I've been flagging a lot of art submissions for that specific reason and my whistle hasn't upgraded in a long time.
I don't think so.

This is tiring
I'm glad he's not reuploading that same 6 second clip anymore but now he's trying out a new crime: duplicate reuploads.

Uploads, or re-uploads? He should be blocked. Lemme check.

Correct flags increase, incorrect flags decrease.
I've been flagging a lot of art submissions for that specific reason and my whistle hasn't upgraded in a long time.
It's designed to take a long while. No one would care if the next level could be earned with, say 10 flags. That's why everyone should be cognizant of how many items they post. Kind of annoying when other people are gaining rank based on your posts and you doing all the work, y'know? (insert username link...no, better not) Keep at it. ;)

Wait, you're saying that someone with a username of "farthead" submitted crap? Certainly it can't be so! D:

Yeah sorry. Duplicate uploads. I misspoke there.

I can confirm on that - it took me the better half of 2023 to reach Deity. Keep at it, Czy.
Reckon this one falls under "do not submit stuff that's merely set to a visualizer or a recording of your music project timeline." It's mostly a case of the later, but it also has some live action images / video as well and no real animation production. What do y'all think?
EDIT: Found it uploaded on tiktok over a year ago. So stolen.
'cuse the double post. Rechecked the portal tonight (or this morning depending on where you are) during my annual depositing, and found something new.
Gameplay footage of either SUPERHOT, or some a clone of it.

Yeah, we're on it, waiting on ban request.
To all & sundry. Let it be known that from this day forward, our illustrious Leader has stated that 'GoAnimate' stuff is now on the chopping board for Flagging.

I can assume they're classified as "shovelware" under Movie Guidelines. I'd imagine making something even halfway decent would be difficult, if not impossible.
Tools such as GMod or 3D Movie Maker along with third party assets have generally been allowed, however one of our goals is to avoid shovelware, so low-effort entries made with third party assets may be removed. We want people to share meaningful (even if silly or stupid) work, vs bulk uploads for promotional or spamming purposes.

Shovelware, spam. crap, using 3rd party assests, call it what you will, just feel free to Flag them.

Here's one!, or is it?
This says it's made with FlashThemes. I think this is also covered, but I'm not sure?
If so, I know there's a backlog of "shovelware" yet to be wiped, including from the same author

That's fine to Flag.
Don't go searching for old stuff though. It starts from today. I know where there a ton of them too but what already exists is free to live on. Unfortunately.
Yes, sir! Thank you for the update @gamejunkie
I will watch out for future GoAnimate submissions.
It says the game is blocked by THIS WEBSITE, and it tells you to click a link to play it somewhere else.

Yeah, but I have to put an asterisk on flagging GoAnimate submissions.
This is because while yes, Grounded videos are EXTREMELY repetitive, for example: "Oh! X, how dare you Y! That's it! You are grounded..." but this is more of a choice you make rather than the software doing that. I've elaborated this more on a BBS post about this, but to make something short for people who didn't care to click on the link, a lot of people assume that GoAnimate/FlashThemes/Wrapper Offline (They're basically the same thing, they recreate the use of making GoAnimate videos back in 2018 or so.) are basically repetitive and share too much things alike, but these don't represent what GoAnimate CAN do. Of course, I'm not going to say "GoAnimate is better than Flash!" but the thing is that to make these videos as say MMD meme videos (You know, "I'm at SOUP!") is ridiculous because unlike MMD where you can edit in a very detailed manner and also motion files (Basically contains animation data for a model to follow by.), GoAnimate is animation for people who can't animate, meaning that no, you can't just copy and paste video templates easily. I mean, sure... FlashThemes lets you make videos with templates, but unless you actively use FlashThemes enough to know which one uses said templates, you're not going to know which one is ACTUAL shovelware. And no, you can just cut out the "Made with FlashThemes" because they can just use their video editing to just cut the thing out and not even FlashTheme's TOS says ANYTHING about it, plus they're basically the same thing, so it's impossible to tell whether or not this was made in either GoAnimate, FlashThemes, Wrapper Offline, or any software similar to it. I mean, for granted, you can, but that would require linking to another video if you needed to prove that the video's a modified version of that video. You can import and export almost ANYTHING, like character assets, sound files, objects, but who the hell is going to find every submission that is a modified version of something?

I already made it perfectly clear in a previous post, don't go look for a Flagging old stuff, if it already exists it gets to stay. Only Flag stuff that is submitted from today onwards, I will clear all those that you just Flagged.

I'll keep that in mind!
if go animate is on the chopping block, does that mean "the use of third party programs to create (easy mode) animations"
would that mean that these other programs are also on the same chopping block?

animaker
powtoon
animatron
OH PLEASE...PLEASE SAY YES TO plotagon
vyond
explaindio
I suspect they will all end up on the same chopping block someday, given they all limit one's creativity in similar ways and can be easily abused to flood the Portal with low-effort Content(tm)
Given Animaker's heavy focus on AI in its marketing, I'm putting my money on that program getting the banhammer next.

Attention peeps, do NOT go on a flagging binge! SFM, Gmod, Gatcha have not been allowed in the Art Portal because they are not assets created by the user. These have never been restricted from the video Portal. Yes, there are many crappy submissions, but there are some good ones. It depends on who submits it. That's why we have the ability to vote and blam. It's just that sometimes, Newgrounds suck at making good voting decisions. Forget I said that. Anyway...
I don't want everyone flagging and then getting dinged, so hold up for a bit. Discussions among the moderators and admins are not complete yet. We'll fill you in when things are decided.

Sorry, what's to explain?
The EGB is for reporting Movies & Games, so I expected everyone would understand that Flagging of GoAnimate stuff here applied to Movies.
I guess I could have made that clearer, my apologies.
But this was Tom's comment re: GoAnimate Movies.
'I struggle with these a bit but I don't know if I've ever seen a particularly good GoAnimate movie... It's probably best to just remove those. GMod still has potential for quality works, depending on who is using it.'
Just don't go searching out old GoAnimate submissions, the new policy started yesterday so it only counts for submissions uploaded from yesterday onwards. DO NOT go on a Flagging spree on old content.

Gine TF which is an animation named Gine Ozaru by Piterkai. It's locked behind a Patreon paywall, but there's also teasers on the creator's DeviantArt. Here's some links for reference:
Unrelated to my report here and it isn't my intention to fire shots at any authority here (I keep my anarchistic behavior here to a minimum if I can help it), but I feel like the whole approach to revealing the new criteria surrounding GoAnimate could have been done a lot better.
Rather than just a simple announcement, follow up responses to user questions, and having to point out the obvious and stating it isn't open season on that medium as of yet, I feel like y'all should have waited until the said discussions regarding this have concluded and everyone was on the same page. Because to me it just seems like there's a bit of minor disarray going on with.
Then from there doing a big, organized post containing all the information and criteria that was important to the case at hand.
... I guess it isn't the biggest deal ever, but if we're trying to keep an organized thing going on that's just my two cents... and what I would have done personally.
I will remind everyone that things posted to the EGB are based on the realm of inquiry first and flag second. It has always been this way, it will ALWAYS be this way
The movie guidelines have not changed yet to include descriptions about (easy mode) animation programs, if you get dinged for false flags then that's on you
The EGB is for content based on the movies and games portal.... Not the art portal, not the bbs, not the review space, not the audio portal, not user pages, not CNN, not your fridge... Movies and games portals
I realllllly don't understand why people would go to the art portal and start flagging things based on exedor's comments, from something they read here
Comments and critiques of ANY EGB member are discouraged, this is our club, we have a proven track record. Don't like it? click the little X square in the top right of the screen and go enjoy something else for a while
