I miss the Maple leafs more. They better start the NHL up again. Its only right that I should finish my goal of see the Leafs play at the air canada centre.
Its all right for some of you living in the same country, but its a problem when your about 3,000 miles aways.

Joe Sakic is our best player (As of the end 2004 season.) He's got everything and playing with some great players just makes him look even better.
As for prospects, It's a little late to mention the likes of Tanguay and Hejduk. They are already a mainstay of the team and arguably the future of the club.
I'd say of the more recent rookie crop, John-Michael Liles is our best player. 34 points in his rookie season was respectable and I'd expect him to build on it when they finally get back to playing.

Sakic? I'm more of a Foresberg fan myself, he's got the ofensive talent the Sakic has, plus he can play the body. Although if he gets roughed up he tends to hold a grudge and abandon scoring for going after players that knocked him.

The problem with Forsberg is that I still don't know if he's going to return to the Avs when the lockout finishes. Will he be tempted to stay at Modo in Sweden, his native land? or will he return to Denver, for one last assault on Lord Stanley's Mug?

For some strange reason I don't expect the Avs to win the cup. Or any of the teams we think should win. I think a player is going to step up and lead a team to the cup in an incredible cinderella story. Possibly pittsburg, Maybe minnesota. Only time will tell.

I think maybe Minnesota or Phoenix. They both have a good core of veterans, plus some good young talent.
Teams like Washington don't have the experience, Tampa could repeat, as they haven't really changed...yet. Lets not talk about NYR, though

I'm especially fond of Pheonix because Brett Hull is on the team. They even retired Brett' father's jersey for him

All the rangers need is teamwork and they could dominate the league
Anyway, on the ducks I like Sergei Federov and Rob Niedermier.
Their best young talent is definitley Ilya Bryzgalov, he made an immpressive showing in the world cup and looks prepared to handle the NHL
Well San Jose has oodles of talent.I think the best players are Kyle Mclaren(D) Patrick Marleau(C) and Evgeni Nabokav(G)

True, but they are quite a way away from that at the moment.

Sounds quite a good prospect. Who's he backing up in Anaheim? Gerber, isn't it?
*Does John Bucigross's 'Gerber, Gerber' noise*

I think they still have Giguere.

Did you know NHL tonight is over?
I was browsing the Penguins website and it seems they have a decent lineup this year. Mario Lemiux, although old is still one of the best.
Andy Chiodo and Marc Andre Fluery, seem to be decent goalies. And they signed Mark Recchi in the offseason.

I've just checked on NHL.com Both goalies (Giguere and Gerber are still in Anaheim.) I thought one got traded

Yes. It's unfortunate, but Buci made that show.

The problem now, is who to use.I would go with Giguer and Ilya, and see if they can get some offensive power for Gerber

I know there is definately a market for Gerber. He made quite a name for himself when he 'took over' from Giguere after their cup heroics. I think teams will still go after him. Maybe someone like Phoenix or Carolina.
On the Coyotes note, haven't they got a record holing G, themselves.

When was the fate of that show decided? I must've missed something. That's sad to see that go. That's a real bummer, because I thought Buccigross and Melrose were a damn good team, not to mention Ray Ferraro's good analysis skills. :(
I'm not sure but the finale was sad as fuck.
They showed about a ten minute tribute, then they said goodbye. After that the little tv behind them went out and the lights faded to black with thier outlines still barley visible
I've been persusing the website of the teams that sucked last year. I just got done checking out Chicago's site. They picked up Matthew Barnaby (formerly on the Avs) and Jocylen Thibault. They also have Eric Daze. It's hard to tell which team is going to finish last this year

We can't really guage them, as lots of them have been playing in different leagues to each other. It's going to be who can adapt to their teammates quickly and steal a march on the rest of the NHL.
I'm looking forward to the moment the NHL finally unlocks its doors again and lets the violence flow freely once more.
The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service has met with the NHL and NHLPA. Bill Daly (NHL Exec VP) said "No progress in the collective bargaining process resulted from the meeting. We have no further comment."
Can the FMCS call an 'impasse'? If they can, I think we could be seeing one within the next few months, to get a season 2005-06.
Your thoughts.
Well, it's offical now. They've cancelled the 2004-05 season. They'd better get their heads from up each other's arses and get things sorted for next season.
Either that, or there's trouble in Canada.
I am filled with a mixture of blinding rage and crippling dissapointment after hearig the news. So does this mean the St Louis Blues' record of making it to the playoffs every year has been broken?

Wings over avs? I'm a wings fan but the avs definitley have more talent. Brett Hull left the Wings and all the wings veterans(Yzerman, Chelios) are all a year older now

No, because they did not fail to make the playoffs, as they did not take place, so never existed.
Confused?

No way. Avs have so much more young talent, which has proven itself (Detroits's youngsters are still too young). We have a great young goalie, who is trying to prove himself (While the wings are trying to find a goalie who doesn't get injured, like Hasek. Plays well in the playoffs, unlike Cujo. And isn't regarded as a backup, like Legace.)
This argument will be settled next season. (Sooner, rather than later.) Whoever gets furthest in the playoffs, has bragging rights for the next season.

I'll have you know Hasek is now on Buffalo, Cujo had the best goals against average of any goalie in the playoffs and Legace is an awesome goalie
