That looks like it turned out great. Was it worth making that way both financially and taste wise compared to buying some frozen package?

How much are you willing to spend if you dont mind me asking. I probably spent 30 bucks on non meat ingredients. The thighs are gonna be the most expensive, but you can make ALOT of portions. Example, you could get 40 lbs of frozen thighs for 48$
You could make the recipe for a long time..

We buy a frozen pack of vegetables and the chinese chicken frozen for about $10 total. Its serves three of us for dinner with no left overs.
Just trying to compate the cost of that towards the ingredients. Looks like we actually have everything in the house already, but if it broke down to be more than $3.33 a serving then it wouldnt be worth it to me.
That and we only have this meal on a busy night of the week because its just 20 minutes on the stove.
Yours looks much better than what the frozen one looks like though.
Most nights are busy nights during the week so we really don't cook cook until the weekend.
i used a bread machine for the first time ever! This bread is soooooooo good.

another successful crockpot meal of chicken, potatoes and green beans. The spices I added to this one had my whole house smelling soooooooo good.
I give you my own recipe- Apple Relish
Apple Relish is a very cheap-to-make, simple recipe of how to use excess apples. It is comparable to Apple chutney, but uses freely available garden herbs, not spices and no added sugar, so it is not so sweet.  It is also comparable to apple sauce, but herby, where apple sauce is usually plain or spicy.  It seems to keep OK for three days in the fridge, but contains no preservatives.
Ingredients
200ml Water
500g Apples
1 level teaspoon salt
40g mixed fresh herbs such as mint, marjoram, lemon balm, chives, fennel. Not too much of one herb.
Peel, core and chop the apples. Chop and bruise the herbs.
Put all the ingredients into a pan and boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If necessary, mash the apples- they only need a light press with a fork.Â
Serve -In a side dish with salads, meat, barbecues, adding interest to sandwiches etc.
Oh shiiiiiit it's ya boi Porkchop with my first cookout since my daughter was born! Marinated chicken leggies, marinated pork belly strips, and roasted garlic smoked sausages. Not pictured is the rice and green beans! What's good, everyone?

I respect that folks mix apple and pork all the time. Honestly, it's not my cup of apple juice, as it were. I don't smoke with apple wood, either. Like, I get how the flavors are supposed to interact and why it's supposed to be enjoyable, but I can't get into it.
it was warm enough out today to fire up the grill; filet mignon and chicken with a mesquite seasoning, not pictured is the baked potatoes and creamed corn side dishes, 11/10.

Ugh, you killed me with this picture when you sent it to me on Snapchat. I was on break at work and wanted it soooo badly. I still do. Save me leftovers, bb.
It's all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits.
My girlfriend made an Indian pot pie from scratch last night.

I've been just eating peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast and oatmeal for lunch all week. It's kind of my staple diet when I'm hitting the gym hard.
Sorry no pictures, it didnt last long enough for me to get pictures.
I think it was called dragon noodles, but I was just following a recipe of something I never made before.
It was lo mein with a sriracha, soy sauce, and brown sugar mixture for a sauce. I also cooked up some bok choy, green onions, and shiitake mushrooms to go in it.
It made 7 servings, but I only got one bowl because everyone loved it so much. It turned out amazing. Its going to get added to our usual meal rotation.
Triple post fat. They don't sell perogies where we live for some reason so we made our own from scratch.
Ok, I'll let someone else post after this one. Made eggs in a basket for the first time ever. I reallllly liked them.
The only cookie cutter we had that was small enough was house shaped, but they turned out so good.

Yeah, it's really basic. You just butter both sides of a piece of bread and cut a circle (or in my case a house) out of the middle. Crack an egg into the hole and flip when you think it's cooked to your liking.
I kept them runny for me, but my daughter didn't like that so she gets scrambled ones from here on out.
Then collect the little buttered cut outs and grill those on the stove too. Make mini grill cheese sandwiches or little egg sandwiches, or whatever.

Our Veggie lasagna always has a white sauce. I'm not sure if I've ever had a meatless one with red sauce.
Had a lot of nettles to clear from my allotment so decided to turn them into a nettle and lemon cake.
Added double the lemon juice to the icing for extra zing. Tasted great and I can pretend it's healthy too.
We didnt cook tonight. We got a few hours without the kids so we took advantage of it.
Pictures sideways for some reason.
Slow cooker three bean chilli.
Tasted delicious. Served it up with tortilla chips, sour cream, and shredded cheese.
Easter funfetti Bundt cake!
Also making broccoli salad 🤤
