I like to challenge atheists, even though I am one, its just fun playing devils advocate sometimes. I find many atheists fall victim to blind faith just as much as religious zealots. So an atheist please argue with me for just a second.
I enjoy doing the same also. There's nothing I hate more than people who follow their faith blindly and don't think about it, regardless of which side of the coin they are on.
However, your argument goes a little beyond separating the seeing from the blind...
So please, what makes you believe in logic?
I choose logic as it feels right to me. I understand logic, I see logic working in modern society. Logic is a part of me.
Of course, the religious can argue the other way; that their god is/gods are a part of them, and they can see said deities working in every aspect of life. Does this flaw my argument? No, because I'm not attacking this way of thinking.
However, by my reasoning (logic), one way of thinking contradicts the other. This is my religious standpoint. As such, I can argue with any theist who uses logic to try and justify their belief, without digging myself into a pit.
If a theist said to me that they believe in what they believe in simply because that's what they believe in, I'd not only be confused by the statement, but my arguments would be invalid. To 'win' then, I would have to first convert them over to a more logical way of thinking, which would require logic. Thankfully, by my logic, almost everyone has the capacity to understand logic.
