The thing I find funny about Jehova witnesses is the way the target "sinners".

I remember when I used to go to gigs at the Astoria in London, every time this one guy would make his way down the long queue of metalheads outside the venue, preaching one by one about how heavy metal is evil and jesus is our saviour... It made that queue so much more entertaining!

Everyone knows Dave the Preacher. Used to carry a megaphone, looked like a tramp.

Yeah i agree with that, but i like the way this is a no compromise system, wii has motion, but shitty power, 360 has full body tracking, but lag and not accurate, this seems to nail it all, accurate, lots of power left for proper games, good graphics and not as gimicky as the wii. If i am going to flail around like an idiot i may as well flail using some clever tech :P.

Toenails

Probably the best topic the flash lounge has ever seen. I no longer have any big toenails. I went in to get one done but I thought I might as well make them match, now it hurts like hell though.

As for the PSwii thing, to me the wii controls just werent fun for serious games, they offered no benefit over button controls apart from I couldnt get it to what I wanted it to do like 1/10 of the time. Buttons are the future.

Anyone seen the Lionhead Milo demo? That would have been so cool if it were just as natural as they make it look like it is. Just another Molyneux hoax though.

Not true in my case I'd say.
I love to think things over and so do a lot of the Christians i know.
It's important to think things over and not just have answers without thought. It's unhealthy in all aspects of life.

I am an atheist, but a respectful one. Believe whatever you like, just extend me the same courtesy.

There's a bumper sticker I really like that reads...

"Keep your God out my classroom, and I won't think in your Church."

:D

I think it's "Don't pray in my school and I won't think in your church"

As for respect, I don't want to respect organisations that protest against scientific research, delay video game releases, and cause endless political mess (ie: religious jews in south israel who refuse to make peace, muslims starting to go crazy whenever someone draws mohammed, etc.)

Absolutely Toast. Individual preferences don't scare me, but organizations scare the hell out of me.

Ever seen a Creation Museum? Yikes.

Yeah that looks amazing!

The water bit looked very staged though, not sure to think about this one. We'll see I suppose.

I'm glad I'm not the only one being wary about Molyneux! I was totally unimpressed with the Natal bit, the only intriguing part was Milo and even that I was very cautious about.

The PS3 one at first I was "oh god no" then after I saw it I was impressed, though it's still going to be gimmicky, it has more potential.

Speech recognition on Vista is laughably awful.

The first behind-closed-doors reviews kind of confirm what I feared. The demo they showed on video was part scripted. There are literally billions and billions of dollars pumped into speech recogntion and speech synthesising technology each year. Not a single organisation has gotten it right so far, at least, not to the point where you can have a natural language conversation such as Lionhead demoed.

Body movement and facial recognition is a completely different story altogether. This is also a field where only recently lots and lots of investments are being made. I fail to understand how a relatively small-time company such as Lionhead would be able to succesfully combine all these three things. With only one 100$(?) peripheral and a gaming console. Probably they only programmed certain speach paths, with part pre-recorded lines. Molyneux, although he is a genius, is pretty well-known for making bold statements, and not living up to them.

During one behind closed doors session with the 'game' Milo actually said to the reporter that he was wearing a nice blue shirt (he was wearing a blue shirt). So stuff like that is pretty awesome, and it's still an interesting bit of tech. But meh, not as impressive as they make it look like...

Are you kidding? The water bit was the only part NOT staged... cause I've seen that effect done with flash and a webcam before.

That's because Molyneux's job is "idea guy". I have a professor who use to work there, or did contract work for them or something, and he said that molyneux pops in and spews out ideas, then the development team ignores him and keeps working on more rational things.

Yeah, ofc. If the whole nails been removed professionally it'll heal over like hard skin and it doesnt look too bad. If you did a DIY job like I did, the same will happen but you have to care for it more.

It was really out of pain I removed mine, one i caught in a door and the other i damaged playing football and they would pull back on socks and stuff. I booked an appointment with a nail specialist but he never got back to me so I just did it myself.

One thing to look out for is nail infections, leave it for a day or two with a plaster on and then open the "wound" or nail area and it'll bleed itself out - painful shit.

A great way to keep nails strong is Vaseline every night, the one on my left big toe is growing back and its working great.

Long post.

Stuff like this needs to be discussed. It's important.

What makes religion the "truth" about how the universe works? It's possible that it is the truth, of course, but what makes you think that religion is the truth?

When someone doesn't believe in god its not because they feel like they are special. Its because they simply don't believe in god. Personally, there is no evidence that god exists so I don't believe in god. I need evidence and logic to believe something. I'm not going against the crowd just to go against the crowd, I'm doing it because thats what I believe.

This goes back to...Why is it important? If I don't believe in god, why would you need to talk to me about it? It's my personal belief, it doesn't affect you at all, so why do you care? Thats like if there were atheists holding up signs that say "Fuck god!" If a religious person saw that, what would they do? Probably freak out. Same thing for atheists, when we see someone holding up a sign saying we HAVE to love jesus, we get annoyed.

In my opinion, religion is just stupid. A long time ago, a big dude in the sky sent a normal dude on earth. The normal dude did some magical shit. Worship him.

Yeah i know the effects werent particulary amazing and that kind of interaction is basic with a webcam, but it just looked fake and shitty to me, the "reflection" of the woman looked totally out of time to her actual movements.

Ya but shitty =/= fake, in fact most of the time the shittiest parts are the parts that are actually real. Besides like, the water one was apparently on the show floor, and the kid supposedly rushes you to the water part after telling you the color of your shirt, most likely because the entire thing is crappy, so they want to show you the one working part first.

You got it all wrong, it's not just "possible" that religion is true, it's certain. The flying spaghetti monster has showed himself to us earthlings countless times (for example in his invisible landing in Paris, his phone call to the president of Uzbekistan, and numerous other occasions), we cannot deny his existence anymore. If you do not worship his Glory, you will be shown no mercy on judgement day.

seriously though, you must have misread something because paranoia never said religion is the truth.

It wasn't just some normal guy, it was jesus, man, jesus! he could turn water into blood, do you realise how powerful he was? Not even the biggest army in the world could defeat a man who can turn water into blood.

That, or some fine 21-years old whiskey, would have made the Bible a lot more sophisticated.
