Lets see. At work I listen to heavy metal or punk. This doesn't draw too much attention from my workmates. Although the wierder stuff raises thier eyebrows (most notably, anything by Buckethead, although I'm sure that when Amazon finally send me that Dethklok album it'll get thier attention too...). But after a certain point you just stop caring about other people's musical taste, or how they see yours. I own the three MCR albums, and I don't personally care what people think of that.

ill happily express my dislike for MCR, but i will never judge you on it. same to any other music or person, i sometimes get remarked upon for having japanese heavy metal on my collection along with techno rock and some jazz from my friends, and from others, just for generally listening to heavy metal, especcialy the non-english stuff like swedish, german and finnish bands

Collabs

I understand how some of you feel with alot of threads about however I think it may be because alot of people are bored, or don't know know what do with Flash and this would steer them in a direction.

When I started my collab (not going too well though...) I could have done it by myself, as that was the original idea. However I thought it would be nice to share this with NewGrounds as there aren't very many game collabs. I think I may be regretting my decision, I've got some good people who are enthusiastic but I don't have enough people.

Maybe they should make collabs go in clubs & crews, or start a new forum for them.

Not that much though. I have more classier stuff like Serge Gainsbourg and like VH1 stuff and some local songs.

You bring up a good point John. It's not whats "good music" it's purely personal taste, which is something some people don't understand. Of course, while I respect everyone opinion to like whatever they like, there are some types of music and some genres that I will never understand how people can listen to them on an hourly basis. It's stuff like buckethead actually, I LOVE it, but damn man...I got to be in a mood.

I listen to mostly electro DJs and obscure dance music made by people no one has heard of it. I love the dance. Anyone else like dancing?

I really do hate MCR. I'm sick of them being classified as "post-hardcore gods" when all they are is crap emo. If you want to hear some real post-hardcore, buy some At the Drive-In or something...but MCR is such bullshit.

That doesn't mean I hate people who listen to MCR and call them emo fags, I just think that the music sucks. So please don't take any of this personally!

If poeple judge others by what music they listen to then I must be screwed up to a lot of poeple. (in more ways then one). I listen to Heavy Metal and Country most of the time. Thought my fav bands are Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000, and Aqua. :/
I think judgeing someone by what music they listen to is just another form of stereotyping.

I only DLed the newer MCR cd because their song "Dead!" was in GH2 for Xbox and it was decent, a lot less emo than the first one.

As for getting commented on my music taste, my spectrum is very broad. I've got some shit like Finntroll (Finnish metal), I have some Maximum The Hormone (Japanese Metal), Rammstein, Nightwish, all that shit, but then I'll mix it up and throw in some Akira the Don (His new CD is crazy good), maybe some Anime J-Pop intro shit, anything but CUNTRY. I can't stand it. I mean, having 5,000 songs on your iPod allows some choice :3

Also, dElta, the Dethklok CD came out on the 25th, I'd tell you to check it out if we have the same taste in music. It's nice :3

I have such an odd taste in music :3. My favorite band is Reel Big Fish, they're the only band that I can listen to all their songs without skipping some. I love Weird Al, have since I was 11. I've got just such an array of bands on my mp3 player that I really can't point out a sense of music I like.

Well...my favorite music is Industrial Metal,my fav band being Rammstein.I also like some hardcore electro (like Alec Empire :D) and electronic music in general.I also like a very little bit of rap...so LITTLE bit at it only means Cypress Hill (but I wanna hear Sen Dog's band "SX-10" since I think it's totally more my thing).

It's not nice. It's fucking Brutal. The remastered songs are to die for.

But if you are going to buy the Dethklok album, and you're annoyed that Amazon doesn't have the Deluxe version, do not buy it from iTunes. They're missing two songs (Duncan Hills being one of them...) and two comedy sketches. Which is pure dildos.

Collabs

I realize that our topic on it kind of died, and I'm surprised that something which I helped start would get that big, but truthfully it was something that need to be discussed. I'm not really trying to bring it back by the way, but if you'd like to still reply about it, you can. So I'm just wondering what's going to happen about this. Is someone going to mention this all to Tom in a PM? Will it be the next topic at the mod meet? I'm just wondering if someone like Luis would happen to know what the next action will be. It's really all up to him of course, but I'm suspecting that he has been aware of the problem for a while. I hope so at least.

I'm a jazz fan myself. It's such a broad category that it's hard not to find something enjoyable that could fall under the category of jazz for people.

And I also like classic rock and some of the new age rock stuff.

I dislike almost all kinds of death metal or rap or hip hop, there's only a small amount of that that I like.

Techno is fun but it all sounds the same.

But ya man jazz.

I'm a big Miles Davis buff. Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong. Represent. I'm actually pretty big on ska, which has a lot of roots in Jazz, Reggae, and some Blues. It's great. Since you like Jazz, I'd say try The Specials. If you like Punk Rock, try some Big D and The Kids Table (tis a long band name) or older Less Than Jake (Hello Rockview is great).

Try Lords of Acid to cure that. They sound NOTHING like anything you've heard before. Ken Ishii is also very unique sounding, but people like Paul Oakenfield get old fast.

Mostly, I like metal, though. Shadows Fall, Avenged Sevenfold and such. I really like death metal. Trivium, In Flames, Necrophagist, Children of Bodom, Nevermore and all the technical shit like Dragonforce. I'm a guitarist, so I'm really into fast arpeggios and such.

Don't put those two together though - metal and punk are a terrible combination in most situations! Haha, "metalcore." You know what I'm talking about, shit like Killswitch Engage. The only metalcore bands I like are Atreyu, Death by Stereo, early a7x and some As I Lay Dying songs.

Meh. The bottom of the barrel. Learn to Appreciate the Sex Pistols, The Living Dead, Suicidal Tendencies, some NoFX, a bit of old Rancid, with a pinch of Bouncing Souls. All those bands are kinda emo/crappy/whiney.

One of the punk bands that I listed was Strung Out - their label is actually Fat Wreck Chords (Fat Mike from NOFX).
