked out about it, to an extreme extent, what I'm talking about here is the threat of "terrorism". That's so bad at the moment, they have banned taking photos in a lot of places like southbank plaza, purely because they see people taking abstract photos and just presume they are planning terrorist attacks.

But as far as being like america it is very very true. All the issues you guys get practically get packed up and shipped over here within a year or so. The worst part about it is a large number of people in Australia dislike america, it's so damn hypocritical.

They pretty much send their problems with the new consoles and movies that come out.
The only good thing is that we get some of the positive things from their too...well at least I think, things such as accepting homosexuals as part of todays society.
One problem here is that in the A.C.T.(I think it's only here) that high school ends at tenth grade causing most people to think it's time to relax and then they don't care about going to college because they don't wanna do anymore school.

A.C.T. stands for the Australian Capital Territory

On a lighter note, anyone seen Jackass 2? I'm debating going to see it with some friends this weekend.

Luis,

I think that movie is one of my favorites because it struck close to home. I dealt with that every night for about 4 years. Had to move all over the country because my stepfather was addicted to cocaine, was an alchoholic and theif and we were constantly on the run, always homeless. 22 cities in 4 years. 5 schools in the 8th grade alone. He'd beat the fuck out of my mom every night... I'd witness it. There were times I felt like the little boy in your movie, except I held back.. probably for the better, in the end.... but I thought about ending it every single night for years. You feel so damned helpless when you're young and that's happening.

And I'll vouche for what Blaze is saying. I work with 2 immigrints from mexico and they both go on and on about how peaceful it is here, how kidnapping is an actual business in Mexico and S. America and how the cops are generally more evil than the criminals.

No biggy about my past. You either grow and get over it or dwell on it. Yeah, shit comes to the surface sometimes, but all in all... it helped put things in perspective. It's hard to get me angry or depressed anymore after some of that shit, lol.

Aye. I'm not sure if anyone's seen Little Miss Sunshine (not nearly as lame as it sounds) but there's a good few lines in it about how growing up without any suffering kind of turns you in a boring, spoiled and uninteresting person. I think there's a lot of truth in it.

unless the parents dont notice him too much.

Well it was at a happy medium, I'd say. A little bit of hollywood can make a movie more interesting. But it's easy to pack too much in and end up with a corny and nauseating experience. Thankfully they stopped before that point. Lots of dark humor. I enjoyed it.
