Why good sir, it is a fine establishment where us Brits can indulge in that most esquisite of foodstuffs, Fish and Chips (what you Yanks would call battered fish and thick french fries). Normally served in old newspaper with enough salt and vinegar to kill a sperm whale. Last I saw though, most people were frequenting Pizza shops to get kebab meat or Parmos rather than going to the Chippy.

Age 16-18 (During A Levels) - Greengrocers section of a small supermarket
Age 19 (Summer, First Year Uni) - Bouncy Castle Supervisor and mini Argo Cat driver for an Entertainment company. Also got trained by them for recreational casino work (BEST summer job EVER!)
Age 20 (Summer, Second Year Uni) - Barstaff for a Cafe
Age 21 - Actionscripter / Flash Monkey

For those that don't know what an Argo is...

Chips are British for 'fries'.

Employment
I'll work someday.

Fav Superheroes
Spiderman - he doesn't have the greatest or strongest superpower, but he possesses enough strength, web-slinging power, and agility to defeat enemies. Plus, his movies never get old.
The Human Torch - he's a human torch, what's not to love about that? If he actually existed in real life, he could be part of the Olympics torch ceremony. :P

Batman Villains

Yeah I just loved the wierdness of all the characters, they all had this wierd feel to them that make them stick out from any other superhero/villain universe. Scarecrow, Two face, Riddler, Joker, Clayface - they're all awesome. I'd have to say the Batman comics and cartoons (not the shitty ones) were always my favorite to read/watch. I thought Batman Begins (the newest movie) was awesome in the way that it reflected the world as a whole and I can't wait for The Dark Knight (sequel) - it's actually filming in Chicago right now, or soon at least. One of my friends was lucky enough to be an extra for one of the scenes but I can't remember when that's happening.

On a different note, I'm really hoping the new Fantastic Four movie doesn't fuck up Silver Surfer, I've always wanted him to be in a movie, but I was hoping he'd have his own.

I hope they don't mess him up but I bet they will based on the fact that the first Fantastic Four movie sucked balls.

Jobs and shit

Well, I worked my first summer at camp when I was 14, started getting paid for working at camp at 15, and now at almost 17, I'm looking for a real job during the off season while still getting paid for camp during the summer. So, 14 was when I started working was physical labor bitch work too, and not getting paid.

But now that I have a car, a girl friend, and all around wants, I need a more readily available source of income rather than $15 bucks a week from allowance.

I doubt it. Because a job is doing work for pay. All your doing is putting an Ad in the game. So for it to be a job you'd like have to sell the sponsor all rights and stuff. But i may be wrong. :P

I agree, doing commission work is, but getting sponsorship (like ArmorAttentionwhores) is available for anyone and you don't really have a set income (then again, you don't with commissions either :x).

Either way, sponsorship really isn't a job.

Employment

Jobs are for sell-outs. >=]

First job was at a nursery watering plants. It was a great job, I'd just kind of amble along watering plants, totally absorbed in my own thoughts. The only parts that sucked were lifting big bags of manure into trucks and weed pulling.

I also worked at a preschool for awhile, that was fun too. Little kids are great fun. =]

Meh. They're okay. I still like being able to swear and yell, so working with older kids is a bit more natural and fun to me.

Plus, there's a vast array of things you can do with older kids that you can't do with younger kids.

But I work all summer with little kids, so I agree, they aren't too bad.

I don't much know the story behind carnage.
But isn't he spawned the same way as Venom
Or is related to venom somehow.

Eitherway, my moneys on him being in the next one.

Carnage is a mix of spiderman and venom (at least through the ultimate comics...) so hes got all their powers (which are basically the same anyways) and he looks cooler. And number Spiderman four might not have Tobey Mcguire or Kirsten Dunst, they both singed a 3 movie deal and both might be walking after this one, even though they are terrible actors and their only success was spiderman.

Whoa its me!

Spidey
Tobey Maguire is the perfect Peter Parker, I think their likeliness is almost scary. Kirsten Dunst is... okay, I guess, not the best actress out there.

Fading-Out
On to an entirely different subject: I hate it when songs end with a fade-out. It feels like at the end of the song the artists ran out of inspiration and out of laziness just decided to end the song by slowly turning down the volume... That's not a preper end to a good song. Yes, I'm talking to you, Pink Floyd.

Tobey Maguire - Wonderboys. It's a big deal I think. Dunst is in lots and lots of films (one which springs to mind is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as does Bring it on...she was in that, right?). Maguire's awesome and was a very good Spiderman...Dunst's shit, but is much more commercially successful.

Either way, it's all opinion.

Nah I don't like Toby Maguire. It would of been cool if he was only ever the bloke in Pleasant ville and then did nothing else :). I like when actors do that, so for example Luke Skywalker to me (as ive not seen anymore Mark Hamill films) IS luke Skywalker. Lord of the Rings was a bit like that at first.

Did any of you used to watch the Spinchter Man cartoon..? Well here it is on TV links. I thought that program was quality when I was a little bit younger. Would of never read a Spiderman comic or anything since im in England, so that is spiderman to me defined. I much prefer that to the movies.

Man do any of you just ever step back and think.. wait a minute. IM literally discussing & debating Spiderman on an Internet forum.. Uh oh.

And yeah a chip shop is a place that sells Fish n chips. Thats the real shop name a 'fish and chip shop'.

That was a cool picture you posted btw JMTB. I still need to take a picture of that graffiti :)

Tobey Mcguire is really good as a Peter Parker, they could've got a better Mary Jane though.

I think they should have gone the same way the comics went and had that Gwen Stacy girl that Peter Parker used to date and who hated Spiderman but loved Peter and got killed eventually by the Green Goblin. I prefer a lot of bitterness in my movies than happy endings.

Other than that I have only ever seen the first Spiderman movie and I was totally drunk and we got there late and I can't say I was paying much attention, so I don't remember it that well. I've heard that the other ones are good, but being a practical shut in I don't see a lot of movies.

Also; Venom is a kick ass character in Marvel Vs. Capcom and Spiderman just sucks.

Superheros

My favorite is probably spiderman as well. Just because he's more relatable. Super man is an alien and batman is in severe need of anti-depressants. In all I think Spiderman is just a really human, believable character. He acutally has a life as well and its nice to see the struggle between maintaining is RL and his SL (super life?)

Over Collaborated?

Sorry for the double post but I just had a sudden urge to bring this up. On a page of 30 threads, 13 of them are collabs. That is almost half of the threads here just being collabs. I think thats 12 too many. I remember when the first collab came out. Don't quite remember what it was but it was the only one out at the time. And I remember thinking, wow, you have to have some skill to get into that. Now when I look at it, there's kids out there with lolipops and a dozen posts taking part in collabs. And no offense, I don't have a BA I know, but 3.0 isn't that hard to achieve, being as 3 is just above average. I think 3.5+ would be a better target. Or something closer to 4, just so that there won't be so many onery kids out there putting together collabs. Yes some are hosted by talented, but for the majority all I see is crappy, badly put together collabs. Originality has even been sacrificed, as I've seen so many collabs just do the same thing over and over.

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2007-05-21 14:33:52

Over Collaborated?

Were you here when there weren't any collab rules? Now THAT was bad.

But, actually I agree, the rules should be tightened up, especially since the old rules are now outdated with the new BA rules.

The thing that botheres me the most is collabs that are just like every other collab. Yay, here's a music video to some crappy song. They don't stretch it out into something more meaningful. I know I shouldn't be talking because I started a collab and couldn't handle it, but still, the lack of originality with most of them is rather stomach-churning.

Re:collabs

Nah I don't agree with the two of you, I think that the collab amount as it is at the moment is alright. I dont think the BA is to low a target either. Firstly on why there's almost half a page of collabs - maybe just since it's a little slow right now on people needing help. Ive noticed ive not had to type out lots recently, instead just post in threads like this one. Has anyone else noticed less help topics recently or is that just me?

But the reason I dont think the BA is to low and why I am cool with collabs being about is that collabs are a nice way to get started. They are fun to post in and build up your own little circle of people in it - especially when youve just started. For example I remember the 10 year collab myself, Altered Reality, and Don't Panic.

And also, I think id much rather see threads come about where we are all getting together and animating rather than us all just sat about in here talking with the Lord Sonic. Is there any reason you lot don't like collabs being about to much? Personally I can just zone them out anyway and not even think of them.

Carnage was the shit, but he was more an an anti-hero.
Carnage>Venom>Spiderman. Sadly, since they completely eradicated Venom
in the new Spiderman movie (which was shit, Emo Parker lolz), there
won't be a chance for any of the other venoms or Carnage unless they
completely pull some bullshit out of their asses like "Well, a little
peice survived and it replicated blah blah blah".

Still, Carnage is the shit.

As far as animating Carnage, XtremelyVenomous (The KK Kiler guy) is
using Carnage briefly for his part in AFD6.

Speaking of that, Luis, are you still interested in doing a part for it?
