Was EOE full of nothing but boobage and a really mind shit plot that was bad?

Well, how good the movie was in vastly different from person to person (like in this club). Compared to the anime's ending, it was good. It had the robot vs robots vs army action ending that the series needed. It has lots (all except 2) of character deaths.

I personally think it wrapped everything up nicely, with Shinji basically getting to decide the fate of humanity. Either everyone becoming one being or keeping everyone separate (separate people can hurt each other). Just as preachy and philosophical as the series.

It also has Giant Naked Angelic Rei with a vagina on her forehead. Lots of baby making imagery near the end.

EoE is one of the worst films I've ever seen, the story was incoherent garbage, it was just for shock value and to spite critics, etc.

Also, Josh, best...fucking...sig....ever.

Big Black are Godly.

Or so all the reports by fans go.

But over the years, it has become apparent that Gainax was hiding their winning hands, especially with the newer debuts (Top wo Nerae! 2 and Tengen Toppa T) and Rebuild of Evangelion looking like a promising release in September 2007.

Question about Battle Royale.

Is the movie worth it?

I'll have to go to great lengths to find it.

Well I'm not sure about this, but:

"The last arc's budget

A Gainax representative allegedly went to 2chan to promote the series, posting some storyboards for episode twenty six (now twenty seven) and some sketches of the characters. This representetive also claimed that the five final episodes of Gurren-Lagann, as known as the "Garlock" or "universe" arc, constitutes 40% of the series budget. Meaning, each episode will be of the same quality as fifteen, if not better."

Not sure how true that is, since it didn't have a reference. And you'd think the sketches would accompany it (unless those were the episode 16 ones).

It would be cool if it were true though.

Episode 27?

I agree with you on all points.

Gainax seems to improve with age, every new production tops the previous one in sheer amazing win.

Rebuild of Evangelion is visually appealing (judging by the trailer) and despite my general dislike of the franchise's forays into cinema, I am quite willing to give it watch.

If it turns out to be as good as it looks, then that shall make for a pleasant suprise for a jaded ex-fanboy like me.

Yes and no.

Yes because it is very entertaining, stylish and has motherfucking Kitano.

No because it is not nearly as dark, caustically witty or graphic as the novel and manga.

I'll have to go to great lengths to find it.

That I severly doubt.

Any import video store (online or otherwise) worth it's salt has a copy.

If the buildup stays true, then it would be Gainax which shouts "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?" to the whole world, thus redeeming all of their infamy and making the whole industry break for that one brief moment.

I bet a countdown has been established all over Akiba by now, though it's a shame I cannot witness such in person.

Gainax has and always had potential, though two of their works (namely Top wo Nerae! and Evangelion) suffered from poor budgeting or simply lack of budget which caused their last episodes to suffer greatly and therefore draw out infamous statements. I am sure that they are not 'stupid' like many people think and they were simply pressured severely like many animation companies.

Rebuild of Evangelion is visually appealing (judging by the trailer) and despite my general dislike of the franchise's forays into cinema, I am quite willing to give it watch.

I think of it as a grown Gainax's second chance, and I have faith in their abilities in making a big hit which can even surpass Sunrise in terms of quality, style and execution.

It did seem like they were saying this word a few times.

And gothic loli is nice.

They even made a manga/anime focusing on it.

*Ouran High School Host Club.

It's an awesome series, one of my favorites. I wish my computer didn't crash and loose all of the images I capped from it and... yeah.

Bought Gundam: Zeonic Front today for about $7.00. Shame that neither copy had the guide book to go with them but I can't be picky. Glad I found it overall.

Sweet, i used to have that game actually, after some misunderstandings though my copy was gone but i had Federation VS Zeon instead.

Federation VS Zeon was great, but my personal favourite was that Zeta Gundam game that came out not too long ago.

Besides This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, I also got Oruchuban Ebichu. It looks like a Shin-Chan version of Hamtaro, though it came out before Hamtaro.

So can you guess what Sound Name they give this device? (yay for translations that cover the cultural stuff at the beginning, with the FLCL episode 3 classic running music in the background.

Hahahahaha, how's that impressive?

Just because I like overly-long one-joke comedies doesn't mean I have no range when it comes to taste in humor. That said, my taste in any form of media is questionable and nonsensical in its ridiculous variety.

I quite enjoyed the movie, and found it quite worth it.

I read the first one of the manga's when I borrowed it off a friend, and found it to be a little too gruesome for its own good. I mean, when somebody gets shot in the head, you hardly need to show him as losing half his face.

I'll have to go to great lengths to find it.

Seriously? Every video rental place that I can get to within half an hour carries a copy of it, some carrying multiple.

That's like... 7-8 video rentals.

But then again, I'm only a member of 4 of them...

I kind of meant that those two shows, especially Ranma 1/2, are funny as hell. So calling a show a great comedy would mean that it must be really funny, like equal or greater than Ranma 1/2.

I bet they got the Balls of Fury idea from Ranma 1/2.

That said, my taste in any form of media is questionable and nonsensical in its ridiculous variety. I don't have any specific genre liking either. I like Shin-Chan, GaoGaiGar, Ouran High School Host Club, and Fate/Stay Night. The only real connection to stuff I like is comedy, but even then there are plenty that aren't centered on it.

Ebichu is genuinely funny, in fact, in some ways, it's funnier than Ranma.

Varied taste in the arts is good, but mine is insanely varied.

I'll listen to anything from Biz Markie to Cannibal Corpse, I love cheesy shojo manga and serial killer novels, etc.
