If people want their songs protected, they should put a little thing on the mp3 that when tried to be uploaded somewhere, recieves an error that says "This is a copyright mp3, hosting it is illegal and protected by it's respectful owner(s)" or something. That way, if people get around it, then they can sue. Or, if you're giving permission. Not what I want, but if the authors want it so bad, they should protect their crap.At 10/4/06 10:48 PM, Blaze wrote: BTW what ever HAPPENED to your site? :(More money D:
Apparently I violated some compyright thingy by hosting an Mp3 on there, and now I've gotta pay a 20 buck fee to get it back up.
You can't expect people to be forward thinking enough to take all of these measures, especially if they don't expect anyone to take it. Saying that someone's in the wrong for being naive about stuff like that is just a lame attampt at shifting the blame from yourself. If you want something on your site which doesn't say it's free, then just e-mail the author about it. It's not hard, and people can be pretty cool about stuff like that.
