Major win right there. Pretty much everything you need to know has been said aside from Berserk. But I don't know if you'd like it.

Yeah Berserk is a good one, I watched a few episodes online. I technically do not own Berserk yet, but I ordered the complete DVD set a few days ago. It will arrive soon.

Also, why only dubs and do you just watch the dubs on your DVDs or do you prefer the subbed? I can understand if it is for the purpose of supporting the series and companies.

Like I said I am picky. I don't understand a word of Japanese. I like to watch movies where I can understand what the characters are saying. Whenever its subtitled I keep having to pause the movie because I am a slow reader.
I try to weed out good anime from bad anime by watching whatever I can find online. But the problem with that is free videos usually come in bad quality, subtitled, variety of languages, and missing large chunks sometimes. So when I find something I like I try to buy it in the format I desire.

Excellent excellent. I had them on VHS but my VCR ate them so I did the same. The remastered version is excellent. Both the subbed and the dubbed voices are great. Well, maybe except for Gastons voice. Reminds me too much of Goku. But Chris Sabat will always remind me of Goku no mater what voice he does.

Hmm, understandable. It's a shame though because some dubs (IMO) have terrible voice actors and don't suit the character at all. I'm sure you've noticed this. As for me, this is one factor and the other is that at times it seems that the english voice actors just don't capture the emotion of the characters like the japanese voice actors do. It's as if they are just there to say their lines, pick up their check and go about to the next episode or whatever job they have to do. Richard Cocks and Johnny Fucking Bosch are two of my examples and I despise their work to the fullest. Bosch was great in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, other than that no. I mean he tries but it's a poor attempt at that.

Richard Cocks, never again...

Sorry for the rant but I don't get to vent a lot about this matter.

Even then there are sites out there that do show good wholesome anime that is very well dubbed and in good format. Check your PMs if you will. But I must say you're missing out on many a good series just by watching dubs.

To each their own though. I hope you continue to find more series that suit your tastes that are dubbed.

~

So on episode eight of Turn A Gundam and about to start episode nine. This is a good feeling if I'm getting chills this early into the series already. Might turn out to make me feel how G Gundam has.

When the earth people were hating on the moon race with Loran there it made him snap. What he said afterwards was so moving. It made me tear up a little.

And then there's the fact that if a Japanese voice actor is bad, it's a little harder to tell due to a lesser knowledge of the way real Japanese people speak.

True true. It's probably a preference with subs over dubs with me if I've seen the series subbed first. But that is usually 80% of the time. There are great dubs out there as well. Outlaw Star, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Vampire Hunter D, Berserk, G Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam, etc...

Yes. I'm about to start episode sixteen after this post and Sochie is still pissing me off with her talks of Loran and how a Moonrace shouldn't be piloting Turn A.

YOU CUNTCAKE. YOUR WHITE DOLL IS MOONRACE TOO.

Fuck, it's like I can feel Lorans pain when she is doging him about being Moonrace and how he doesn't say anything back.

Guess I better accept that I'm becoming gay then...

So, I started playing Fate/Stay Night, and did the Fate route already. Pretty fucking awesome. So, I am thinking about watching the anime. Lord know it will be massively better than the Tsukihime adaptation... But that doesn't exist as I am so often reminded. I guess I must have hit my head somewhere, because they are convinced that Tsukihime never had an anime adaptation.

Anyway, Saber rules and Gilgamesh IS KING!

I tried doing that after playing through the Fate route.

It's a very underwhelming show. I found the action scenes to be far less exciting in anime form than they were in text and picture form.

And then there's that annoying fanservice where they keep reusing shots from the visual novel.

Wow... hi! It's been so long I feel like a virgin posting here. *sigh*
Well hello everyone who knows or cares who I am. I miss this place so much. It was home for quite a while.
While I'm here I should stay on topic. As for anime I haven't watched anything new for a while... It's sad.
Lack of money has caused that. I do watch stuff on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim sometimes. Not my favorite method let me tell you. I have bought a few Studio Ghibli films though. Loved Howl's Moving Castle and Nausica of the Valley of the Wind. Finally seen the Ghost in the Shell movies. Also Appleseed Ex Machina was pretty good. Actually own all these on DVD. That's odd for me seeing as I'm known to...borrow anime. Plan to watch Inuyasha: Final Act pretty soon. REALLY excited about that.
As for manga there's sadly not much there either. I'm almost finished with Hunter x Hunter, Tsubasa Chronicles, and xxxHolic. I'm trying to collect all CLAMP manga I can get my hands on. The highlight of my manga expirence lately has been that I found a way to read Urusei Yatsura. That has been my manga dream for quite a few years.
Anyhow, it was nice posting here again. Probably won't be back for a bit though. If anyone wants to say hi, go ahead and e-mail me. The address should be in my profile I think. Miss ya'll!

Yeah Berserk is a good one.
Excellent excellent. The remastered version is excellent.

My Berserk DVD set arrived today! I ordered the Hellsing complete set, and the Ghost in the Shell: SAC box set.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions, and for being very polite. I will leave Ya'll alone now.

Atleast you could do is update your profile. You were gone a long ass time that you could your know, do a little updating for however long you're on Newgrounds for. Oh, and word to the wise, I don't think a single person here likes InuYasha. Be a bit grateful that the type have changed and we're not as elitist as we once were. As in add a picture, create a blog do something. When you haven't been on a website for over 3 years and that site goes through a massive change in layout, you should at the very least explore and take advantage of these new features.

Good to hear! The OVAs are better than the series when it comes to Hellsing but both are enjoyable in their own aspects. GitS SAC is fantastic as well.

I like everything from Green Green to Hellsing to Ghost in the Shell. You name an anime and i'll watch it or at least look into it. Age group and popularity have nothing to do with my choices. If this club was about "the anime I like is better than the anime you like" then it wouldn't be a club at all now would it?

I guess they are, I've had them for about two years & vowed to never watch them until I watched Turn A. Fiinished it the other morning at 7am. I was determined to finish it before I went to bed. Picked up at episode 28 and it was all awesome. Turn A and Turn X's battle at the end is amazing.

With the movies, they are LITERALLY a animation recap of the entire series. The subs I got for it are horrible. Will Jim - Willgem / Moon People - Moonrace / Name mispellings like Juseph and many others. Miscalling of people as in the wrong names. Just a complete mess so I only skimmed them. :/

But I have discovered a series that I think I'll come to enjoy as I continue it. It's called Michiko to Hatchin and it's very stylish so far, love the wild fun of the op song. I'll talk more about it once I watch a few more episodes.

Do keep us informed. Maybe I'll pick it up because I'm about to drop Hidimari Sketch. I just can't get into animes like this anymore.

Also, with Turn A about the black history... FUCK YEAH DOUBLE X!

Now, I know I'm not a full-fledged member here, but I'm just wondering, why do people hate the Tsukihime anime so much? Granted, it skips over much of the story, and rushes through the ending, but what do you expect when you've got to fit in a 40+ hour visual novel into a twelve episode anime? If you watch it from the point of view of not having played the game, you'll notice that it's a pretty good show with some interesting character development. And you have to admit, the opening and closing songs for the series are just incredible.

I'd recommend Shingetsutan Tsukihime to anyone... just not people who have played the game.

Also, I just started Fate/stay Night as well, though I've only just started the Fate path. And I was really starting to like Rin, too...
