The fifth day heatwave...
Like I sleep in a deep grave,
Wake up. All the same.
No air condition,
Can clear the air within this,
Thin house on a plain.
Maybe if you choose,
To endure: you get used to
About anything.

Heat wave and I'm like
Get out of here sunshine I
Want some rain again
Heatwave day number...
I don't know now, but it'll
Go down as the last.
Rely on other
Appliances than those that
You don't always have
Hazy morning wake.
Too early for my sake but,
Maybe not for work.
About time I leave!
On vacation, now rationed
Way not overseas
It's summer you all!
Have a good one, be free, do
What you need to be
im more of a winter type of guy and cant wait till then but thanks
I've not written one for here in aaaaaages. Back on the topic of drumming, since I last wrote about it here, my passion and skill have deepened. This is now more accurate.
Body and spirit
yield their loudest song of joy
to the drum's tattoo.
I apologize
for interrupting the stream
I felt like only
you guys could appreciate
this the way I do.
But I sipped tea as I posted this.
Please continue.

Hi everybody! :)
It's nice to be back, even though I'm not really back. I'm just stopping in to revisit a place... ;)
I'm impressed and quite frankly a little proud of how well this thread has done since I opened it over 6 years ago. Thanks all for your continued enthusiasm.
I may pop in from time to time when I'm feeling the haiku enthusiasm. For some reason for me, reading haikus is quite relaxing. As this has become a sizeable catalogue, I've found myself simply browsing to kill time. Good work everyone!
I figured since I've been lurking the last couple days, I may as well make a sneaky guest appearance too.
Anyhow, let's keep it going!
Here's one more to make up for a fraction of my absences...

From sins of such scale
and shame of such magnitude
there is no return.
*sips tea*
An ancient remnant
From a long-forgotten past
Rises from the depths...
Are we worthy of
Such a visit, we who keep
The torches burning?
Every beginning
Has an end, while each ending
Renews the cycle.
All is as it was;
Minutes, hours, days, and years—
The music plays on.
*sips green tea*
Sun and noise outside
Where is my real life hidden
Will it ever shine?
Oh, and you can make up the title for yourselves.

That kind of comment's one that almost inspires one to get back into that daily haiku grind once again. :) Cool to see you stopping by too. I agree the occasional feed haiku's a form of meditation in itself, content-dependent of course, sometimes uplifting, sometimes sobering, somethings something else.
