You're probably right. Rust In Peace is probably the highest-point musically of both Megadeth and Mustaine, but in my opinion its about their third best album, with Countdown To Extinction and Business is Good being the top two.

I can't remember 100 percent sure, But I think Mustaine's favorite album, or figures it the best done album, is Countdown To Extinction.
Which IS a fabulous album. A lot of my first favorites came from that album. I especially like the lyrical theme to it.

Also for those who may not know, their next album United Abominations is scheduled for release on the 20th of March of 2007.

Do they keep pushing it just to piss me off?

Yea... That's the proabbly the reason they keep doing it.

And supposedly there will be a cover of Zeppelin's Out On The Tiles (From Led Zeppelin III) on the album.

Taking a good song and probably making it sound better.

Eeeeek. If there is one thing I never liked Megadeth doing, it was doing covers. I kinda dread how it's going to sound...

I didn't mind the 'I Ain't Superstitious' one they did on Peace Sells. Mainly cause they pissed off the guy who originally wrote it :D.

What sort of reaction should I be anticipating? I haven't much of their more recent stuff, only up to Cryptic Writings I think.

Same thing happened when they covered get this... Nancy Sinatra's, These Boots are made for Waling in their debut album (it was actually pretty good).

But I don't think it will be that bad, I mean they're covering Led Zeppelin. Besides I Ain't Superstitious is a Blues Song and Nancy's song was nothing more than a pop song, so I think the cover song will turn out ok.

I think Dave may be a bit more respectful about Led Zep too.

I think Megadeth will cover it very well, but I should just not think about what it will sound like when I hear it incase I get really disappointed.

Well, I guess I'll be getting United Abominations for my birthday, as it's the 1st of April.

So, horray for me.

Well, IMO two of the three albums released after Cryptic Writings ( Risk and The System Has Failed) were good not great. The World Needs a Hero is the exception which again, in my opinion is their best album since Youthanasia.

As for United Abominations... I don't know what to expect. I expect another good album (after it is Megadeth) but that's as far as I'll go. I don't want to get my hopes up only to get a dissapoiting record. I'll just wait for its release and comment on it afterwards.

Money well spent. Its actually a pretty difficult album to find in some places, but I'm sure you'll love it once you listen to it a couple of times.

I can't find Megadeth T-shirts for love nor money.
All I seem to find are the usuals, like Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica and Motorhead etc.

I'm not going to bother with the Megadeth greatest hits album. Some good tracks not on the album and I prefer to get all of their studio albums. :P

Greatest Hits albums are for people who want to check out a band in one sweep, or can't be arsed buying all their albums.

And I know too well you're obsessed with buying studio albums :P.

22-25 bucks isnt that bad, considering most shirts cost 18-20 anyways. Or 14 at walmart.

over here in Sydney, theres one metal shop i go to to get all my albums, and they sell shirts...only thing is they cost like $30-$50 for a shirt or a hoodie...i only have ever bought myself a Stratovarius shirt from there that cost me about $35-$40..i cant find anywhere else that have any cheap band shirts!

or band shirts for that matter.

Response to Megadeth Fanclub! 2006-12-28 04:41:04

the SHIRT cost 30-40? Jeez. Also, I dont think I've yet to find a Stratovarius t-shirt. Then again, I never actually really looked very hard for one. I know the band shirt place dealio near me can have jumpy prices. But I got my Megadeth shirt for I guess 22-25. Most are around that price.
However, I am pretty close to denting my wallet, considering buying a Tyr shirt over the interwebs. But I wanna get a girls long sleeve shirt, which is 18.50 euros.
D: we'll see.
But ya know they are always worth your money. They are the kinds of shirts that look better the more battered up they are, and always tend to carry a lot of stories with them. You keep them around forever pretty much.

True, but I just concentrate on studio albums too much and not care about greatest hits (the only greatest hits album I have is Nirvana's, lol). You never knew what awesome song could be left out on a greatest hits album. I wouldn't call Greatest Hits albums pointless with the exception of those gay "Best of" albums Roadrunner made.

And I know too well you're obsessed with buying studio albums :P.

Haha, yes.

Haha, yes.

For some reason I have something against getting studio albums, because if I get one, and I decide I like the band and want to collect more, I feel like I waste my money a bit when I purchase another CD with the same tracks.

I know it's incredibly stupid.
Now if I wanna check out a band, I get what seems to be their best studio album, based on reviews and stuff.
When I came to looking up Megadeth, that method lead me to Rust In Peace.
