Yeah, I agree with Luis, 2 pages of code tags are enough. Time to stop.

code tags? GOMG!!!!!!

anyway I know cause you told me before... a while ago... i think it was you who mentioned it. I won't tell.

HINT THOUGH it won't work in flash cause flash doesn't let you control pointers like that.

In fact it doesn't let you control them at all.

Syntax error? :P

Ofcourse not, who do you think I am? It most certainly is not in error.

While(*a++ = *b++); copies characters from b to a until the null character ('\0') is encountered

Don't ask me what it's used for.

geeze even id delta didn't explain it to me i could understand it based on that description you gave.

It copies one string (or array) to another string (or array)

*a++ = *b++

it's a bit hard to explain though but I think it goes something like this.

a starts at [0] or a pointer to the beginning of the string/array. b is incremented and saved to a which is incremented, continues until it can't copy any more.

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2007-09-20 16:18:03

You can both suck my cock, because I did google search it and I did understand what it does, I even found a nifty slide show showing what it does step by step. I just don't know why or when you would use it specifically because I don't know much about programming, but I do know basically how it works.

Oh, fie. I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo in English, and I love it -- but I'm way ahead of where we're supposed to read up to, and I don't want the book to end. Does that ever happen to anyone else? You love a book so much you delay reading it just to revel in the possibilities of what may happen next? I do it all the time. In fact, when I just finish reading an exceptionally good novel, I'm usually depressed for the next couple days due to the fact that I can't look forward to reading it anymore.
I wish I was more of a reader... I could be I just don't get into books really, or T.V.... Cept for 24, flight of the concords entourage and weeds... other than that I don't ever turn on my Tv

I just read The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail... after reading some transcendatilist essays it was kinda cool... but reading plays is way worse than watching them.

Mmmm... Count of Monte Cristo. It's an excellent book, I read it a few years ago. The jump in time when the main character was in prison threw me off a little, but other than that, it was good.

And yes, I am also an avid reader. When I find a book I like and I have the time, holy shit, I can blow through that motherfucker. Seriously, I read the new Harry Hotter book in about 30 hours (total).

Although, for class sometimes, I'll read ahead just because I'm a fast reader or I ant to make the suffering end. Those are some other possibilities.

As far as being depressed, I just watched the fucking saddest anime ever. I want to rip out my soul to not feel feelings. It makes you hate one character, than feel bad for them, and then it's like "FUCK YOU! YOU WILL FEEL CONFUSED AND SAD! WE FUCKED WITH YOUR SOUL!" And I'm like "Wahh! I'm sorry! Please, stop molesting my feelings!"

I think that may be the first anime that really fucked with my emotions and my mind.

N2N, it's transcendentalist btw :3

Literature

I'm not a big reader at all, I read for school and that is about it. The only series I really ever enjoyed was Harry Potter, and I finished that book in a span of 4 days, probably reading about 25 hours total.

I'm just not a huge reader, I find it hard to get into a lot of books.

Reading To Kill A Mocking Bird in English this semester. Not a fan of it so far. Some loli and her brother running around pissing off Boo Radley.

I read that a few years back, but from what I recall it was pretty good.

I started reading Stephen King's Dark Tower series a while back, and what I read was fantastic. I got part way into the 3rd book. I really need to pick it up again.

I read that for school 3 or so years ago... It was ok, nothing really ever happens... they kinda just piss about then read to some old racist hobag with a morphine addiction..

My teacher was one of those people that tried to find symbols in everything even if it took a huge stretch or very clearly wasn't there... so that probably off put me alot as I really didn't like her.

Mine was exactly like that, but I didn't hate her. She just read into everything way too more than was meant. Great teacher, though. She taught us things like essay form extremely well - great preparation for high school.

Right now my class is reading the Odyssey. Thankfully high school English courses seem to move much faster through books than junior high

I read it last year... I liked it, actually.

Just recently, however, my class just read this short story... the red Ibis or something... and It made me really sad. There's this little handicapped boy (like... age 5) whose brother gets mad at him for being handicapped. So, his brother teaches him to walk. But then, when they're down in a boat this one day, a storm comes. They start running back home, the handicapped kid falls, starts bleeding out the mouth, and dies...

So stupid.

What the fuck is wrong with your school curriculum?

First off, how do you teach a paraplegic to walk? I mean, WTF?

And he trips and bangs his head....

And dies.....

Does that make sense?

He said handicapped. Handicapped =/= paraplegic.

He said the kid falls. Falling does not always equal banging your head.

Hooray for jumping to conclusions. So he read a (seemingly) odd book. Maybe you should read it before you start asking "what the fuck is wrong" with his schooling.

Well, he fell and started bleeding from the mouth. I'm pretty sure the last time a handicapped person fell on their ass they didn't bleed from the mouth and die.

Hooray for jumping to conclusions.

Well, they're called inferences, making knowledgeable guesses based on the info given to you

If he found a link to it I'd be happy to. Then I could find out what the fuck is wrong with that school.

I read that in 9th grade. It sucked.

http://www.stanford.edu/~scodary/tkam.ht m

Enjoy that though. It has absolutely nothing to do with the book, but it's a funny as hell old flash movie :3

Someone said they're reading the Odyssey? Great fucking story. Read in the actual poem version, it's harder, but much more rewarding. Also, the Illiad (The precursor) is not so bad. Hoer was a good writer.

Favorite Books

Well, I'd have a fuck all long list, and I probably can't even remember them, but I'd have to say that The Divine Comedy by Dante Allegri is an amazing book.

Fucked-up Books

So on the opposite end of the spectrum, fucked-up books. That crazy walking handicapped one sounds fucked up, but how about one that my friend had to read for AP Psyche; the story was about this girl and how she had some mental problem like Multiple Personality Disorder and it wasn't that bad, but her mother was a psychopath and she tortured her, literally. He told me at one point, the mother tied her upside down and put an enema bag in her. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

It's almost as bad as Mai-chan's Everyday Life (Which is a very fucked-up GURO MANGA)

I can put it somewhere if anyone is curious/brave/stupid enough to read it. Worth a look.

I read a book about a year and a half ago in school (can't remember the name), and within the first chapter, a kid accidentally hits a lady in the back of the head with a snowball, she falls, everyone makes a big commotion, I think she has a miscarriage/deformed child, she ends up going crazy, and eventually sleeps with a dirty-ass vagabond. And that's the first like 5 chapters.

Weird stuff happens in books. Ever read Lord of the Flies? We had to in school, and it's also weird/violent.

As for your assessment of the child hitting their head, it's a possibility, I just figured that the kids handicapped in the first place, and probably shouldn't be walking/running, and there could be lots of stuff wrong with him.

I don't know why, but that completely reminds me of this strange movie I just saw, Mean Creek. It won all these Cannes film festival awards and everything, one of those low-budget independent films that supposedly does "amazingly well." I honestly didn't see the drama and thought it was one of the most horribly made films ever. Also, The Good Son was a terrible movie. That one was actually originally a book, but as usual the movie version was disgusting.

Anyone stoked for the new Resident Evil? I just watched the first one so I'd know what was going on. Haha funny movie! Did the video game come first or the movie?

First, there are 2 RE movies out now; Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse. They're both decent.

As far as having to ask if the game came before the movie, think about it. Resident Evil was on PS1.

Next time, don't be afraid to use Google. I'd also point to the fact that the game series has about 10 (at least) titles in it and none of them have any relation to the movie except for some back story info. There is no Resident Evil Apocalypse game.

Gah. I hated that book too. Although, I seem to get the feeling that Battle Royale has some base in it, and it's a fucking amazing movie.

And I think I have read that story, The Red Ibis. The story and title sound familiar.

and Luis, I have to look into that book. Sounds hawt.

As far as that goes, the depressing anime I watched fits in with all of these themes. Just a quick overview:

- Guy has a crush on girl
- Person he sits next to hooks them up but the girl doesn't really love him
- Hook-up friend likes guy
- Guy falls in love with hook up friend and out of love with girlfriend and never breaks up with her
- Guy fucks hook-up chick and abandons gf. GF goes into Zombie mode.
- Guy ditches gf and fucks other girl. Hook-up girl finds out and mopes.
- Guy fucks more chicks while Hook-up is mopey.
- Hook-up comes back to tell guy she's pregnant with his kid.
- All girls drop the guy and he ends up back in the arms of ex-gf, crying and appologizing to make things right.

That's as far as they're up to now. The final episode got delayed due to some murder in Japan, so it's assumed to be gory, much like the H-game it's based off. Should be interesting, eh?

Wow, loses all charm when I shorten it that much. At least it sounds interesting when I talk about it vs. type. Gesticulation and tone of voice make it work.

Strange Complements

I was told by a very attractive girl today after reading some shit in English class that I should do those "Books On Tape" shit, like that I had that voice for it. I'm not sure how to take that... I was like, "Thanks...?" No idea how to take that compliment, I've never gotten one like it before.

Then again, hot girl... she also makes cute faces while she calls me my Spanish class name. I guess it's easier than my real one.

which is Taco, btw. I don't even write my name anymore, I just draw tacos on my papers.

I always thought they were like the Harry Potter games...oh well

While we're on the topic of cannibalism, does anyone like the Hannibal films? They are definately up there in my favorites...Anthony Hopkins is an amazing actor. Fracture was also amazing. Strange how his character in that movie was so similar to that in the Hannibal series.

And while I'm naming movies I've recently seen, my friend just showed me a film called The Usual Suspects. I have to say, I've never been so surprised by an ending before. Damn, I wish the Favorites section of the ng profile edit was functioning.j

Hentai Artist

Every Hentai artist I know is either looked down upon because some poeple see hentai as a "lower form" of art/erotic art or because poeple view it as porn, if not that then they are worshipped like gods by hentai fans. What's your guys' opinions on hentai artist? Mine is: Every art is beatiful in a way, Hentai is simply another erotic art which some view as beatiful... or fap to. Anyone who has a problem with a drawing or boobs or a penis just isn't that mature or it goes agianst their "religion." But yeah... Bottum line Hentai artist are cool poeple...
