I'm not as angry, as I used to do almost the same thing when I was new at B/P'ing. Just try to be more fair...one way to do that is to be more liberal with 1's when you blam things. If someone put effort into their flash, but it doesn't seem portal worthy, give them a one. And for portal-worthy flashes, don't just give a five, give what you think they deserve. The concept of "by giving it a five, I'm giving it the biggest boost I can" is really flawed...remember that over 200 people vote on an UJ flash. And the average VP is NOT only 1. The difference in flash's score from you giving it a 5 instead of a 4 is insignificant, and in terms of deciding between protection and blammage, it's damn near zero. Just vote what you honestly feel it deserves. Like I said, I used to use almost the same system you do, and honestly, you don't get points any faster that way.
You don't have to resign the NGPD or anything. Just work on it, and I'll forgive ya easily. :salute:

i won't lie. i did the same when i just started out too. i just watched about half and then voted. normally it worked but then i saw the flashes that show half good and then switched to complete crap. that's when i watched the whole flash and then voted.

No, I watch the whole movie. If I think it has any shred of goodness at all, i will give it a high vote, just to get it through the portal. If I see it again, I will vote differently, now that it is safe. I have given many reveiws to flashes I have given 0's and 1's, trying to tell them what is helpful. I have generally tried to be a good ng member, but my best just isn't good enough.

how does my voting style let underserving flash into the portal? I have a few decimal points more voting power then some others, and if I vote 5 on a movie, it is only because I think it deserves to be in the portal. If I see it again, I would vote differently probably.

how does it not help the portal? I only vote 0 on flashes that I think the author put almost no effort into. I do vote 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 sometimes.

I saw no need to post about how i have changed my voting stlye. I have done that, but why, after already being ridiculed about one post about my voting stlye, shoudl I post another? I think many of you are still wrong footed about my old voting stlye. You seem to think that unless I think it will get a 4.00 + rating, I give it a 0. I am sorry you think that, but it is not the case at all.

You have also said many times how my voting stlye is selfish, only concerned about my points. One only has to read my bbs posts to see that I try to help out people, and I am not a "Sterotypical asshole who is only concerned about himself". Don't we all want more blam and protect points?

Eaglerock, you may be able to average 100 a day, but I can not. I have school, homework, I do volunteer work at community centers, I can only spare so much time to post on the bbs and protect the portal.

No UJ flashes at all in the portal. Everything is going along slowly. Just a recomandation, we should probably switch to like DEFCON 5.

well, thats up to eaglerock. The portal is indeed slow, i keep refreshing the page hoping to see a uj flash. as soon as one appears, every single portaal browser will rush to it, so its score will be different then if it was at defcon 2 or 3.
