HB, you should hear the 'Knots new song Vermillion (not pt2 though that is an awesome acoustic song), it seriously owns... it's darker and A LOT more melodic than pretty much all of their stuff

I have to agree with ya there Matt, except i liked them straight off.
But you have to admit, it is funny when the vocals get so fucked up that its just "ra. ra. RAAAAAAWL!" but i love that bit because it kicks into an awesome instumental / solo.

-Childrem of Bodom (You may not like the vocal part but Alexi is more of a guitarist than a singer. Anyway their are just the best Metal Band I ever heard!)
-Rhapsody (I know hollywood metal, but it's still metal)
-InFlames (Since there concert in montreal and in san fransisco I just luv them! Simple riff but it sounds great!! Man Made God is the best example)
-Cradle of Filth (Gothic Metal, all their cover are amazing and the meaning of their song are just fantastic)
-Blind Guardien (I've seen them with CoB last month, I wasn't really liking them since that concert. Their old song are the best! I personnaly like their "soft" song, I think they sounds way better with it)
-IronMaiden/Metallica (If I can, I'll use those 2 as if it was 1 spot in my top 10 because I like their music. They have made so much classic I just can't forget to mention them.)
-Slipknot (Only because their "2" official CD (not IOWA by the way) was full of great song and they were between metal and hard core rock so I think they diserve a place in here)
-Static X/Racer X (2 different band but still have the same kind of style of music so if I can... I'll put both on my list.)
-Pantera (Like Iron et Metallica they just show the way to many of them, they are good and I still love many of their song)
-Klamydia (I accidently heard about them when they made a cover of CoB. I think that this german metal band may go far... Listen to the cover they made on CoB!! ;-) )
-Nightwish (11th on my top 10 for the luck. This group if you don't have the chance to know him as 2 totally different style! Their Neo Metal with the girl singer is more about the style I prefer from them. Wishmaster,Wonderlust,etc.)

May absolute favourite. I love them more than any other band, oh, and their riffs are sometimes simple, but in most cases they are damn hard to play. I'm a guitarist, I know how hard those can be :)
If you like them, try Soilwork, they have a similar style and are awesome as well.

I like old Metallica better than Maiden, but new Metallica sucks a lot.
