I think it would be nice if it would just say the total number of blams and saves in your profile. So that you could be more lazy and not have to do the addition yourself.

I've got an idea that would improve posting.

On the Post a message pages, a link next to the Subject (IE, RE: Ideas for Newgrounds' Evolution MK2) could be provided that when clicked, opens a new window that contains a simple text layout of the last 30 posts in topic. Furthermore, an ability to add quotes to your post by clicking a simple link would be awesome.

This would prove useful because:

1: Users will not have to go back to check up on others posts.
2: Users can much more easily quote several people.
3: The window can refresh every 30 seconds to show new posts.

Ok, this has been bothering me, ever since the new header got put up.

With the old header we had 8 links.

1. Flashportal
2. audio portal
3. Games
4. toons
5. genres and series
6. Ngmag
7. store
8. mature

The new one also has 8

1. flash portal
2. audio portal
3. games
4. toons
5. collections
6. series
7. mature/forum
8. ng mag

im not sure if you noticed but the 'store' and 'genres and series' buttons are missing. THe store button doesn't bother me, however I loved the genres and series page. The genres and series page links to collections, series, originals, and Assasin. Which brings me to my next point. There are 2 assasin pages!!! 1 and 2!! So yeah I think that should be cleaned up. Also this is the only way you can access the 'originals' page.

Not to mention the Genres and series page itself which has birthdays for submissions, best of yesterday, reviewers choice from yesterday. So yeah with this header change you have cut off this page unless you click the tiny link at the bottom of each page.

This is what I prepose (sp)...

In the header take away the collections and series buttons and instead replace it with a "Hot Content" button which links to the genres and series page. Also if there is room on the header you could put the store button back on. So anyway in the genres and series page aka Hot Content, at the top there would be 2 large hard-to-miss links 'Collections' and 'Series'. Beneath that would be the rest of the genres and series page, best of yesterday, reviewers choice, birthdays etc. I also think the old assasin page should be deleted along with the Originals page. Which should instead be turned into a section in 'collections' which can be updated.

Does this all make sense? I think it would make NG much more easier to navigate

We all remember what happened on Clockday 05 right? The portal went nuts and there were hundreds of UJ flash, all of which was getting through.

As a result, the score increase text was removed on under judgement flash.

I was thinking, maybe as a sort of secret, users with high experience could be granted the ability to see the change, in doing so, mass voting most certainly would still not happen and a much needed new secret would be included.

There absolutely HAS to be a way to blam items in the audio portal - Everyone who gets their first song approved has the ability to submit ANYTHING THAT THEY WANT no matter how bad it is - obviously a lot of crap (in my opinion) is taking up precious Newgrounds space that wouldn't be wasted if the ability to blam was in place.

I think there should be a sports forum aswell rather than mixing it up with general and C&C parts of the BBS.

Firstly though i think it should be given a trail first before fully commiting to it. because if it fails there is no point in having it on. lets say for instance a 6 month trial to see how it goes.

The NG BBS Search bar needs to have a greater contrast to the BBS background.

I figured that new members who miss it ain't just not looking, but they're missing it because it melts together with the background itself.

When using the Magic Wand Tool in Photoshop, with tolerance 15 selected, large parts of the search bar gets selected aswell when you want to select the background.

Instead, there should be a background of some kind with low opacity, just enough to create some contrast there.

I know that you are currently working on a new design, but this might be easy to improve temporary till the new design is made, I don't know for sure, but whether a new design is coming or not, it can be good to keep in mind that contrast is good if you want to bring attention to it.

Yeah, all of that and I think that the search bar should be moved up to right above where the forum categories are, because when I joined, I couldn't find the bar when looking until one day I just ran into it. If its smack in the front of the page, you can't miss it.

Heres an idea from a noob with no idea what hes doing. How about a sound FX selection fom the audio protal for quick and ez access to sound for flash animators.

i have 2 ideas:
1. more topics which are important or helpful should be stickys as in the audio forum no one clicks ont he sticky there to view the important topics...
2.making the search bar at the top of the page instead of the bottom or make it stand out more???

i think it should be possible to download flash kits from the flash portal.
you go into the portal and there is a button saying..."help me make flash" you click on it and it asks if you want to download it.

The time we get a Science & Technology forum before a Sports fourm is the time I'll probably never come back.

one of the reasons the NG BBS is as good as it is, is the small amount and generalness of the topics..
there are sporting clubs in the C&C and other discussion in general.
science and technology can also be disscussed in these forums..
no point having specific forums that would see very little activity.

I think that the news section should be moved up above the featured collections and ads. The featured collections could go to the bottom for better ad exposure, and newbs will see news more clearly.

It won't change the size of the frontpage, it'll just mix it up. Also, the ads WILL get more exposure, as curios noobs or people who want to see the featured collections part will pass above or by it. Plenty of exposure.

Concerning the idea of implementing adverts in signatures: How about during the flash submission page, you tick off a box that allows a random advert to be displayed while the movie loads?

Then you could receive some sort of benefit from there. Perhaps 1 XP for every person (or amount of people) who votes on your film.

Or a similarly small benefit which could add up if more people view the flash.

In order to remove and keep spam from the BBS, I think that a mandatory minimum opening post should be made.

Most spam topics begin with a stupid sentence like "bum secks" and that's it. If you had a minimum character number, that wouldn't be able to begin a topic and the mods wouldn't have to do anything about it. Also, if those people still wanted to try to spam the BBS, they'd have to put in filler. It would be pretty obvious what was filler, being either "huhdefhiuhdiufsh" or "i'm just typing to fill up space because I need a higher count", and the mods could easily identify it, and remove that thread.

I'm not suggesting a high minimum character limit, but something like 100 characters, or maybe 150. This would, hopefully, lead to a (slightly) more intelligent BBS.

I like your idea, I have heard many songs from NG artist, and I always must save it.

A idea is, that you can also see your reviews when you reviewed a audio from someone, not only the reviews you reviewed from the flash.
And for the audio portal, something like the flash portal, but different, a top 50 for each catogory.

Another idea, I don't know if it is a good idea, but make a list from authors who made a flash/audio.
