Ya you already know that the verses are out of context. But for those who are wondering what they really mean, here are some explanations.
-"Do not resist the an evil person." The whole passage:
"You have heard that it is said ' an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth'. But i tell you do not resist the and evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn and offer the other."
What does it mean? For example, If someone punched you, the MOST you could do is punch them back. BUT you could forgive them!
Anyways i would forgive them because God's way of punishment is way better! I mean God flooded the whole planet to punish sinful men!!
-"if your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away." The whole passage:
"If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better to lose on part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."
What does it mean: It means that you should take anything that cuases you to sin out of your lives. If porn makes you want to rape a girl, then have absolutley nothing to do with it.
