Excuse me - these are the guys who put the Taliban against the IRA - I don't think they're worried about hate mail :P
I know. Wasn't that awesome! :p
Mind you, if it was that guarunteed a victory our politicians would have contacted the real IRA, promised them that we'd cede control of NI if they cleared Afghanistan for us, and they'd both nearly eliminate each other, clearing two birds with one stone.

I don't think Charlie Brooker has the personality required to be hosting a panel show. He should stick to sitting on his own on a sofa, shouting at the TV (on camera of course) like his other shows.
I think he handled it well (at least, being more entertaining than most Channel 4 anchors... though when you're up against Justin Lee-Collins and Jimmy Carr that doesn't speak volumes), although you could see clearly he just couldn't take the format seriously.

Unless its someone you know personally, it doesn't affect your life at all and the only one getting hurt is the one who wants to.
Well thats fine in a country with no public healthcare or the lousy Medicaid system you guys get in the States. But in countries like the UK and Canada where there is socialised medicine for practically every procedure, it's in everyone's best interest if everyone is healthy. That way there are less people coughing up cigarette tar in the form of lung cancer, getting heart bypasses from McDonalds and less emergency surgery to attempted suicide victims and more medical resources going towards people who couldn't prevent thier medical problems, and more resources towards helping prevent these "voluntary" conditions happening in the first place.
And on a purely empathic level, you SHOULD hope your fellow man is mentally and physically well.
