Fact is, Halo 3 is the killer app for the XBox360. It always was going to be, just the same way as Halo was the killer app for the XBox. Whilst Gears of War or Crackdown may have been decent (possibly in the realms of phenomenal) games, every XBox owner has been waiting the Halo 3 release with baited breath. So even though Assassins Creed will feature a more original gameplay system and Crysis will feature a holy-shit-you're-doing-WHAT set of graphics and physics engine, Halo3 will outsell both purely on the "people have been waiting for it" line.

Same with the new Smash Brothers / Mario Kart, and new Metal Gear Solid / Final Fantasy titles will outsell everything else on thier respective consoles. Killer Apps sell (duh)...

Me? I'm waiting for GTA4.

We all know how this really works anyway.
Hardcore gamers will preach long and hard about how thier games (notably, the killer apps they've got thier flags aligned to) are outselling everyone, but we all know the Top 10 of the year sales will be the following:
A Nintendo Game, a Sims game, three EA sports license, and the killer app for the year from all the major consoles. Thats the way it is.

And of course, casual game developers are laughing at everyone, outselling everyone in the online poker market (although thier less audible now that the US cracked down on online gambling).

In case anyone cares, I'm still nursing my YPP habit.

I've been away fro a while because I'm really into this game. I'm one of the strongest players and leader of a guild so I have to spend a lot of time on it leading my army and what-not. I'm currently into a F2P (free to play) MMOFPS called War Rock (link). It's pretty fun, seems to be an up and coming game, too many fucking hackers though, they have a done a decent job eliminating hacks, but they need to do better (super-jumpers...).

Halo 3 is good

It is a very well made game, but the hype is just overrated accompanied by some good online play that leads to good replay value to keep the fanboys inticed for a longer period of time.

Assasins Creed will be a true epic game, bring new meaning to stealth and semi adventure game play, I don't have a 360 and I'm keeping my eye on that game, as well as Super Mario Galaxy, which anyone who says that game looks weird or not like the originals, ur wrong and are going to hell for your misconception.

Halo 3

I love the franchise but the campaign this time around was even worse than part 2's, while the online play has improved dramatically. It sucks that the two aspects have this inverse relationship! I love halo 3 and believe it's one of the best IPs microsoft and the xbox have, but it's just I was dissapointed by the campaign and the marketable ending.

As a hardcore Halo fan, I would have much preferred a painfully conclusive ending over a complete cliff-hanger. I think the 130 bucks i paid for it was well worth it, I just wish the story put into the campaign could have been a bit more elaborate and lucid, as opposed to feeling rushed and translucent.

The multiplayer though is to die for and thats really the most important feature. Yes everyone was waiting for the dramatic conclusion to the epic struggle the human race was raptly enthralled in, but once the campaign is behind you (which isn't much of a task in and of itself) it's the multiplayer you'll spend months and years playing with your buddies.

Yeah the campaign wasn't too hot, but it had it's moments. It was good enough for me to not be dissapointed by the game entirely, and the multiplayer does a good job of filling the voids and gaps in my expectations. I remember getting mad at a 9.5 rating, but now that I've played that's about right. It's a killer app and deserves it.

Alright guys, I don't know who else here is kind of getting sick of it, but now saying that there are too many collabs is an understatement. Seriously, this is almost becoming a new "ngcollabs.com" type place. I mean here's just the first 40 topics on Flash BBS that are collabs: "Tankmen Collab, Pass My Flash Collab, Super Disability Collab, Black and White 5, Jerk it Out Collab, Sketch Collab, Madness Collab, Themed Week Collab, Yoshi Quiz Collab, Hero's Come Back Collab, Shadowman 64 Collab, Lessons Collab, Tut Collab 07, Sprite Collab, Countries Collab, Metal Slug Collab, II Hour Time Trial, Funny Little Feeling Song Collab, Working Class Hero's Collab"...ENOUGH COLLABS! I mean seriously, that's like half of the BBS being collabs at the moment. I mean, it's one thing to have like a few, maybe 5 or 10 even, but seriously, 20 collabs! That's absolutely absurd, especially because half of them are just stupid ideas anyways. I mean, there are so many song collabs, and then people just think that they should make a new one to raise the score. Something needs to be done about this. Tom didn't have anything to do with the collab rules, that was set down by flash mods. I think raising the bar might help, or if the mods would just eye a collab more closely to see if it's just crap that will never actually happen, or if it's good. Collabs aren't bad, collabs that aren't taken care of or completed are bad. There has been a large influx, didn't ngcollabs die?

Enough is just enough with those collabs. 4 running at a time is usually too many in itself, but now there is like 10, and that means not many of them will be finished.

The BA bar needs to be raised to 3.25 at least, 3.50 would be better.

3.0 ba is fine... I think it should include and "1 invdividual submission scoring 3 or higher" would be a better ammendment...

Collabs generally get around 3.5-3.9 range and those hwo run collabs are generally in alot of collabs...
maybe make them a must be approved by mod thing.... you'd get flooded with pm's though I imagine.

This game for the DS looks mighty interesting... Basically, it's a platformer, except to glitz it up, you draw your own hero to use in the game. You can also draw powerups and stuff like that. Pretty neat. Any of your guys' thoughts on it?
