(It wasn't originally broadcast in chronological order, which makes for a clusterfuck but the pacing is much better because of it, in chrono order (ie: dvd) the season 1 climax is like ep 6 or something i think

I'm watching the 2009 release, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. I have a 2006 release on my HDD that I had forgotten about, it's much more condensed.

It was meant to come off jokingly that obviously didn't come through. It's just the number of times I've seen people ask how long it goes on for, it's silly really. When it was airing it was fair enough, no one knew how long it would be. EE has been spoiled so much by now that everyone should really know about it.

Yuutsu's actually the 2nd series. Well, it was the first series rebroadcast in chronological order with like a dozen new episodes at various points in it. Like, the time travel, the endless eight, and the arc after the endless eight are the new episodes.

My favorite of them was by far the Stand, but Welcome to the N.H.K. follows next. For the latter, I'm definitely gonna look into the anime/manga. AYND was an average read, but the Mimics were definitely the best part (malevolent aliens, for the most part). It's pretty much Starship Troopers plus a time loop, with less of a focus on politics/philosophy.

Also, I'm watching the dub of Gurren Lagaan for the first time, and it's great (currently on ep. 9). I'm on the ninth episode of LoGH as well, and it's fantastic in every way.

Why are you watching the dub? Only season 1 is dubbed, so if you want to continue watching the series after season 1 you'll need to memorize the character voices again.

Just caught up with chihayafuru, and finished LoGH. Wow, what a rollercoaster, the last few eps, although a bit predictable, were beautifully well made. To be honest, the only real criticism I have of the show is perhaps the OP and ED animations gave too much away, they heavily implied all the significant plot shifts in the series dozens of episodes before they occurred. I won't talk too much because I know a couple of guys here are watching it atm, but I loved every second of the series. Some bits irked me (space is an ocean for ex) but I don't really mind since they excelled so much in fleshing out all the characters (notably the side-characters like the phezzani and some of the lesser admirals and such).

Does anybody else think it would be cool if Capcom got involved with more anime based on their titles, like Street Fighter 2 the Movie or Resident Evil Degeneration? I'd love to see a direct adaptation of Onimusha 1 and 2.

Also, it would be awesome if there was a miniseries or series of OVAs about the war that took place before the Darker Than Black series.

I'm not sure how hands-on they were with Sengoku Basara, but it seemed like they were involved mor than usual.

Finished Planetes. The first half of it is pretty mediocre/decent and episodic, then it suddenly turns into a masterpiece. Check it out if you're into space/drama anime. Next i'm gonna watch something called Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, looks like a pretty cool mafia themed anime.
