Sorry for double posting, but I just found out something.

My mom died. She was 46.

Don't ask why I'm on here, or even why I posted this in the EGB thread, just thought I should, I dunno what else to do at the moment.

Obviously I'm pretty upset, but I'm not that sad really. We weren't that close. She has had a really bad alcohol addiction for years now, so bad she moved out 2 years ago on a court order. I hadn't spoken to her in a few weeks either. To be honest, I saw this coming for a while, the way she drank, no one could keep it up. Eventually it caught up with her.

The timing is pretty awful. Tomorrow I gotta enroll and register in college, so whether I like it or not I have to go out there for 5-6 hours to meet my faculty adviser, get my class timetable, and all that. Plus my little brother only started secondary school last week. I'm more upset by worrying how it'll affect him than by the death itself, weird as it may sound.

In case you are worried for me, don't be, I'll be alright. In another way it's kinda good to have closure. My dad and everyone else has spend the last decade trying to help her, but at the end of the day she didn't wanna be helped.

I can totally understand why you would post about it here as well, as weird as it may seem- it is often easier to talk about it with people who have no emotional connection themselves, and talking about it is something everyone needs to do sooner or later.

My friend died a couple days ago so I have some what of an idea of what you are going through :(. But all we can do is be strong and wait for the sorrow to pass because I am sure they would not want you to be sad over them for too long.

Also, NEVR? Why wasn't I put on the roster after reaching Private rank this last week? I mean, I can understand if you didn't want to put Guardsmen, at the Police ranks, on the roster, however I finally breached the rank of eligibility for EGB membership this week, and looking at the roster I kinda feel left out that my name's not on there.

Did you ask for formal membership? I didn't see Slash confirming your place. Even though you were a Guardsman, your entry isn't automatic one your gain the rank of Private. You still need the approval of the recruitment officer.

Well, 350 up on phantom is a nice number. But now I'm 150 back on Heaven, and he seems to be gaining speed. But I think, if I try, I can pass him in 3-4 weeks, depending on his pace. No more than 5.

And Pinoy, you're killing me. 575 back, and you pick up speed.

It's actually quite sad and boring I now have no more EGB competition. The only person with some chance of catching up, seems to be Coop, who is sadly just over 17 thousand points away.

Thanks, glad you thought so. It does suck, but I figured it was best to quit whilst I was ahead. I still intend to stick around the EGB for the time being, especially considering things are looking up around here of late.
