lol noob.
Also, something just clicked:
With that vote, you now have 7,160 experience points. You need 7,510 more to get to Level 27. The next Grounds Gold day begins in 16 hours, 11 minutes, and 23 seconds.
What!? The!? Hell!? I need to over double my experience to level up!? It'll take over two years! That shit is just bogus. It must be some kind of error. Please thell me it's some kind of error :(
dELtaluca what program are you using to creat the graphicts for taury?
its my own programming, im just using OpenGL API to render primitives and all the per-pixel per-vertex calculations are my own:
please don't make the mistake of thinking its flash

bleh, this was my first time using API, and I didn't want to use Denvish API drawing thingy so I had work it all out myself. Getting the mines to be circular was deceptively hard =P Flash needs a drawArc command, like Java.

Well that explains a lot. :D

Kirk... what happened there? 520 lines of code is all well and good to boast about but a collect the dots avoid the walls game with barebone graphics? Its just not presentable as a finished game...
1'ed. Oh. Congrats on the modship to you and Kraig as well. Knew I was forgetting to say something when I got back...
So it looks like I'm staying here again (assuming I don't get kicked off for 1'ing a mod's game...). Anything important I miss happen in the Reg Lounge over the past four weeks?

lol, why's everyone so obsessed with the graphics? It's hard to draw using just code without help from Denvish. Guess I'll have to cheat and use that next time. But that sorta defeats the point of me trying to learning API.

Not really, the last like 10 pages have all just been about the redesign. =P

It's been the norm... arguments, conversations... that's about it.
I've gone and become an SSBB addict... what to do, what to do...

I was also upset over the gameplay as well. I used just as many words slamming that as I did the graphics. Asteroids died in the 80's
It's a good show of skills I guess. And you can work out API drawing using graph paper if you want to do something really complex. But Denvish's tool is there to be used, and it's quicker than rolling your own.
The major problem I have with this is that it looks like something I'd make following a tutorial or download from Flashkit. I'm hoping I'm right in saying you didn't spend too long making it and were really just wanting the API practice.
And besides. To get a game running really fast with really complex looking graphics we all know you should use as simple a vector shape as possible and a Bitmap fill ^_^.
Before the redesign

Weren't there discussions about a UK Meetup? I remember posting here and a map being drawn but I didn't follow the rest of the thread.

Yeah I made it because NG was down. It was something do, ya know? I only really submitted to test how the system worked now. I'm guessing it updates the number of reviews once a day as it still says 0 reviews, despite having 9. Also I don't have the patience to draw out the graphics out on paper. =P I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to making games. I can never be bothered to fully test them and remove all the bugs etc. I'm always like "This is taking too long, aw fuck it, submit". I really should do something about it, but I just can't be bothered.

lol probably. We're always saying we should but we never do.

That's a pretty big assumption, Slammy.
HP Sauce
So I saw the new Harry Potter film t'other day. I gotta say - I really think it's a lot better than the last two. Where three and four seemed like basicly being generic, 'look what we can do' CGI things, this one had a lot more awesome CGI free stuff like rebelling against the establishment, oppressive governments, psychological duelling and plenty of thinly veiled sexual innuendo (the mate I was sitting next to has just about the biggest preception for that kind of thing imaginable, so it was fun to sit through the film basically laughing at every other line).
Don't get me wrong - it's not the best thing ever, and there are a few glaring ommissions like no explanation whatsoever as to how a group of underaged wizards managed to both instantly be able to ride flying magic horses of death which only two of them had ever had experience with before, and then instantly be inside the heavily fortified Ministry building without running into any guards or anything, but if anyone was slightly frustrated by the one-generic-CGI-scene-after-another format of the previous films, it's probably worth seeing this one.

We should definately make an attempt to organize it now that youre a mod though... id like to swing by across the pond in september. It'd be cool to sit down and discuss our bannings and plots against users. Im thinking that comic con next week and capturing it all on tape will sort of motivate people to begin thinking of each other as people rather than these random screenames... i dunno maybe im a dreamer but i think the flash community is a very interesting one because we're all creative people and it isnt like some aol chatroom or some shit where random people waltz in and out..
