New Pokemon generation comin' up. Discuss.

I just got my new DSi but my Platinum doesn't work on it. I'm gonna get a Soul Silver then report back here.

Geez, it HAS been that long already..... Time flies when you're still getting your feet wet in THIS gen - which is what I get for not having a DS until recently. >.< Thank god there isn't another system for Gen V to be put on; it makes things much easier.

As for this 'Z' thing, I just now realized what it could be based off of: It's mammal-like to some extent, but there appears to be a pincer/stinger attached to it. A Pokemon based off a manticore - I would DEFINITELY use that.

Although, now that I look at it again, that could just be a ponytail......

Now, what would you guys like to see from this gen as far as actual Pokemon? Gen IV finally gave lackluster Pokemon needed evos, but there's still several that have been in desperate need of one for some time - Farfetch'd, Dunsparce, Arbok, and the poor bastard Luvdisc come to mind. I also wouldn't mind a slight reduction in Legendaries.......they're starting to outweigh the regulars.

Most importantly, though, would it seriously kill GameFreak to make a Light-type? There's Dark, so why isn't there? And no, NORMAL ISN'T THE COUNTERPART TO DARK, DAMMIT.

Well, gen. 4 had the god of Pokemon. Let's see if gen. 5 can top that.

Anyway, I forgot to mention this.... Pretty much every time I've gone on NG since the blog addition, I go straight to the little Artist's Blog notice thingy on the main page, just for the hell of it. Last week, however, something in particular immediately caught my attention: If any of you caught last weekend's episode of the anime (for those who still watch it), you'll apparently hear the voice of a Newgrounds flash artist. I lost track of his blog, unfortunately, so I'll just go ahead & say it was the Parody Rangers guy. Thank god 4Kids doesn't do it anymore, or he'd be the laughing stock of the community just by association.

To build on my earlier statement, how many of you want GF to finally add a Light-type? It's a popular thing amongst Pokemon fangamers & Fakemon artists, not to mention it's the only plausible idea for a new type that hasn't been done, so why the hell not?

To be honest, the game doesn't really need it. There's a good balance with the metagame as is, so I don't really see the necessity.

Who would believe the idea of a Dragon-type Eeveelution?

Reasoning: It's the only type that hasn't been covered in the "group". If you haven't noticed yet, all of Eevee's evolutions are based on the Special types (Water, Fire, Electric, Dark, Psychic, Ice, Grass) before the split in Gen IV.

Also, in the new Pokemon Ranger game, your partner is a ukelele-toting Pichu. You read that right.

Some confirmation on what I mentioned earlier. Here's hoping PUSA doesn't give him too many shitty lines. And if they do, well, it's only for 5 episodes.

The movies went downhill after the first one, sadly. 2 & 3 weren't bad, but the Deoxys one.....rather sucked. Haven't seen any of the other ones, nor am I really bothered to.

I have a theory that fan-created Pokemon will be the wave of the future when GF starts to run dry; I've seen tons of great quality 'Fakemon' out there, so I have faith that it'd work if it ever became necessary.

Also, because I felt like it, I dug out Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire and am finishing it up while trying to break my high score record of 13 billion.

I got 25 billion from one playthrough before lol. I don't think I ever finished losing all of my lives during that run either...

Lucky you. I've been playing that and Sonic Pinball Party on and off since I got them both in 2003, and in SPP I think I broke 30 bil once.
If I'm lucky/skillful enough, I can carry a pinball game on for weeks.

The Jirachi event has began yesterday. The event will continue until March 13th, the day before HeartGold and SoulSilver come out. Fortunately for me, I just got mine today. :) It knows Draco Meteor and is holding a Liechi Berry when you obtain it.

I'll try & get that Draco Meteor Jirachi this weekend, if possible (and score a free Liechi). Haven't played Platinum in a while (distracted by other games), but I'll start up again eventually. Just a tad discouraging trying to EV train, finding Pokemonz that don't require breeding to have good moves, etc..

Since it's just a regular Shiny Pichu with a special name & coding to unlock an event, it SHOULD become a Shiny Pikachu & Shiny Raichu.

The Spiky-Eared Pichu doesn't, though.

I had XP on my old computer, but it didn't work AT ALL.
It must have been because of our firewall or other security software...

Yeah, I remember having to manually disable my firewall whenever I wanted to do something - a major pain in the arse, that's for sure.
