Get them immediately! They are similar to CoB, but not a copy-cat, I actually like them even more. Get "Moon Of My Nights" as an example.

Kim was in Nightwish? Since when? Hah.
Well, that's what the site I went to said...Sorry if I'm wrong.

You were parcially right... Kim use to cover the soft Nightwish... but they've fired him (or he may have leftf, don't know the full story).
Anyway, no need to apologyse ;)

The soft Nightwish? I'm a little confused.
And they fired him? I thought that Nightwish's singer was a woman...

That's the thing about their band... nightwish have 2 singer. One is a Man, and one is a woman ( I personally prefer their style when they use the woman, their Power Metal, Style)

Good :) Well, their style is little different, but that's mostly the vocals, since Kokka's voice is deeper than Alexi's.

NP: Amon Amarth - Bleed For The Ancient Gods

Kalmahs a good band, but noone can beat Bodom's intro riffs. I like how Kokka sings just a little bit more that Alexi because he sings low and high which mixes it up and keeps you interested. But Alexi's a better guitarist.

Well from your name, I could have told you were for CoB all the way! WrathWithin have one of their best riff around 2:30.

Yeah, but i think Wrathwithin is a Slayer song that COB did a cover on, or the other way around im not sure, but thats why i chose the name because 2 of the greatest bands ever play it.

Well, I like the all around sound in Kalmah mostly better, but yes, Alexi's solos are incredible.

Well, anyone knows the solo in In Flames "Satellites and Astronauts" at around 3:20 of the song? It's one of my favourites, it just sounds so awesome

actually its kind of nice to have a band that I can learn the tab to in about a day and it still sounds sick, COB is kick ass but im not at that level yet.

Indeed, but one of the easiest songs to cover that's still great is Sepultura's "Orgasmatron"(Motörhead Cover). My band already based a song around the sound of this one, simple and awesome.

Oh, BTW, my favourite Bodom song is "Everytime I Die"

Silentscream is the cover song not Wrath within. And im listing to In Flames: SaA, it does have a nice solo, its not fast but its melodic.

It's a sweet song, I got the Clayman album, where it is on.

NP: Amon Amarth - Masters of War

awesome.

speaking of clay, there is a semi-older band called the Clay People... they are awesome, a mix between Disturbed, Static-X and CoB (what I've heard of them)
it's cool, Car Bomb is prolly one of their best songs

they kinda sound like and old school slipknot to me, but when i looked them up disturbed, static x, and slipknot where the only things to come up. I can't hear any type bodom sound in them, i guess there ok if you like that kind of music.

Same here, I can't find Cob. But it's not too bad, if you enjoy Nu. Nothing for me, though.

That makes it even less interesting for me, sorry, never liked Slipknot.

Yeah, they got many good songs, I also love their "Hellion" cover.

some Industrial at times is lovely :)

Next song: Amon Amarth - Death In Fire

Thats a great song. I dont have a favorite but i like bed of razors. Its the first bodom song i heard and it got me into guitar. I can't get enough of that intro riff. Its a genius song and they exucuted it perfectly. I also think its one of their best guitar songs.

Response to Metal Hell 2004-08-18 17:31:39

children of bodom are kewl! i like bodom beach terror best!
