God it's slow as hell. The portal, our thread, everything is slow as hell. Though I do believe that everyone is gearing up for Clock Day this saturday and busy making their flashes, thus it's the calm before the storm. Ugh, it's gonna be a mess.

Hey perfect-insanity and welcome back to the EGB! Your name sounds so familiar, it isn't even funny. I could have sworn we've met before but I can't put my finger on it exactly...
Maybe I'm going insane, but there was something about your name.

Hey Supra, I noticed your name now that you mentioned it I recognize you too, so I did some snooping and we were both in the old disturbed crew, you could also be confusing me for Disturbed's Perfect Insanity song btw, and I was in the EGB for a tick before my internet cut out so you could know me from there, also the Review Request Club or NGPD, any of these ringing bells for you? Could also be that your mind is failing you and you do not know me in any way
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Welcome back, perfect insanity! It's been such a long time :)
Oh, those were the good ol' times. Now I don't B/P that much, I watch some under judgment submissions every now and then but that's it (in the last -monthly- roster I only got 66 B/P). Also, I will be having some extra activities in the afternoon in a near future, and there won't be too much free time in my schedule after it).
lol, I remember that I was always the top B/P gainer while I was on the NGPD, now my pace is so slow...
Ahh, perfect-insanity, welcome to the mayhem.

Cobie, you're on my list too ooo ooo.
I was wondering if anyone thinks it would be a nice idea for us to set up an IRC chat for the EGB peeps so we can chat in real time instead of having to refresh this thread and possibly spam it up.
I made one on Dalnet, channel #EGB, will be staying on tonight and as long as I can keep my eyes open.
Server: dalnet , channel #EGB. Hop in if'n you want.

GenderlessHooker always came into my chat when I had it up and running. Actually the entire DD came into my chat, but I never kicked them because well... they were friendly, had fun, made jokes, drew good pictures on the doodle, etc.. Since he hasn't swapped it in awhile you should watch it even more closely though. That might exactly be what he was trying to do because people have let their guard down.
Also, a no go on Clock Day for me like usual. I give my account away to Sonofkirk that day and I'll be doing the dinner, movie, and shopping thing with my girlfriend because it's our 5 year anniversary on clock day. I didn't manage to make her a flash this year because I hadn't had the time or patience to do one like I did before, but I do have 2 flashes ready for Clock Day. :)

Already did my part in 2007, I have no intention to download another free trial to make 4 spam flashes again (although it's actually 5...)

And by tonight of course I mean tomorrow night.

Congrats man! That is quite the accomplishment!
I know I'm not yet an official member of this club here. And I won't be posting on a regular basis until I reach my level of at least Private. But anyway, Just a quick few opinions.
Does anyone have a particularly bad feeling about tomorrow being the biggest Spam fest of a Clock Day we have ever witnessed? I mean, I've been around for plenty, But its never normally this wierd around here beforehand.

And there it is. The person that I would have beaten 3 days ago or so if I was on something a bit faster than dial up. :P
Congrats man. Not only on being the next Supreme Commander, but also for being the very first 07 user to reach the position. *Looks at rankings* Yep, I'll be there after Clock Day as long as Sonofkirk votes on about 100 movies or so. So I'll be right behind you. Good job.

Ah, that would be it! I forgot about the old disturbed crew ever since it became something so horrible, that I abandoned it without a second thought. And yes, every time I read your name, Disturbed's Perfect Insanity starts playing in my head (Both versions, they alternate :P) I haven't stepped foot in the NGPD or Review Request Club so that's ruled out. By the way, your name is after Disturbed's track, isn't it? Given that you visited the Disturbed crew, and have full knowledge that they published a track under the same title name, there's no other explanation for it. So, which one do you like better, the original one, or the remix on the album, Indestructible? :D

Simple,
1. they forgot to adjust their clocks for daylight savings time
-or-
2. They live in Australia
-or-
3. ClockDay is on the 14th. Today.

Interesting story LOL...
The dawn of the end is soon near...
Indeed, with Clock Day less than twelve hours away, all available Barracks members should be making preparations.
On the topic of B/P points, even a short hour-long run can net you more than fifty points, even if you're voting reasonably. On the other hand, it'll hurt your B/P ratio, but don't worry---with enough B/P'ing, that lopsidedness disappears. I've gone through three Clock Days, getting anywhere from 500 to 800 points each time, and yet my B/P ratio doesn't show it because of the sheer amount of "normal" B/P'ing I've done.
On the topic of abuse, there's a special Clock Day reporting thread set up in our forums. Suspected cases of whistleworthy flash should be reported there for later inspection. Don't feel disheartened if it passes---if it's really rulebreaking, it'll be taken care of eventually.
Bad news is that fileswaps are very likely to pass unnoticed. Good news is that fileswaps are very likely to pass unnoticed. :-P
So yes, everyone, PREPARE YOURSELVES. And if it's your first Clock Day, REALLY PREPARE YOURSELF, and try to limit your save-intake to only mildly insane levels. No one in the EGB will be punished for getting huge hauls of saves on this official NG holiday, but I still encourage a basic level of discretion. As always, watch the flashes (don't just vote without watching). And remember, you get a protect point from voting a 2-5 on a flash that passes, so you don't have to vote five on everything and help skew the scores any more than they already will be...
Alas, I won't be submitting a Clock Day flash this year. Hopefully, by this time next year, I'll have a mic and be able to make an epic masterpiece.
Hey guys, Tails here wishing you all the best for the impending, biblical proportioned cataclysm we know and love as Clock Day! I'll see you guys at the portal. Good luck, gentlemen.
*salute*
you guys still do that right?
Happily ETS'd.
I am really looking forward to tomorrows Clock day I love Clocks which is not a secret all hail B SBC king of the portal! I hope to gain a decent amount of either saves or blams, as you know blams on Clock day are nearly impossible. I gained 35 b/p last year. I doubt my ratio will be that high. I wish that Clock day was not on Saturday, I tend to be most active in the evening so I will miss a lot of it. Still being five hours ahead of America is handy in some ways. By the way congrats to aldlv.
As it almost Clock day I thought this would be apt.
At 8/14/09 01:57 PM, SlashFirestorm wrote: So yes, everyone, PREPARE YOURSELVES. And if it's your first Clock Day, REALLY PREPARE YOURSELF,
Prepare food that is easy to reheat and eat in front of the computer. If this does mean having to swivel away from the monitor to shovel, then so be it.
Make sure you have a comfortable work station to sit in front of. The key word is ergonomics, as by the end of a 15-18 hour marathon, your neck will be sore. You can take the occasional breaks from the computer for comfort / resupplying and bathroom requirements, but check the portal before you go and as soon as you return.
Finally, remember to keep a steady intake of fluids. I would not recommend high-caffiene energy drinks, like Red Bull, as that will only make you piss more. The same with any carbonated, sugary drinks. Squash, fruit juice or water have the best results, though I will be having a steady stream of tea punctuating my day :P
and try to limit your save-intake to only mildly insane levels. No one in the EGB will be punished for getting huge hauls of saves on this official NG holiday, but I still encourage a basic level of discretion.
Yes, Clock Day does not render the 0 or 1 button completely useless, though if you vote 1 on a flash and get a Blam for your troubles, it will be more by luck than judgement.
I will be striving to make sure that I get at least 1 Blam this year, even if it does cost me several hundred points which inevitably get saved. Points aren't everything and this is not an amnesty that allows all manner of shit through.
As always, watch the flashes (don't just vote without watching). And remember, you get a protect point from voting a 2-5 on a flash that passes, so you don't have to vote five on everything and help skew the scores any more than they already will be...
As Slash said, vote what you think the flash is worth, not what you think it will end up with a score of.
If you feel like leaving reviews, do not make them abusive - I will be watching. Open the link in a new tab and review that way, so that you can still keep an eye on the portal.
At the end of the day, have fun, don't be a douche and share the good flash with the EGB at the end of the day, we always like to see the better stuff. I'll personally be on the lookout for StrangeClock, as he makes some funny stuff ;)

Thank you, Tails. I'll be in it for the long haul as well. It's 21:20 EST, and the portal is still slow. I had figured since it is now officially Saturday on the "other side of the pond" that we might begin to see a surge in activity. I plan on cat-napping on and off all weekend, and between portal patrol and other "real" work, there is a good chance I'll be online 48 hours straight. (Well, the laptop will be - I might nod off here and there). It will be a challenge, as with all Clock days, not to fall into the "oh, what the heck, just vote 5" on everything purple. But a disciplined person will do what's right and vote honestly - and still get plenty of "fair" points. Such is the way with the EGB.
I will see you on the front lines, along with the rest of the barracks. It should be a lot of fun!
*Salutes*
Oh, one minor thing - there are at least three active members of the EGB that are female. May want to check some profiles! But we don't take it personally - it's all good! =D
Oh, I love all this talk about the clock day, it's so exciting! As I said I won't be worrying too much about the points, I'll try to have some fun and watch some cool submissions. Because even if it's a day when many people will submit below-average stuff, some great flashes are submitted too.

Of course we don't take it personally. Even with my sig, I still get male pronoun references.
