If anyone knows how to make the rollovers appear faster (like NG does in their header) please fill me in...I'm using javascript inside the img tag to swap out the src value, but it's really slow.

A few niggles.
- I notice that some boxes seem to have all the text right-aligned, others left-aligned. Can't work out why. Seems slightly messy.
- Add Event/about/go!/go, go, go buttons are kinda boring. I can't be arsed making more buttons for a while. If anyone else feels like it, they should.
- I'd still like the month/previous/next buttons duplicated at the bottom, just above the 'add event' bit. Mainly to save a second each time I scan a month and move to the next. If others disagree, that's fine.
- would being able to see the entire year be feasible?

The rollOver effects are really impressive and seem fine to me. At first the header was all messed up, until I thought to clear my cache.
Coding seems amazingly impressive to me.
Last point - if we do want to have the possibility of having a retro calendar, we'd better take all the images sometime soonish. (As opposed to hotlinking.)

I really don't want to open up that can of worms...not just content-wise, but size and uniformity also (ie: jacking up our layout, or squashing submitted pics to fit=bad)...plus I haven't learned how to upload pics yet :P

New month,year text using the "official NG" font Luis garnered for us.
How does it work you ask?
PHP passes variables with the correct month and year into an swf file which has the full font embedded in a dynamic text box.

My idea was to have it sort of like the NG sunbeams and have the words, 'event details' in the Newgrounds font. But I need the font from Luis if I want to finish it.

I dont like how much space is needed for the art, i think you could just make a quick and dirty thumbnailish size and have people conform. Otherwise you're opening up a whole can of worms and people will do ugly shit.

More brainstorming. I dont think we need that header up there. Its so deep into the calendar that if you dont know its newgrounds by now you should be taken off of life support. Maybe just borrow motifs like that cityscape.. maybe make it seasonal looking.. anyway like i said this is how i brainstorm.. i simply am posting it here because i felt lonely.

Thoughts: getting everyone to submit a pic along with every event seems a bit overkill. And if it's up to whoever's writing about their b-day to make a pic for it, we're gonna get some really ugly ones.

Those are really nice mockups, but I think bezman is right that we don't want to let people submit personalized pics for their events...I was thinking more some sort of sub-header that would ALWAYS show on the event details page...maybe a set of sub-headers that rotate randomly just saying "You're now looking at an event's details." Just so that one page, the "viewdetails.php" page isn't so boring.
