Meetups

It's great that we're starting to talk about these again. I've never personally attended one before, and they sound like they would be an awesome experience.

NY Meetup

I'm guessing we'd probably go somewhere in midtown manhattan...I've never been to a meetup before. It looks like we just go to an arcade or something? Just no bars, cause TD and I are underage. Actually, I do know a place... lol, if you guys figure out what you want to do, I can go check out some places and give you some feedback.

CO Meetup

Great idea. My grandmother lives there, so I fly down at least once a year. I've met up with Richie Zirbes (of Perfect Kirby fame) in Colorado before. He may be twice my age, but I'm twice his height hehe...Anyway, he might be game for attending or maybe even organizing that kind of thing, and I'd probably be able to attend. So once you rally up a crew of regs and get your thoughts together on this one, just contact meh.

PA Meetup

It could happen! Not as probable as the NY one, but I know plenty of regs who live in the area (I actually have a country house there myself)...

lol sleeping. :P
Yeah, that was pretty awesome. I love the shots near the begining. The character design for Jack was cool too.

Emptyness

I'm getting a very cold & empty vibe lately... I don't know why... it's a very negative atmosphere...
...Someone kick a baby or somethin' for lulz!

Lol @ Colorado meetup.
There are more girls on NG than there are users from this silly angular state.

UK Meetup II

I take it that it would still be in London, rather than some other crappy place?

It would probably be in london again.. it was really easy to get around and it all went off without a hitch. I think the date of it could have been better planned. There was a few people who wanted to show up but it was a nightmare with school starting back up or something. I know that Dim was on the verge of not being able to. I would like to avoid that if it all possible next year so we can maximize the turnout and not have it be a total strain on peoples school schedules YOUNGINSSS...

what dates are you all typically on holiday anyway? not being in school rulez btw.

Comcast Continues
As a continuing series, we follow the woes of a former Comcast subscriber

Following up on my rant, I recently tried to pay my last bill with Comcast, only to find they have deleted my online account, making it impossible to pay my final bill. They have also neglected to send it to me in the mail, and the due date for the payment is coming up quick. This means that late fees are just on the horizon, and push come to shove, they are going to probably get away with charging me the fines.

Hi there!

To be honest, I doubt a suit would work. Adobe is a US based company, and the only people suing it would be from the UK and the rest of europe. I'm not entirely sure how suing a company in another country works, but its probably not the easiest thing to do. It's probably a long process that would take years for a case to be heard.

And even if the case is heard, Adobe probably has a ton of lawyers and would probably spew out stuff about translating, adding support for european computers and versions of their operating system (It's not translating the text, it's making the software run on a computer from a different region). They'd probably pull out some arguments about import and export taxes too.

Anyway I'm not defending adobe or anything, but saying "Let's sue" isn't the best way to get a point across if you haven't picked out the details and all the complications of the issue.

Reg Meetup

London is actually a pretty south place, why not go to manchester or somewhere, so everyone has to travel roughly the same difference to get there instead of one guy taking 10 hours and someone else taking 30 minutes.

I agree, i don't think there's much of a chance that a few people can go against a muli million dollar company. I do understand your point, and adobe charges us way to much, but unless our willing to sped thousands to save hundreds, it's not worth it.

Where are you from?

Where (Country or more detailed) does everyone live? I live in the west midlands, in the center of Good olde wet england. The only one i know is delta, but i've been wondering about a few people for a while.

Up north west in the Fylde - just outside of Blackpool to be more precise. Got a lovely view of our tower.

Wait - am I hearing this right? Your an american who doesnt want to sue someone? You guys sue over anything.

Seriously though, I think you're right, a couple of civilians taking on a multibillion dollar company is ridiculous.

Nah, nothing happens in Manchester other than stabbings. In London, you get stabbings and the London Eye!

Where are you from?

Croydon, London. The gangsta capital of the world.

I'm sure it was most likely removed by request of author, he seemed to have had all his work whipped out from his account.

I'm not an average american. If something is worth suing for, and the chances of winning are fairly good, then I'm not against it but people need to be practical.

And our country was built on lawsuits.

Seriously though, I think you're right, a couple of civilians taking on a multibillion dollar company is ridiculous.

That and complaining that something is priced too high and should be forced to be lowered is promoting communism. It'd be different if they charged more to black people than white people, but that's not the case. Adobe has the right to set different prices for different regions just like how car insurance companies don't sell service to massachusetts (stupid freaking communism car insurance laws....)
