Thats what I'm going to do. Except I'm a year behind you.
To keep this an open-discussion, what does everyone else plan to do? Go to Uni? Work? And @ you Britishers: what do you think of gap years?
I'd love to go on one, but i'd have to spend the first half of the year working getting enough money to do something interesting in it, and also I'd rather go to uni. I've come up with loads of challenges i've got to try at uni which i can't do at home because my parents would get angry. Like 24 hour drunkness, boil vodka and see if the vapour gets me drunk and beat my record of drunken days in a row (currently at 14).
Next year I shall be going to the School of Oriental and African Studies (unless I can't afford various bits and bobs, in which case I will work for a year and reapply at Cambridge) to study Japanese (I mentioned this recently...)
Cambridge sucks. I'd rather go to a university with a more appealing work to play ratio.
Another thing I want to do one day is go on a road trip around the world. Literally just bringing a few spare clothes, a whole load of money, a whole load of alcohol (for the night, not when driving) and a car.
