The board is there, is it not?

I see that as an attempt to usurp my power and turn this into an extension of 4Chan.

The board is an option I have given everyone. Though I would be happy if it comes to good use, I will not force people to use it as it is up to the individual's choice and not my own.

As you know, "Anime" as the world commonly knows it is not limited to simply having shows on TV or in movies. There are sub-cultures which have stemmed from it such as card and video games based on a series, model kits, drawings, fan-comics and imitating a character via costumes. And because this club has grown considerably, I believe that the concept of a larger board to further major topics for discussion would be helpful to keep track and make discussions easier for members and newcomers alike.

Which is why I made the board as an extension of this thread to cater for mixed interests like PlaMo (Plastic Modelling), CosPlay (Costume Play) and music. This way, members can have a more organised environment when discussing their interests with relevant sub-boards for various topics.

Whether it becomes an extension of the Image Board you claim to hate so much is entirely up to the members/users, and if you insist on wanting to rule over everyone's freedom of speech (subject to key rules and local laws) like a totalitarian leader then I would discourage such on the board I made much like how I discourage bad spelling without implied intent (or a decent joke).

The board that I made is out of date, but you have my word that I would discourage it from being a mass of bad use of languages as you have insisted on it.

Holy fuck, it looks stunning.

Yeah, when I was watching Paranoia Agent I was like "Wow, Kon actually tried to make his characters more original looking, and realistic".

But then of course as I see the rest of his films I discover "Oh wait... It turns out he's going to use the same exact style in every one...".

Somewhat disappointing, but doesn't particularly detract from the spectacle.

And it is nice to be able to distinguish between characters by things other than hair colour and clothes.

I've been thinking. This club needs to be ran more like the Marine Corps. So, I'll be accepting applications for line backers.

Notes to aid in the understanding: Field Day is a once weekly thing where you have to clean your room, most units do it on Thursday. A Corpsman is an enlisted medic in the Navy, the Marine Corps has no medics of their own. According to Navy Medical, Motrin (aspirin) and water will cure anything. Reveille (aka revelry) is it 0530, and when you are supposed to wake up (this does vary by when you have to start working).

At 7/31/07 10:21 AM, HaroFreak wrote: If you think Gundam VS Z Gundam is by far the best application of the Gundam Franchise, I highly recommend that you import Gundam SEED: Rengou VS Zaft Portable or the PS2 Equivalent and its sequel. Not only have they fixed the ridiculously slow pace as well as improved on the "Kakusei" System, they have also given the option for unlimited Kakusei AND Thruster for more intense games.

That seems to be the popular favorite along with A.C.E.2 and SRW on /m/. I'd have to buy another PS2 and mod it but I can't at the moment unfortunately. Otherwise I'd import so many games that it would take me over two years just to play them all. But yeah, having limited thrust really fucking sucks.

There are several released in the form of the G Generation Series and a smaller title for the PS2. Though the gameplay for the games mentioned are nowhere as 'playable' or true to the TV Series as compared to Rengou VS ZAFT (Original, 2 and Portable as well as their Deluxe versions).

Noted.

Gundam Musou has one of the best things in timeline merges which Bandai/Banpresto is famous for; Unexpected teamings, ranging from Char and Amuro coming to terms with each other all the way to Domon, Zechs and Ple teaming up to fight.

I'm actually looking forward to a bit of Puru Two and Kamille Bidan on a team. Most of all Domon and Master Asia. Buying a PS3 JUST for that game. The trailers and art of it are beyond amazing for anything in the Gundam franchise. Maybe it'll grab some awards from some uptight magazines or so.

I am thinking that is is more of a lack fo understanding and respect of their songs because America or any other country would not have the powerful fanbase that the Japanese fans (age all the way from 12 to 60s because of their long history of songs).

It is a shame either way. The only true way is to spread word of their great songs along with the series that they are from. That way not only JAM Project will get a bigger fan base here stateside, maybe some companies here will license some more mech titles instead of the generic series that seem to come under license.

Besides, JAM Project is not only known for songs for Robot Shows. Kageyama is the same person who sung the openings for Dragon Ball Z, for example. They are better off singing in their own hosted concerts much like how Squeenix can have the famous "More Friends" concert back several years ago.

The Shin Getter Robo VS Neo Getter Robo OP that they did is fucking... amazing. Too bad I'll probably never see them live stateside. Have to go over seas to Japan then. ;(

Why not get the eye-opener HY2M model of the MS-06? It's a massive 1:12 scale which stands over 5 feet when fully assembled.

I'll have to do research on it then. I wanted to have one last year for Halloween for fun. Possibly talk some friends into buying some Zaku I and Zaku II suits or make their own. It would be swell.

That has become pretty typical Bandai habit to me, since it was the same case for the first Gundam game for PS2 (labelled Journey to Jaburo in the foreign releases).

I actually liked that one. Even though the controls were very sluggish and most of it sucked it was actually pretty cool playing a 3D Gundam game for the first time.

I want to post several more right now, but like I mentioned earlier, it will be a day and a bit more before I return to Hong Kong.

You've had time... >: (

Just buy the Box-Sets online, don't bother with waiting for an opportunity which would not likely return.

I know. That and Best Buy only carries the box sets of Wing and Seed/Seed DESTINY[gag...kinda]

Plus, you would be compelled to replay the first appearance of Char's Zaku several times before continuing to watch, not to mention the debut of "THIS IS NO ZAKU, BOY! NO ZAKU!".

Exactly. One cool thing I found when playing MSGvsZeta is when you open up the Newtype Research routes you have to fight Ramba Ral. 'THIS IS NO ZAKU BOY! NO ZAKU' Oh man... I ROLLED AND CAME AT THE SAME TIME. But he was piloting a Marasai and I was in the Baund Doc[Jerid Messa]and beat him no problem.

And without the Super-Robot cliche's even. A shame that it got shortened down much like the original Gundam. <_< But Tokita's version of the ending, Jamil Neate's backstory during and after the Seventh Space War as well as the bonuses he added (Gundam Party, anyone?); those are a must-read.

I'm at episode ten now after waiting a good bit of them. Still playing MSGvsZeta... A lot of good mech shows seem to get shortened down before their time. I'll have to try and find those reading materials you mentioned.

I always find it funny every series has a Char type character in a sense. Jamil was a dead give away.

At 7/31/07 04:01 PM, Mendou wrote: Yeah i remember watching that quite a few years ago, it stopped right when they were just about to settle things at A Baoa Qu.

About where I was two. It's hard for me to remember a lot of it because I missed half of it due to after school activities and clubs at the time.

I heard about that one, it got bad ratings by the end and stopped after 39 episodes.

Ended before it's time.

The GX-9900 and the Flash System has one of the better adapted concepts, considering that the Moon's Microwave System in the UC Timeline was only seen used for recharging colonies though it was seen with the intent of flinging another colony down in 0083.

Exactly. They could've done more with the A.F. time line then what they did with just X. But I will say that X has the best overkill in any mech series I've watched/read so far. I mean good frigging god, O-V-E-R-K-I-L-L.

I read the manga and fell in love with it's story and the characters. Their skills and not to mention the art of it all is much better from what I saw in the anime.[Granted I've only seen a few clips of the anime but in my case if not most of the time manga wins over anime]

At 8/2/07 07:38 PM, Sense-Offender wrote: I watched the first 4 episodes of Basilisk. It's a fun, bloody action show with some strange and interesting characters. I noticed a couple characters were actual historical people.

That's the cool part of it for me. I like history of pretty much anything and that really threw me for a loop when I started reading it.

But what the crap is up with Tokugawa Ieyasu? He's got a scrotum for a chin! Also, it was strange that Shougen grabbed Yashamaru's crotch in the first episode and nobody said a thing. They didn't even seem to have any reaction to that at all.

I'm looking to get my hands on some Gundam Crossbone sometime soon. Hopefully by the end of this week.

Hard to say, since the animation style might be the selling point and not the jokes themselves.

You know how it is with Gainax these days. They can have the most absurd concepts only to be redefined by over-the-top animation.

Whether they will be using jokes directly from the 4-Koma is unknown to me of course, I am just making that assumption based on how many 4-Koma-turned-Animation turned out (like Azumanga Daioh, though the jokes in the original are known to be better but even better when animated).

Alternatively, maybe the jokes will make more sense when animated.
