Forwards:
Gordie Howe
Wayne Gretzkey
Mario lemuix
Defensemen:
Zedano Chara
Chris Pronger
Goaltenders:
Terry Sawchuck
Patrick Roy

I picked him so I could have an agile enforcer when needed. Thats also why I have Howe and pronger

Top 5 players of all time off the top of my head:
Bobby Ore
Wayne Gretzky
Gordie Howe
Guy LaFleur

hmm, make that 4... anyone have a worthy 5th in mind? I can't seem to think of anyone right now. I have a few ideas, but i am not sure they are top 5, maybe top 20.

Mario Lemiux? You know the guy with a higher points per game average than gretzky?
I would pick Brett for the top twenty but thats only because he is my favorite. My top five:
5Gordie howe
4Brett Hull(my favorite
3Bobby Ore
2Wayne Gretzky(?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)
1 Mario Lemuix

No offense hockey fans. But I think Gretz is a tad over rated. First of all he played even before lemuix when the goalies were much easier to score on and he didn't have many players on his team to compete for goals with. But Lemuix shared the spott light with Jagr and Recchi. He had more competion and could still put in 2 points a game night after night.

Gretzky has a hell of a team and a hell of some competition... the facts are he did better than Lemieux... would Lemieux have beated Wayne if he hasn't been involve in all those injury... will never know.... but the facts point Way tne as the number #1 :-)

Wayne gretzky is far better then Lemiux.. no questions ask.
And Brett Hull, is good... but not top 5, maybe top 10 if hes lucky. Guy Lefleur is much better then Hull. And you can't compare how goalies were easier and such, because players weren't as good either. You can't say Bobby Ore vs Gretzky (both from their prime) because Wayne would win. However if you compare them from the time they were in the NHL and how much better they were from other players in the league then, Ore would win. I have a tape of Bobby Ore killing off over a minute of a penalty all by himself. He skated up and down the ice over and over again, who can do that today? No one.
You have to compare them from the time period they played in and not compare them both today.

Indeed... I totally agree... but Lafleur wasn't that good... good enough to be in the top 10 but not the top 5.... he disapointed me when he join the LNH... he could have been better... . believe me... his 9th in my all time player rank.

I vote Lemuix. Lemuix had two points a game before he came back!!! He still has more a game than Gretz. He went out their in his first game in his first shift on his first shot he scored a goal. Its my opinionbut I like Lemuix. Actually, I pick lemuix as the best offensmen of all time not best overall

Ken Danyko? He played his entire career for the NJ Devils and retire two years ago. When did he ever play for Detroit?

Bobby Orr Versus Wayne Gretzky? Wasn't Bobby Orr a defenseman for the Bruins? He wore number four, I'm pretty sure. If he's a defenceman, then he should not have to be compared to an offensive player, especially one as good as 99.

What team do you think has the best looking jerseys?
I think the Senators, Red Wings, or Black Hawks

I quite like the Sharks, Red Wings, and Avalanche (Home) tops. I think that the Maple Leafs Third jersey is not too bad, because I like a bit of that retro feel. But, for tradition, you need the NYR Home jersey. That blue and the name RANGERS just says it all.

I also like the Anaheim alternate jersey. Because the ducks actually look like a challenge in the black jersey.

DId anyone see the game last season when it was the Ducks vs. The RedWings.
the goals went in this order:
Wings
Wings
Wings
Ducks
Ducks
intermission
Ducks
Ducks
Ducks
Wings
Wings
2nd intermission
Ducks
\Wings
Ducks
Ducks
end
One of the best games all of last season

I love the TML Vintage jersey. 'Tis cool.
However, biasly, i like the Avs Jerseys too. As i did the Nordics... : )

Response to NHL Hockey Fan-Club 2005-01-13 09:26:08

Wow, it seems that lots of people like the Avs jersey. Cool.

da_pope, why do you like our Alt jersey? It's the maroon one, with COLORADO written down it. The only jersey that belongs like that is the NYR 1st and 2nd jerseys. (The blue is best.)

Lemieux is good, obviousl. But, Gretsky is better, obviously. I am not sure what you are watching, maybe its just because you would have been watching gretzky as a wee one, but you got it all mixed up. Gretzky is the second best player of all time next to Ore.

Ya... I love that one... It looks Vintage... I own all the jerseys I listed accept for the San Jose (Alt.)

OMG! You are older then me and you don't know the skills of the ORe. You are kidding right. I have movies showing Booby kill off an entire penalty by himself. BY HIMSELF! What are you nuts, Lemiuex isn't half as good as Ore if you compare them to the times they played in. Ore was a god. Greatzky is better then Lemiuex. Even Guy LaFleur is better then Lemiex, ya sure Lemieux probably makes top 10, but not even top 5. You guys are nuts in here.

You are not a true hockey man. You should respect Ore.

I still don't get how Gretz is better than Lemuix though

Just watching him play, he was a better all around player. BEst passer i have ever seen. And you think Lemiuex can slow down the play? Well, Gretzky was just as good and scores a hell of alot of golas and has won a hell of a lot of stanly cups. I just enjoyed watching him more, and i am pretty sure he still holds some of the records.

Well some of Greztky's records are alrweady falling. This pat year Brett Hull over took the Game winning playoff goals record.
The only record Gretzky will keep is his scoring record, since gaolies are sooooooo much better nowadays.
How many times has Gretz scored between his legs?
Bahh Its just my opinion

Yeah, Claude Lemieux was a pretty good player. He started the whole Detroit / Colorado rivalry (For which I am eternally grateful.)

But even Claude Lemieux was no match for Bobby ORR (Spell it right people), Wayne Gretzky or Rocket Richard.
