I think DFox would make a great mod. John is doing a great Job, but another helping hand never hurt :D. Although he isn't around as much as he used to be , which is a shame :(.
RE: Daily 2nd
You just inspired me to make a game :)
Check in the portal in a few hours :D

Just saw it and I wish I could of participated in it, I probably would of done it on paper or something like that.

How much heroine are you talking about? I think a tonne would do good enough, maybe toss in some coke* and weed.
But the Wi/Ht forum suffers questions about how to get Flash. Tom Fulp should change the titles for the forum links to be smaller and have the description twice as big for the first day** somebody visits the forum home, it should make the stickies mandatory to read when you first visit a forum so noobs can't say they didn't know.
*Coca-Cola!
**As in total time they visit that page, which should be a pretty long time, maybe make it some smaller number or do the sticky thing with the forum home.
We really need an attachMovie() on AS:Main. Well... at least I do. :(

we should do somehting like that :)
you know.. aswell as the reg collab we said we'd do last year..
Can anyone be a reg?
I think my title explains it all. Can anyone be a reg just by coming here and posting? It looks like fun and I have lots of views and opinions, blah... blah... blah ;)

I was in the red line but then I changed my name to something much better ;D Shame...

Sounds good, but what would it consist of?

A reg is someone who posts regularly on the forums, and doesn't swing in just for information or help every few months when they need it. If you continually post and make a positive impact on the community here, then yeah, you'll be a reg by default. You don't even need to post in this thread, just be a helpful and thoughtful poster.
Hi there!
new reg :D?

to be a reg you must regularly be seen actively posting on the flash forum :)
so.. maybe.. :)

However, I don't see any way of getting the logistics right for that.
What with not being able to fold over a .fla n' all.
we did that once back in primary school :) it was silly :P
Reg-line could be kinda like.. we get an image that we must use at the begining and end of our little animation segment.. :)
could well be our reg collab :)
Reg Line
Ha, sounds like a fun idea to do. Just a dumb idea, but for some reason when I heard "reg line" I thought just an extremely long line of people that are waiting to get on a ride or something. And then each person draws a segment of the line and they can put whatever they want in it, would be fun to see what some people come up with. Just an idea.
RE: Reg Line
That sounds a great idea, someone could draw a picture of a person standing by a bus stop then someone draws a character (themselves) by them and it goes on and on thus creating a reg line.
That would be interesting ;)
What a good looking mirror.

That's awsome, you should do that again it looks great, you could do it so it zooms into every characters face and has the person who drew thems name.

just for a laugh, why not have everyone take part in a pass the flash?
I'm guessing the demand would outweigh just having one FLA, so say two fla's are passed about, then they are filled in at the middle to get them running.
Who's up for that?
Nothing big, just for the hell of it.
RE: Progs
Heh, I try to keep up with this thread, but I just can't seem to find the time to efficiently, but sooner or later I try to read everything.
So the programming forum, yeah, it's been getting more stuff like that lately. I personally think it's because of growth. I've been around there a while now, and I remember times when there used to be no posts for hours, 1 or 2 people in there, and a lack of newcomers. Over the last few months I think it's been getting more action, and I feel that's why you see people like that. I think the growth is great, but people need to understand with the growth comes people like that (the fuck face guy), and it's inevitable. It made me think when a reg in the programming forum said it was becoming "shittier". I think everyone needs to understand it's growing, and like general, like the flash forum, with the good things the bad things like that will come and there's nothing that can really be done about it.
And thanks for the praise Paranoia and Dep. The thing that really keeps me in the programming forum is the success of PHP main because it shows how people are willing to dedicate their time to helping people, and the regs there have done an EXCELLENT job of spreading PHP: Main to most of the BBS population. I'm fortunate enough to have been doing PHP for probably about 5 years now, so I can answer most of the questions that come along. I just find it cool how James, the programmer for a top 1000 ranked site on the internet can find time to help people in the programming forum, so I feel I could to.

Surely we coud all just work to the same version and downgrade the fla if need be.

Coders animation challenge!
I think it'd be a laugh if we got all of our coders to take part in some sort of animation competition. Just to see the sort of spread of animation ability existing in our scripting community.
And maybe the animators could try a bot war or something :P

I don't think anyone would join :P Sorry. Coding is something you have to take time to learn, whilst art takes time, but is also natural. So all the coders would be shy to do the art, and all the artists would have to spend weeks learning as :P.
Now if you offered a cash prize...
D.

Alright then. $60 PayPal for the best coder-made animation. And I get to submit them in a big compilation type thing.
Animations must be over 20 s long and based around some theme or other.
If I've got anyone's attention now, I might actually do this and start a thread for it :P

That would be aswesome. But i hate animating. What if though, each coder was paired up with an animator, and then we had a week to teach them how to code and make a bot. At the end of the week they have a bot war. I know it will be unfair because some animators know a bit of programming, but it will be funny to watch and interesting to try and be a teacher.
We could try it the other way where the animators teach coders how to animate, but i don't really think you can teach that.
So who's up for a retarded bot war? Each coder gets their own retar... animator to teach for a week.
