Should I stay or go? 2007-05-03 18:49:20

My dad currently lives with his other family over in Italy and I live here in Edinburgh with my mum and bro but recently my dad has suggested I go live with him for a few weeks... or months.

So I can either stay here with my mum and bro, with the PC, internet, Wii, Dreamcast and all my friends or go to Italy and live with my dad, his wife and their son (and the rest of his family) where there is no internet nor Wii nor Dreamcast nor anyone I really know and everyone speaks Italian, which I don't..

obvious choice is to stay here in Scotland but if I stay here I’ll have to sort out uni/collage and a job and shit like that but if I go then I might have to learn Italian, get a job (which would be harder without knowing the language) and stay with my dad and his family who I'm not that close with..

Help me Newgrounds!

You should learn italian before even thinking of living there.

It's a short time. I'd go.

Why the hell not? Bring the damned Wii with ya. Learn some Italian while you're there. Score the hot Italian ass that is in supreme abundance and if you don't, come home and tell your friends that you did.

You'd find it very hard in Italy, why also try and escape the responsibilities of University / College etc. It's time to get that sorted out before looking for an escape that you would probably not consider other than the fact it helps to avoid the decisions you mentioned.

I suggest you sort out the life ahead, then take the time out for a holiday or gap year or what not with your Dad.

Certainly if it's only for a few weeks, but it wouldn't be worth it to do so in the long-term, especially if you're not comitted to learning Italian.

Stay. Learning another lanuage after the age of 9 is increadibly hard, and college will end...
...eventually.

I'd disagree. It's only a few weeks, so he can easily sort things out around it. Turning this down would just be lazy. He wants to go, but he's afraid of leaving his luxuries behind.

I say fuck it. If something new pops up and doesn't really interfere with your life other than to make it more interesting.........just do it.

Even if it sucks, it's better than doing the same old routine.

GO TO ITALY

Basically for me, it would depend on where he lived. If it was a fairly populated area, I would for sure go, because the chances are high there are enough english speaking people there. If it's a cozy little town, or out in the countryside, I would pass.

hah, dreamcast.

If it is only for a couple of weeks, so I think you should go. Sure, you won't have your Wii, Dreamcast, or PC for a while, but it is still only for a few weeks. Besides, if you go and don't have all those things with you, you could always take a Nintendo DS or PSP along with you.

I hear they have great summers, awesome food and start drink wine at the age of thirteen. Plus girls are supposed to be hot there. Also you'd be living for free.

I'd definitely go, to take pictures mostly. But then again I've already travelled a lot in my short life and living far off is daunting, because you're so dependant on others to take you places.

hmm, good poitns for satyign and going..

last time went was only for a week and i was boring as hell, but if i was to saty for like.. 1 month or two i'd probs work and stuff so it'd be less boring i guess..

be a break from the internet,ng,msn, wii, dreamcast and proeper tv aswell..

still unsure..

Go to Italy for fucks sake, Its way better than wasting your life playing video games and posting on the BBS.
Then you will have something nice to remember when you're an old fart.

Stay at home. You worry about getting college sorted out. Would you prefer to get a job in a shop in Italy or go get a degree and get yourself a nice career in something?

You would get a break from the Internet, but if your not fond of your Dads side of the family. Why even bother with all that tension?

Response to Should I stay or go? 2007-05-04 16:58:23

Sounds like if you go there will be trouble, but if you stay there will be double.

You'd be retarded to not go to a beautiful country and try something new for an extremely minuscule part of your life, where as you get back, you can have everything you have had before or done before all your life, and continue to do so for all your life.

How dare you be so boring and skip out on such an opportunity. So much of the trip will make up for the lack of electronical crap you don't need.

Response to Should I stay or go? 2007-05-04 17:04:50

I'd stay, but I guess you could always take language lessons over there and take some of your stuff with you. It all depends on whether you'd want to uproot yourself to a place you will be so lost in.

Release your inner crazy.

I'm Italian, I live in Cremona (a town in Northern Italy, not that big city) but before giving you an advice I'd like to know where would you live if you come here.

(If it's in southern Italy, I'd probably stay where you are.)

Darling you gotta let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
I'll be here 'til the end of time
So you got to let know
Should I stay or should I go?

Always tease tease tease
Siempre - coqetiando y enganyando
You're happy when I'm on my knees
Me arrodilla y estas feliz
One day is fine, next is black
Un dias bien el otro negro
So if you want me off your back
Al rededar en tu espalda
Well come on and let me know
Me tienes que desir
Should I Stay or should I go?
Me debo ir o que darme

Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An' if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know

This indecision's bugging me
Esta undecision me molesta
If you don't want me, set me free
Si no me quieres, librame
Exactly who'm I'm supposed to be
Diga me que tengo ser
Don't you know which clothes even fit me?
?Saves que robas me querda?
Come on and let me know
Me tienes que desir
Should I cool it or should I blow?
?Me debo ir o quedarme?

Should I stay or should I go now?
?Yo me frio o lo sophlo?
If I go there will be trouble
Si me voi - va ver peligro
And if I stay it will be double
Si me quedo es doble
So you gotta let me know
Me tienes que decir
Should I stay or should I go?
?Yo me frio o lo sophlo?

also, you're askingthe bbs for advice that may change your life?
wow.

Stay where you are. Most of Southern Italy is utter shit (By southern I mean everything south of Rome).

Are you nuts? GO TO ITALY. Take awesome opportunities like that when they arise. You can come back to the Wii, internet and Dreamcast. Hell, I'm sure you could manage to scare up some internet there and take yuor consoles if its that big of a deal.

What she said ^^^
It's not like you're going there for the rest of your life. Just an itsy bitsy period. Worst comes to worst, it wasnt the best few weeks of your life, but at least you don't have to wonder for the rest of your life if it was worth sitting on your ass at home instead.

Fucking STAY.

I think it's sad how most of you guys make such a big deal about having consoles or internet, especially consoles. Seriously there are more important factors in this issue than that.
