Moooooooose

Rawr. Happy B-day.

Future jobs

How about a job wheree you don't have to do a damned thing? That is the first thing that pops into my head, but....I dunno, never thought about it...

Rock on

I have one idea that has massive potential if pulled off right but what worries me is that it isn't much rock-centered such as DDR type games but instead it's something that would just deliver a roundhouse kick on any other time....

RE: Dream Job

Professional poker player. I play poker online and I make a pretty good amount. Not enough yet to quit my job but enough to pay all my bills. Just waiting till I turn 21 to actually be able to play at a casino.

Dream Job

I have always wanted to do game scenario for video games, but most of all I'd like to be a pimp.

But I'm stuck with accounting...

WoW

Pretty off-topic, but this one video game has eaten up all of my free time. I never feel like doing flash or making songs anymore, all because I need to get my guy to level 70 asap. What the hell. Why am I so freaking addicted?

this also explains my un-noticed absence from the flash forum

It truely depends. I've lost some large pots but I've never had a losing week, month, year, etc...

I got bored last weekend and sat at a 25 cent/50 cent table with $20 within 2 hours I had $150 thats when I got up. I called a guys all in for $50 the day before that with pocket aces he flipped over pocket kings and caught a king. I had a $1.30 left but made all my money back from that in an hour and a half. I love poker I think it's the greatest game.

E-crack. No really, it is. Video gaming has been proved to be addicting, especially in games like WoW where the depth is rich and goals are clear. My recommendation is to limit your gameplay to an hour or two a day. Setting limits for yourself sucks, but it means you have self-control.

No one's told you that the game's only a third done when you reach the level cap, huh?

Even before they bumped the level cap up, it was still a case of raiding for your Endgame Content. And you'll only just be getting started with Outland by then...

Gap Year

What the fuck is a gap year? It sounds like some made up corporate holiday, that lasts an entire year, devoted to The Gap. Just the idea of such a thing existing makes me sick.

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2007-05-08 18:38:28

WoW

I played it at a friends house, not properly but it seemed extremely boring in the travelling and fighting aspect. They did some PvP as well which they said you didn't earn any experience from, which I found pretty stupid. My friends whom play WoW where surprised when I said I wouldn't get WoW even if it didn't cost monthly, but I haven't heard them tell me to get it since that.

Really the only games I play online are ones like BF2. I'd rather get taken down by someone with more skill then more experience, doesn't seem as fair imo. Main reason why I love games like RTS's and FPS's, you need a lot of skill to be good but in WoW some of my friends say that it needs skill but the one friend who has a level 70 and is a hardcore gamer says that it barely has any.

Turns Out Godson was that big of a Douche

I'm sure most of you guys saw the post by the man godson has been jacking flashes from. I'd seen alot of people give him shit and I figured he was just a douche, but nope he stole submissions.

I think shit like that just shows how much the flash community has come. For people wanting some sort of respect from it so much they blatantly claim work that isn't theres. Like that stick ninja game that was a stolen, from a game that completely ripped off that other game. That was just hilarious

Rock-Out Contest
I figured I'd go for it seeing as I've been considering buying a 360 and how the prizes aren't the ridiculous 8000 and 5000 as in some other contests I thought I'd have a better shot at placing. My idea pretty planned out and if I make it right, should be a winner.

And as a vow this is the last game I'm going to make in AS2, I have 3 others that have already started, but they're all small even in terms of what I do.

Just got my copy of CS3, so I'm fairly content.

Off Topic, But Still important

Just a quick plug to show your non-supporting nature of congress. the PPA (Poker Players Association) has a "petition" of sorts going around which is meant to hopefully show america's suport that online gambling (sepcifically poker) is infact a legal and non lucked based game.
There's a bill that's attempting to in a sense "outlaw" online gamin by stopping banks from transfering money to gaming sites as well as organizations that fund it. Thought I'd put that otu there, just google it if you're interested

There's a reason for this.

Anyone who's ever done even the tiniest bit of looking into social theory and anything that falls under the "dumb shit that happens" category knows about the 80-20 rule. 80% of the outcome is determined by 20% of the input. Numerous examples exist, for instance, 80% of the land in Italy is owned by the wealthiest 20%.

One of the places it comes up is computer games. 80% of the games will be utterly dominated by the top 20% of players in those games. If you go up against someone in the top fifth of gaming, expect to lose four out of every five matches. Always.

Now there are numerous ways to limit who gets into the top 20%. The first is to make the game entirely skill based. The top fifth who have faster reactions, better Hand-Eye-Coordination and that primal hardcore gaming center will gravitate to the top, leaving everyone else in the mire. That's obvious. That's what most twitch games do.

World of Warcraft and most other MMOs' change this. Instead of being in the top 20 for skill and skill alone, you're up there because you put in more time than the other 80% of the game. Skill comes into it, but ultimately someone so skilled at the game that they could play it in thier sleep will lose if they've not invested the time.

And that's actually quite a fair system. Everyone's got more chance of being up in the top ranks if they spend long enough playing it. It's a shame it utterly, utterly, bites as a game mechanic.

I read a lot of MMO theory and some of this is documented by Raph Koster. Wikipedia him and you'll get a link or two to some of his lectures. The guy's fairly high up in Sony. Other MMO writers to read are Scott Jennings (Lum the Mad) and Ranter Mu.

Talking to Strangers
People talk to me all the time over Xbox Live. It's odd, it doesn't feel quit right talking to someone in person that you've talked to for years over the web. The same goes with seeing pictures of people. It's like, damn! That's a real person. It throws me off, even though I've been on the web for quite a while.

Well I typed out a long thing about how the mistakes of the few should punish the many, but then my internet goes all bullshit and says the server is unavailable on anying.

If you're in the bay area do not get comcast, goes down constantly. Oh well, came to the decision I really wasn't going to change anyones opinions. And I think people are starting to realize being a well off profesional poker player, are about the odds of being a proffesional athlete, dropping out of school thinking your going to make it, is dumb, if you could have you would have found out already.

I never have actually talked to someone I met online through the phone, but seeing pictures does throw me off, like hearing your tutorials ruined the voice I had in my head for you.

Its hotter then hell here, which by my standards is high 80's. Record breaking season in parts of the bay area. Ugh, i miss winter

Yea me and marcus (dude from don't play with fire, his ng name is like something productions...) talked with our mics, his balls haven't dropped yet so he was all squeeky. And same with brainfungus, when I was buds with all those guys then Brainfungus' dad died and everyone of us got depressed and split from number 3, I haven't made a good flash since and brainfungus' site was taken down and he totally disappeared...

Waiting to be legal to have sex, is like waiting to be 21 to drink.
People don't do it

To clarify people don't wait

This really was just a way to get rid of the 666th post, seeing as I have so qualms about that number.

Just a quick question, are there any easy to follow tutorials for dreamweaver. Like adding editable text boxes for easy updating, linking to another page. Seeing as I'd rather not make it in flash

talking to strangers?

Just talking to someone with an IM, e-mail or responding to reviews of my movies freaks me out enough. I'm pretty social-phobic in reality, even though I do have this awesome, totally approachable on-line personality (really). I don't ever think I could meet or talk to anyone from the internet in real life without a box of Xanax. Which is sad because I've made at least one real good friend through the web...
