My suggestions to improve Newgrounds fall under the Review section and have not been listed, according to the first post. It touches on a flash cartoon's review rating of Editing and then Story/Writing. You can read some details at the link below:

It just makes sense that a movie be rated on its story/writing, and then on its editing. If the average viewer has no clue on how to judge these ratings, a help section would be okay.

Apolgies to interupt, but as I was listening to Denvish's audio, I noticed a small error with the button at the bottom, saying "back to listing"

Nomader, there was problem a change made, and something happened to the image code, it's supposed to be;

So a character must of been placed after alt=" , as &lt;- Head back to the listing!" border="0" is what you see. It's fixed now, if not, it's something with your browser.

Members should recieve e-mail notification when their flash/audio goes on front page. Somtimes you can go for ages without noticing. Same could go for BBS user of the day/audio of the week etc...

Just outta curiousity, is there ANY plans to make any new levels?

I think it would be nice that when you go to upload your new sig it has a picture of your current sig... A lot of the time i'll switch computers and it'll still show my old sig so i have to go through all the sig makers threads in the C&C till i find my sig again and then upload it again... If there was a way that when you click BBS Signature Pic in your profile it'll lead you to the same page as it does but include a picture of your current bbs sig....

Idea for newgrounds evolution.....
Update the look of the profiles at least before we all go through an evolution of our own. :P

Or, you know.... You could just hold your control key and press refresh, given that this is a problem with browser cache and nothing to do with the site.

OK, well I've been thinking about this for a while. Since we do have people who like the Audio Portal better than the Flash Portal, we could make it so that you can deposit by voting on audio submissions as well as flash submissions. Or if you like voted on 3 flahses and 2 audios that would work as well. Just a thought.

I was creating a new account as an alt when I noticed something when you try to name the new account. An error came up which said: the username you entered is invalid. It cannot begin or end with a dash or underscore, and you may not put two dash/underscores next to each other. Please go back and try again.

Now I was wondering why this is there, because after you have created your account, you can easily change your user name, and this rule is not there. It seemed odd to limit the amount of names you can pick from when you first sign up, so I was wondering if this is here for a reason. And if not, I think a good idea would be allow users to have names that can begin with dashes, underscores, etc when they first create their account. Hopefully this hasn't been discussed before, but I hadn't seen any mention of it.

You know when you deposit exp, there's a link that pops up saying "click here to deposit ground gold" or something like that. Well I was wondering if it could've be done so that instead of you clicking the link, it takes you automatically to the screen with Pico and the safe. Basically it deposits for you.

I think it should help out the n00bs who overlook the link. And save the rest of us some time.

Okay, my proposed idea is that there should be someone way for users (such as me) to earn missed exp. deposits. I don't know how it would be done, but it would be a great feature if it were to happen.

i think:

we should get exp for voting on audio portal entries, and most of the flash features should be implemented into the audio pages, that would be levelling up much quicker, so maybe 1-8 could be a little harder to achieve, while 10+ could be easier to get.

There should be 'banned' notices

Mods should give you a reason why they have banned you:
'posting four topics in one day' isn't very helpful, because it's not against the rules, but i still got banned, THREE days, by Jos, who i hate now. Mods shouldnt give a shitty reason made up on the spot, and put 'read the BBS rules' at the bottom

The rules should be updated, Muas says she will ban anyone with ban counts in their sig - its not in the rules.

also, there should be some sort of whistle system for flashes that pass judgement, but unlike flashes under judgement, it should be insignificant, maybe in the top corner or something, this could stop the Barney Bunch and others file-swapping, aswell as stolen films that dont get flagged

Look at favorite animation list after 60th slot the st, nd, rd and th are mixed up. I dont know if this as been brought to attention, or liljim even cares but I think it would be easy to fix.

There are many sections of NG that could help to further bring a sense of community and unity to the common user. Each button on NG's navigation brings you to a familiar layout, yet no section feels bound to another. Especially to newcomers, participating in new locales may be a bit overwhelming and foriegn. With such a large community, there may be ways to help new and old users blossom and prosper as one, with adequate balance amongst NG's more celebrated features.

How we can inject the Audio Portal's great collections into the rest of NG:

Easy Listening.
Audio Portal Radio

A small media player that allows you to browse the site (or others) while allowing you to play genres, artists, or a playlist of favorites. Sure, you can download most songs and open them up in a miniscule-sized WinAmp player, but, NG can somehow better the overall unity of all the far corners and happenings of the site, implament adverts, or whatever the fuck.

To further enhance a rather dull BBS experience.
Musical Topics

Gosh, this one is a quite the stretch, but imagine the sheer magnitude of pixelated boredom the usual populace of threads gratuitously provide. Now imagine such a thread scored. Its 100foldsamuraisword better, no?

I'm suggested topic-creators have a small audio-portal media player option inwhich they can select a song from the audio portal's collection for their topic. So upon viewing a topic, the first post will have a suitably placed play/stop button featured at the start of the first post. This can help to enhance recognition of sarcasm, emotion, or hilarity in threads.

Face it, the audio portal needs more light shed upon its blisteringly beautiful collection.
HELL, why not exploit it on the boards. The BBS is already visually attractive and its cosmetic polish with picture uploads, levels, and signatures works well, yet, being able to slap on a 'theme song', if you will, could make browsing and contributing to the BBS an unmatched and refreshing experience.

When a flash wins a portal award such as Review Crew Pick and the author needs to change something of the flash for whatever reason, it should have to get approved by an admin first. This is because a flash like SevenStar is a PedophileX has less than 5000 views and managed to get the flash title changed at midnight having the title "Bahamut7 is a Faggot" on the portal. Having this feature could prevent other abuses as well.

there are many things that could be done to help the site. one there are alot of things on the site that have goten by judgement. i also belive that revamping the profiles would be a good thing. it would also be nice if every now and then some one went and deleted flashes that have sevierly droped in popularity to the point of less than 100 views in a week is an idea

Ditto, it'll stop people abusing the fuck out of the portal by changing to attention whoring names that make everyone vote 0.

Sorry for the double post, but I got an idea.

Many people want to delete their submissions from time to time because they may be old or for personal reasons, but many people do not know how they can get their submission deleted (they don't know about the DeleteAA## thing)

It would help if there was an option to mark your own submission for deletion, under your portal submissions menu, just click a button, input a reason for wanting it deleted and whatever.

If the submission has a portal award they should be able to request a SWF removal maybe and not a deletion, to show that they once earned an award still.

i think you should be able to level up from level 9 - 30 and up at a normal pace like 1-8

Could someone update the bbs search bar? It only allows up to 20 characters when searching for topics, but you can make topic titles up to 35 characters in length.
