We could erase old and locked topics, instead of leaving them scattered on the forums.

It does no good to have those locked topics remain on NG, and they just waste space and resources.

If you go through and delete all locked topics XX years old, you might free up a lot of bytes, and wouldn't need to purchase more bandwith all the time. Kinda like recycling.....turn old locked topics into room for new, intelligent topics.

I mean, we don't keep blammed flash around to eat up space, there's no need to keep old locked topics either.

It could be done a few times a month or something, just have the mods go through "spring cleaning".......

Here two little ideas that i think would make browsing the forums a little easier (please pardon my post if they have been posted before)...

- When going through a post that has multiple pages i think instead of there just being a "first" and "last" button, there should be a "previous" and "next" button...

- When using the search bar there should be an indicator of where the topic searched for is located (like in the general section or the C&C)... I know this might not make the biggest difference, but im sure it would help people when it comes to starting clubs in the C&C and it would help people when it comes to finding a club they want to join...

Small suggestion, on the submit content page you could have a link of Flash Icon submissions.

I know the edit button idea has been given a million times, and countered with you can get out of bans with it. Well I have a solution for that problem. You could implement the edit button, but not be able to erase what you said. Like to add to your post. That way, if someone gets banned for something and there is an edit button, they cant erase what they said. Just use the edit button for adding to the post or pointing out a spelling mistake you made.

I think that was originally my idea, way back in the day.

This was most likey been done before, and I do not have the time or attention span to look back at all 31 pages.

I was wondering, about more levels being added, everyone always talks about it and I wanted to know if there will ever be even the slightest possibity of that (You know, now knowing that I'd be level 23 if the NG exp was back the way it was when it started.)

Even if it's even the most microscopic chance, I thought, perhaps you could make like, 5-20 more levels, and then, everyone's current exp(level 8 and above) would go up to the next level and somehow fix the exp so that that would be the exp you had to gain for that level. I'm not exactly sure how to explain myself since I just woke up a couple minutes ago (PT not Eastern), so, if someone understands what I'm saying, I would hope you could help me out.

I'm not saying to make it extremely easy to level up, it should still take a couple of months, but seriously, it is getting a bit ridiculous, pretty much, if you're level 9 and above, you can only level up 3 times a year, soon it will be two... and then one, that's going to lose a lot of users meng, something does need to be done ;\

You know all those threads which often result in several accounts of 'Use the searchbar next time', well maybe it should be placed at the of the page, so it's easier to find? My guess is a lot of first time BBS users don't even know it's there.

As much as I like that idea myself, I have to note that the Rules are near the top as well, and seem to get little attention from new people. This despite the fact that there is a large "THIS MEANS YOU NEW PEOPLE" sign showcasing it.

How would you measure that? By reviews? Give me a break, half the time any award to do with reviews is rigged by mass reviewing anyway.

How about bringing back the ability to see whether your vote brought up the score or lowered the score of a flash that was under judgement. That's the only way I knew if I helped the flash movies I liked, or how bad I hurt the ones that I hated. It also showed how much my Voting Power really helped.

That would still mean people could get out of trouble by masking expletives etc. A good way to implement an edit button would be to be able to do so once, and for it to be possible to see the orignal post, perhaps via a tab, for the mods and browsers.

It really would be a good combat for spamming, so one way or another, an edit button needs to be implemented.

Why don't we have forum specific search bars? For example, say I want to see if there are any topics about affirmative action in the politics forum. All I would get from the search bar is topics about action script in the flash forum. So I think that in the search bar you should be able to choose which forum to search in or just search in all of them.

Are any of these changes going to be implemented to newgrounds network? and if so how soon would this be?

i'd like to have a comment system in reviews for a movie one like in Livejournal. I sometimes would like to comment a previous review, but if I'd just review the movie, the actuall guy who I want to read the comment wouldn't know this. So, if any admins know of Livejournal, and its comment system, I'd like them to think about it. Of course, sending an e-mail after you get a comment isn't necessary (though that would be cool :D).

What's the thought on including the list of deceased movies that a user has uploaded in their profile? Seems like it might reduce (just a little) the number of bad movies uploaded, if people are forever credited with their bad movies as well as their successes...

I would love a preview post button for multiple reasons:

• When people make ASCII art it won't mess up all bad and stuff.

• In threads with lots of HTML codes they will know beforehand if they mistyped something.

And that's all I could think of at the moment.

It would be nice if a users alphas could be listed in their profile. Including a link to each alpha and listed in order of expected release.

And then in the submission form for the regular flash portal, a checkbox could be added to indicate that the flash movie you are submitting is the completion of one of your alpha listings on the NG Mag, with a pulldown list so you could select which one.

Then after the new movie has been released the record in the alphas section could be linked to it, and maybe moved to a different section. Currently on the alpha page, there are a lot of entries that have already been released. For instance Tom Fulps "Dad 'n Me" is still listed as #7 most anticipated release on the Alpha page, but it was released in July 2005.

Anyways, just a thought...

Letting people use "<pre></pre>" would be helpful for the fixed with ASCII art...

A small idea regarding Aura's.

People could perhaps get a small bonus, depending on what aura they choose.

For example:

Light Auras: 11 exp a day
Neutral Auras: Slight B/P point increase
Dark Auras: Auto EXP deposit

And also, to prevent abuse, Aura's can only be switched once a week, otherwise someone could get 11 exp and more B/P then they should everyday.

I think it would still allow for equel oppertunities because nobody would be allowed more than a certain ammount of EXP and so forth.
