Having looked at Metacritic, most of the complaints are that it's faithful to the book.. I assume those reviewers haven't read the book ;o But that seems a good thing, I want it to be faithful and I think everyone else does too :]

Its a browser player plugin, much like flash. The difference is it supports fully 3D environments and full hardware acceleration. This is all in your browser, you can fullscreen games and they still run really well, and Im using onboard graphics.

I seriously recommend you check it out, you wont believe how much more powerful it is compared to Flash. Previously the dev kit was Mac only, but the first Windows version has just been announced (or possibly even released?). That along with its obvious lack of player distibution compared to flash are probably the main reasons most people havent heard of it yet.

The guys that made papervision thing adobe should buy Unity!

Oh yeah its also supported by the iPhone.

I'd go to your wedding. Sounds like it'd be awesome. I could see you with a video game themed wedding cake.

Speaking of video game wedding. I thought this was a brilliant concept for a wedding theme. They actually used the angle of making it based on pixels. down to the wedding cake. It was kind of cool to read and kind of a fun reflection of the times and modernizing something as ancient as a wedding without totally butchering the spirit of it.

At least get some RSS?
The plugin is less pain than Flash to install. Two minutes and 10MB.

Why use RSS feeds when I can just go directly to sites? I don't like RSS.

I downloaded it.. it's ok, I can't see it becoming huge though.

Because you don't go to sites, evidently.

Uh...huh? Comparing it to Flash?
If you say Flash is more suitable for the incompetents we see around here then you'd have a point, but I think that the web scene is getting more organized (as in teams) so it's not at all impossible for games like that to become common.

Good job getting stuck in the past at 18 anyway.

That's arguable. I suppose he's not the biggest asshole on here in fact I'm probably a bigger ass but he's definitely no Mr. Nice Guy.

I surely do respect him.

And why is that. Is it because he's a good programmer or he pwned you and put you in your place like the rest of us.

He may not be the worst around but I still think he's an asshole.
Maybe it's just I always see the bad side.

At least he does try to educate people, maybe sometimes in a very blunt way like throwing the text book at ones head telling them to learn... but at least he'll have it on the right page for you :P

Speaking of which I guess I should give HaXe a gander now that midterms are over.

Oh I never said anything about that. Asshole to some or not he still is useful in the flash/programming forums. I just wished he would finish more games for Newgrounds.

You need a better topic.

I don't understand how people can find a way to admire me in any way. In real life too, as far as I can tell.

I don't feel like doing games much myself but if you guys can take it I can provide technical supervision and show what to do so we can make a more impressive game together (like a lead programmer).

I wouldn't mind having someone to bounce ideas off of to make sure my code efficiency isn't epic fail. Hopefully I can actually pump out a game within the next few months now that my work load has dropped a bit.

I had something more interesting (and painful) in mind.
Like an RTS game. You'll learn something about programming, and I'll be able to participate in making games for Newgrounds.
