I remember the show, Medabots. I remember watching it every Saturday morning when it came on. I'm disappointed that they took it off, though. It was a fairly good anime, in my opinion.

Woot! Fanboys unite. Lol, but on a serious note, Evangelion has also struck a tone in me. Good mix of surreal, abstract, and reality. The ending felt a little squeezed though, but other than that, I loved it.

I am still keeping my 10-year old promise of killing Anno.

:Lol, jk :P :P :P :P :P

5. Death Note: .....

Ahhh, i'm loving this series. (note the present tense verb, due to the fact that I'm still not yet done). The first two episodes really gripped me, the plot rose interest, the characters are interesting, and the animation is very smooth (remember Kira's initial writing scene in his first kills)?

That's nice. Too bad only a couple of people will watch it. :\

On another note: The series finale of School Days was supposed to be released today, but they canceled the broadcast.

It'll be shown on December 25th. HOLY SHIT, worst case of current blue balls in my life.

On to the whole topic of people re-posting their ten favourites list, I may as well join this bandwagon too.

1. Ranma 1/2: I am sure all of you have heard me rant enough about how much I love everything related to this series (perhaps with the exception of the middle seasons and Richard Cox's take on our titular transsexual), so I shall spare you further rambling.

2. Lupin The 3rd: Took me a few years to truly appreciate the series, but it was well worth it. I could honestly watch this damn show every day of my life and never get bored. Bonus points to Geneon for their fantastic dub cast and amusing script re-writes.

3. Cowboy Bebop: I have easily seen it 20 or so times in its entireity (likely due to the fact my sister absolutely loves it to death, possibly more than I do) and would watch it 20 more times. The characters are nothing short of memorable and the brilliant writing makes each episode top-notch.

4. Hellsing: Sure, the TV show did completely fall apart after episode seven, but the strength of the OVA series and the quirky drama of the early episodes of the show keep this one near and dear to my heart. Few things blend better than surreal humor and ultraviolence, throw undead Nazi armies and a Hell of a lot of religious trivia on to that and you get the makings of a masterpiece.

5. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: While not my introduction to /m/, it is the first mech series I bothered to watch every episode of and I must say, despite not having seen more than three episodes in the past five or so years, it still ranks in as my favourite.

6. Black Lagoon: I had middle of the road hopes for the series initially, but I was proven dead wrong the second I popped the first disc into my DVD player. Insanely over-the-top heroine + modern-day pirates + Nazis = brilliance. It blends the likability of Cowboy Bebop with the weirdness and brutality of Hellsing for most satisfying results.

7. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: An action series with brains and humor, I would have never dreamed such a thing could exist. It does, and it does both well, on top of providing some weird-as-fuck violence. It also manages to give us a horrid English dub (with the exception of Roger Jackon's flawless Hol Horse and Andrew Chaiklin's great Dio) and Daniel J D'Arby, the most imposing villain never to actually kill anyone...ever.

8. Black Jack: The original detective doctor (suck it, Gregory House) is, in my opinion, Osamu Tezuka's greatest creation (suck it, Astro Boy). Black Jack (particularly Osamu Dezaki's Clinical Chart OVAs and theatrical film) is an anime that defies being pidgeonholed with a genre. It has moments of fierce action (gunfights, fistfights, warzones, etc), light-hearted comedy (any scene involving Pinoko), melancholy romance (our good doctor has a few ladies after his cock, but most of them are either crazy or end up dying) and sheerly amazing samurai badassery (you read that right, there are samurais in Black Jack).

9. R.O.D: Hideyuki Kurata is the best writer in the anime biz these days (see also: Hellsing Ultimate, Excel Saga and a few other real gems) and his paper-filled spy/action epic is a must-watch. There's illogical villains (reanimated Beethoven?), illogical plot twists (IS IT REAL NANCY OR THE CLONE? IF YOU HAD SUBTITLES ON DURING THAT LAST SCENE, YOU'D KNOW!) and some really awesome music.

10. Scrapped Princess: Is the best fantasy anime ever, 'nuff said.

Hahaha, you think I would?

Priority #1 at the moment is Hellsing III, after that the only thing standing between me and the rest of Ranma is the long-awaited Ninja Nonsense complete series boxset.

Still have the game, couldn't solve some puzzle though so i gave up.

The fucking disguise system is pissing me off, but I'm liking it so far.

Wooden kanes are hardcore.

Proper spelling is hardcore too.

Hahaha, I'm an asshole.

I only watch Lupin the 3rd in dub.

The subbed version isn't bad, but it lacks zazz.

I never watched the whole series

Really?
Kill yourself....

Oh im most certianly watching this then.

Everyone should, it is the best anime of 2007.

The only good thing from Shonen jump.

Debateable claim there (Bo7 and Kochi-Kame are cool, as were the first bit of Death Note and One Piece).

I just watched an episode of Astro boy last saterday actually, i didn't like it.

I loved Astro Boy when I was a kid, but the series hasn't aged well and isn't as awesome as Tezuka's other stuff (save for the incessant appearances of Duke Red and the episode with Black Jack).

R.O.D was one of the few animes that grabbed me by the balls and got me hooked on the plot and it's characters.

Ball-grabbing is serious business.

Im getting that hopefully soon, it looks pretty damn good to me.

Get it now, srsly.

I loved the film and the manga very much, but Black Jack is a bit better in my books.

Not to mention the film version of Metropolis is actually radically different from the manga, and the fact that Tezuka refused to have it produced during his lifetime.

Yes, but the anime was a damn sight more similar to the Fritz Lang version, which helps it, in a way.

Well, one does need to imply on some specific traits to embark on this journey.
Maybe you'll do fine on the frontlines, but we need to see what you can do for us, first.
Al though, it might seem though at first, I'm pretty sure you can make it through and be a great addition to our fandom.
I just hope maybe then our sub-culture then wouldn't be filled with people wanting to be something they can't, and just be themselves for once. So I ask of you FistOfBlood, what is your profession?

Someone post the requirements. I'm too lazy entertaining people.

I just finished all available episodes of Bleach (1-142) and I was wondering what other good anime is out? I've been addicted. And the types of anime I like are along the lines of these:

Bleach
Deathnote
Naruto
D Grey Man
Claymore
Dragonball (all but GT)

I would like to get into anime that has something to do with magic or something like that. Like Full metal Alchemist (I know it's not exactly magic but still. Or wizard kind of magic.

Any suggestions?

Just finished reading volume three of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and I must say I cannot wait to read volume four now. The damned cliffhanger endings just get more and more tense.

Also, my Urusei Yatsura DVD arrived, and I was pleasantly surprised to find six pages worth of translation notes (in the form of recipe cards) inside the keepcase. This novelty item will no doubt become somewhat annoying as the series goes on (I've got 49 more volumes to go, so that means in the end I will have 300 pages worth of mostly unneeded information). The first card even advises you to purchase one of those filing boxes to store the future notes for "easy reference".
