There is simply nothing much to talk about there. Metallica are more interesting.

.... Even though we sometimes go off topic.

You use the term 'sometimes' very loosely...don't you mean we go off topic for at least 2 pages?

We have over 30 pages, 2 is only sometimes.

Everyone knows Megadeth are perfectly awesome already, so there's nothing to discuss!

I left the internet about a month ago, cos I had a load on. I still have technically left, but I just popped back to see what's on the discussion in the C & C. General forum's got nothing for me anymore though.
Im glad people still kinda care about this thread, as it keeps needing to be re-bumped. :P

Are you going to assign a new leader of something?

It seemed to have lost a little interest about a week ago.... But it's still going strong.

I dunno. I think i'll be lurking around the C&C quite ofte, for Metal Hell and DT crew aswell as this. We'll see how it goes. If I feel i'll be leaving for good then i'll sort it out, and I probably will stop coming altogether in a month or two.

Lmao im back from the dead!

Perhaps a topic of conversation is in order, so allow me to update you with all things Megadeth in my life:

Haven't listened to them for a while, then heard the demo for Sleepwalker from the upcoming album. I must say it has a bloody killer riff! I prefer it much more than Gears of War, which is just meh.
So yeah started listening to the guys much more again, and some may be suprised that i've been listening to Risk quite alot. Its not half bad. Of course I dont listen to it when im in the mood for metal, it does good in other moods.

I was trying to comprise a list of my favourite Deth albums in order, from best to last, but I havent heard anything post-Risk so it wouldnt be a definitive list. No doubt Rust In Peace goes at the top for me, though.
I was also thinking that Youthanasia could possibly be my least favourite, if it weren't for A Tout Le Monde, Reckonng Day and Train of Consequences. They're the only songs I really enjoy on that album. Some of the songs towards the end of that album are so awful to me.

Most played song for me to date is Sweating Bullets, at a play count of 10. I know its a pathetic amount, but recently my iTunes library was fucked so play counts were erased.

Ok, I don't believe you about Sleepwalker's killer riff now.

Mine would be.....

Well, the only time they get more plays is if I stop in the middle of an album. So it wouldn't really mean anything.

Ashes in Your Mouth is still my favourite Megadeth song.

Yeah I see what you mean. I usually listen to albums entirely, but on the odd occasion I listen to a particular song.

Ashes in Your Mouth is still my favourite Megadeth song.

For some reason that song reminds me of Holy Wars. Its like a slower version its got kinda the same verse pattern.

Heh, Risk is only awful to the ultimate metalheads. Im a bit more open to different varieties of music, and im pleased by different sorts of music. But i'd still say metal is my preferred taste.

Nevertheless you should check out Sleepwalker.

Well, my taste ranges from metal to...... Metal.

Well, Brutal Death Metal to Melodic Progressive Power Metal.

That's pretty broad......

Me too, but TSHF is still great. Fuck you if you say it sucks.

I'd probably need to be more of a Megadeth fan in order to like Risk, but nope, I couldn't enjoy Risk at all. :( But that doesn't mean I'll hate any other experimental albums like Risk (e.g. I like Helloween's Chameleon that a lot hate, but I like it).

Im a bit more open to different varieties of music, and im pleased by different sorts of music.

I do my best to try and like some songs I hear from rock/metal bands that don't sound like rock/metal. Like Dream Theater, their pop-ish songs, I am able to enjoy most of those sort of songs from them.

I think it's more of a case of branching out your music taste more, rather than being more of a Megadeth fan. I dont believe in liking stuff just because it's by a certain band.
Thing is, im probably not as metal as most people who post here and the Metal Hell. My music taste changed dramatically over a year, so I still enjoy stuff I used to listen to, and other stuff you wouldn't expect metalheads to listen to. That's probably why I like Risk.

My taste is well broad. I do listen to Metal most, but thats only cause of Dream Theater, Blind Guardian and Opeth really. Besides them I love Instrumental music (Buckethead), Classical (Beethoven, Parchebel), Acoustic (John Frusciante, Jeff Buckley), Funk Rock (Chili's - though I do enjoy the less Funky stuff more), Prog (Mars Volta, Radiohead), Alternative (The Cure, The Smiths), Rock, Blues, Comedy.

I love everything. Making me better than you :P.

Haha. There's only a select few netal bands that make me enjoy metal too. Dream Theater, Megadeth, Blind Guardian and Helloween.
D'you not like Joe Satriani? He's probably my favourite instrumentalist.

I used to bum Radiohead, but I find them a bit mundane now, especially since I discovered the more powerful stuff in metal music.
But im still a big fan of those old 80s disco classics, new wave, britpop and other nostalgic stuff.

He's like one of the few that I don't like. I dunno.... I just don't enjoy the whole 'surf' thing. I prefer Buckethead and Gilbert.

I don't like the stuff after Ok, Computer, when they went all faggy and electronic. Fuck that >:(.

I mostly like metal (heavy, power, progressive, speed and thrash), rock (classic, hard and progressive) and there's some 70s/80s music other than rock and metal that I may find interesting.

That's because you don't understand about atmosphere. Doom/Black Metal are based on atmosphere. You focus too much on substance.

And on the subject of non-metal likings..... I have to admit I enjoy alot of -core bands, mainly Hardcore and Emocore.

Converge and Behind Crimson Eyes FTW!!!!
