Cant you use featured item? Thats what i used on my mocks... i dont have em here at home. You could get em from BoM i suppose.. although its a commercial font.. im sure tom will yell at me if it is like totally freebied out..

Well, heres my idea for a event details header banner. I just need the font to put "event details' across it. Sorry bout the bad quality. I don't feel like making it better quality right now.

Well here, use Featured item. Tom probably payed for a custom font or whatever, so he's not gunna want it passed about. Featured item is pretty close.

Ok, I made a header that goes atop the event details pages. I'm no Stamper, but I think I emulated the NG sunbeams pretty well. What do you think?

I'm getting frustrated at the flags not being used.
I messed about with some layouts. If you put a search button on the left and re-order the icons/date selection thing, then though the flags may be slightly below the fold, they won't be hiding anything else.
Also seen are where the radio buttons would be, with 'select all' written beside.
For the flags on the add-new-event bit, I'm not sure whether it'd be possible to fit in all the names, as I wanted. Could we have those toolTip style things pop up immediately as you roll over the flags, to help folk find their own country? There may not be any good way of displaying all those names when some are ridiculously long.

Yeah, it's emulated really well.
I kinda like the current NG header more though and I'm not too keen on the idea of having 2 banner-style things.
I really like how luis's design has contrasting shapes and no big bits of grey.
I made a crappy mock-up of what I thought it could look like. Not as appealing, but I thought it would be better to allow folk to write swathes of textual details if they wish. I basically reckon it should be pretty much like luis suggested, but with a permanent pic instead of specific ones.

No, no. Its for only event details pages. And it wouldn't replace the NG header, it would just be above the event details.

Sorry, been busy with other stuff...that's the bane of community projects....no promises on when they'll be up I've got a lot to do this upcoming week.
This might have been brought up before but I was very happily surprised when I saw that the available the flags was the American, British, Scottish... and the Swedish..? ^^ How come?

I made those flags first, as I'm Scottish/Iranian (and the Scottish flag is easy), US is a popular country (as is the UK) and Sweden's national holiday had been mentioned. So you have whoever put on the Sweden national holiday to thank for my flag-making choices and Bomtoons to thank for the whole implementation.
Bomtoons implemented those, and I went on to draw around 143 more, but Bomtoons has neglected the flag-implementation for the remainder.
Btw, happy Sweden day. I wonder what you do...

Okay, I'm reviving this long dead thread with an update!
UPDATE:
Since 07 is half over I've opened up the calendar to accept submissions for '08! Yes, this means you could be the 1st to submit Christmas or Hanukkah for '08! We need all the popular events for the year filled in. This is also your opportunity to fill in your Birthday for the upcoming year.
FYI: I've been receiving a pretty steady stream of events even after this thread faded into obscurity, so people are actually using it!
To Bezman:
First off let me apologize for not getting your flags into the calendar, I know you spent a ton of time on them. To make up for it, I'm committing now to get them in there, but I'll need you to send them all again as individual .gif files along with a corresponding .txt file with all of the names comma separated. So, right now we have:
flag0.gif
flag1.gif
flag2.gif
flag3.gif
And a text file that has this in it:
"u.s.","greatbritain","scotland","sweden"
You just need to duplicate that pattern with the names of the gifs and the text file sequence.
