Yeah, but power and heavy metal is not really my style. The only power metal I can stand are Nightwish and some Blind Guardian.
nightwish is symphonic not power, power is fast stuff like dragonforce.
you want a way to sum up great metal, anything signed to nuclear blast, they got all the best bands in the world right now.

Nightwish is Symphonic Power. Power isn't defined by speed. Lyrics about elves and knights, and clean vocals do the job, melodic riffs and lots of atmosphere makes it Power.

The Korn loving guy, what kinds of metal do you like? What bands specificaly (sp)?
I like KoRn (obviously), Alice Cooper, Disturbed, Mudvayne, Mushroomhead, Slipknot, Murderdolls, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Guns N' Roses, Def Lepard, Velvet Revolver, 9mm, Rage Against The Machine, Soulfly, Static X, System Of A Down, Adema, Slayer, Kittie, Hatebreed, Pantera, (hed) PE, Mr Pill, Drowning Pool, Killswitch Engage, Papa Roach, EARLY Limp Bizkit, Deep Purple..................... (the list goes on and on)
Is that enough, I like alot more and I like alot of non metal bands too.
I fell like adding a little bit more,
Dope, Megadeth, Fear Factory, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, White Zombie, Metallica, The Space Kittens (my band), Taproot, Adema, Saliva.....(still more bands that I can't think of right now)

Well, in all honesty, your list doesn't really impress me, except a few bands(KsE, Slayer....), but that doesn't mean you can't be in here, I think that you just need some advice for some other music ;) Oh well, as long as you hear at least some good bands, it's fine :)

Thanx for letting me in, but you guys have to realise that everyone has different tastes in music. Just because someone doesn't like a band, doesn't mean they suck. I respect all of your favorite metal bands and you guys should respect mine (those aren't all of them, there are a couple more)
But how could you not like Alice Cooper (he is a performance/music god IMO)

Sure I do respect bands you here, like Korn for founding nu-metal. It's just that I don't respect bands like Limp Bizkit, a band which main goal was making tons of money. You also hear some hair metal, that's fine too, but I just think you need some more different stuff. It's good that you hear to a variety of different styles, but there's still a lot left that you should try out :)

I don't hate Alice, he sure as hell does have lots of talent, it's just not my style, though I like some of his songs.

Ok I know what you mean, I do hate Limp Bizkit for selling out, but I belive that they didn't sell out until the 1st albulm got famous. I also dont like ALOT of Hair Bands. Most of the hair Bands I mentioned on my list were bands where I only liked a couple songs by them (of that I've heard). I put them on the list to show the variety in my music tastes.
What non-metal bands do you guys like? (i'm not sure if I asked this before or not)

I understand. Well, Limp got even worse ,that's true, I especially hate his crappy cover of "Behind Blue Eyes".

I like some 80s stuff like Toto and The Police.
Well Now we know eachother a little bit better LOL.
I just noticed that you have over 10,000 posts! DAMN! LOL
I read in earlier posts that you like Soilwork, I like them too, I forgot to add, them (I feel so dumb)
Has anyone heard of the band Skinny Puppy, they're more Techno than Metal, but they remind me of some weird form of Death Metal but like Industrial Techno Metal (does that make sense?). Can you guys tell me what genre they are (if you've heard them).

Yeah, I like them a lot, especially their last 3 albums.

Skinny Puppy is pure industrial, as far as I know, I don't know them well, but in case of industrial, I like Fear Factory. I'm not much into Industrial other than that.
I just love Death Metal, I like most stuff from In Flames to Vomitory.

I may get crucified for this but I'd have to go with Metallica. I can't really see a linear progression from Kill'em All to St. Anger. They sold themselves faster than whores on 1$ night.
Well, Batermaster, I love A Perfect Circle and Tool. I also like some Beatles, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains (you might consider them metal, I have no idea what they are).
Yeah! I've been to the Metalist Festival! Here are the bands that played:
Armilos - Don't remember them.
Azazel - They are fucking awesome! The first black metal band in Israel and probably the best. They rocked! Thye only problem was that they were the opening band and so hardly anyone got to see them since many haven't yet arrived. They should have switched places with Leavoth.
Behemoth - Man, the best band I have ever seen. The moshes were so voilent. They took up around 10 sq metre and there were like 30+ guys in them. The were so freaking awesome! The bassist has this BC custom bass that's just beautiful. He plays with three fingers! Nergal kept on talking about how great Israel is. Well, he is used to sissy europeans...
Betzefer - Pretty good, haven't heard much since I was taking a walk.
Damnnation - A good heavy metal band. They don't play that fast and when they did get to fast parts no one seemed to want to start the pits. I ended up starting around 75% of the mosh pits.
Distorted - The moshing was awesome as well as the music. The chick is good looking so that improved the show a lot.
Evergrey - These damned Ever gays didn't come. Well screw them, I wanna see them get a 2000+ crowd so easily in Sweden. Behemoth rocked so at least we had one good band from abroad. Fuck you Evergrey!
Lehavoth - They should have been the opening band. They sucked. You could barely hear the guitars over the drumms and the growls\screams. I just can't consider such stuff music.
Loud N Clear - A great rock band. They were the last band so there was a very small crowd. They gave a freat show nevertheless. They were extremly good. Stupid organizers got them of stage before the started the last song, something about the fact that the concert must be stopped before 6:00 !M. It was just 5:30 AM! The organizers were assholes.
Matricide - Don't remember.
Orphaned Land _ I was siiting outside talking to a friend but from whhat I've heard they are good is you like oriental metal.
Salem - Gave a boring show. I didn't like it a bit. The music was too loud and the sound quality was crap.
Manowar Tribute - After Behemoth and Azazel this was the best. I did my two stage dives during that show. They did play kinda crappy, they really messed Hail And Kill up but on the other hand everyone was singing along, the moshing was insane and I was standing right in front till my first dive so I got a good view.
Overall it was the best night of my life. The whole thing took around 10 hours, 10 well spent hours. I saw so many people I didn't expect there, like this cool girl who doesn't really like metal(Pantera's heavier stuff sounds like a bunch of noises to her). What the hell she was doing on such a show I have no idea. She did have fun though so it's all that matters.
Hmmm, just actually thought ofg a decent metal band name...
Rot In Pergatory (from the whole RIP thing brought up last page).
Oh, and on KsE. I think the new singer sucks. His clean vocals are terrible compared to the other dude, and i just dont like his screams either. Plus on the new album the band took a more emo turn lyrics wise, and the music in general just lost its appeal.
Oh. Your. God.

Get Clayman, I have it and love it, it's their best CD.
JackOfShadow, looks like you had a very nice concert. But the Evergrey thing sucks, they should be a pretty good live band.
wait for the special editions before yo do anything though really, its worth it.

That's true, I got the Wages Of Sin special edition and the special from Fear Factory's Digimortal.

Hahaha you guys will laught at me.... but who cares ^^ Hey I always tough Alice Cooper was a girl!!! Hahahha, sorry for that lack of Knowledge.
Hey Batermaster as I said earlier to you..... this crew is more about Metal group.... and sadly most of your pick aren't consider as Metal at All... I'm super glad you didn't mention Linkin Park cuz they aren't Metal ether.... anyway I won't had anything to what VOmitory said, he went around the question.... and by the way, I like some Rap, R&B, Hip Hop group... in fact I luv listenning to Trance in my Car with my 900 Watts Speaker but on my play list, 98% is Hard Rock and Metal.

From your first list... I had too say... *Berk* pretty commercial your stuff and 90% isn't Metal at all... well to me KoRn isn't a Metal group.... but anyway, your second part of the list (the one that I quote) is a lil better... still pretty classic. I know you didn't ask for one but let me give you an advice.... Try someone "underground" stuff, you would see more cleary what is "real" Metal and what we are in to.... so then after you would more understand our way of thinking ;)

Sonara Artica, Nightwish could be consider.. but mostly Sinergy stuff is Power. Anyway for DragonForce.... great pick! I love them!

I'm doing so many mistake.... :'(
Sorry for that all, I hope you'll understand what I meant earlier....
ohh and P Metal, Rhapsody are mostly Hollywood Metal but they could be compare to some Power Metal Band, same as Kalmah.

Yeah, everyone was so pissed off. People went around talking about how much Evergay sucks. There were jokes spawning about them. Damnit I wanted to see them but some dumbass swedish ass probably messed up flight scadules or something.
