Low Poly art is essentially 3D art made with a low number of polygons. Some artists make hi-resolution low poly art with smooth edges, while others work with lower resolution, more in the style of PlayStation 1-2 games. Either is fine for this event!
We’re celebrating Low Poly Day with categories for art, movies, games and music, much like we do with Pixel Day each year.
Publish your entry on June 6th and include the "lowpolyday2025" tag to participate in the festivities.
If your work is making its world premier on Low Poly Day, you are eligible for our prize competition! Include a second tag, "lowpolyday2025-compo" to confirm it is a world premier piece and is competing for a prize. If you are sharing something you've already posted elsewhere, stick with just the lowpolyday2025 tag.
If you’ve never shared your work on NG, we’d love to see you join in! You can enter multiple categories or submit multiple entries. You can also team up with friends to make stuff.
Fan art is fine, if the art is your own original work and not models ripped from games.
If you’re making a movie or game, try partnering with a musician on NG! We can’t host content with unlicensed commercial music, so avoid using songs you don’t have permission to use. Here are some music resources.

I gotta say, not a ton of examples came to mind on NG but low poly is great for web games because it’s performant and can download quickly. I’d love to see more people give it a try! Also is this Dad ‘n Me game too high-poly in some cases to be an ideal example?

If anyone needs a Voice Actor for their movie, or game, please let me help out!! I LOVE low poly stuff, I can't wait for this! Heres my demo reel :)
Ayyee nice! Here's hoping it will be as awesome and successful as Pixel Day!
I am working on something, not sure if I'll finish it or if it's even good.
Not a voice actor or anything, but it'd be cool to be a part of something. Let me know if you have a script you want me to read.
How absolutely awesome.
If anyone needs a voice actor for this, I'm there.
This sounds right up my alley!
Question: If I have permission from developers, is it acceptable to submit models I made for a videogame?

It's acceptable to submit models you made for a game but it would be best to not include them in the prize competition, so they are instead just part of the celebration.
It's so cool seeing more artists take on different mediums

It's acceptable to submit models you made for a game but it would be best to not include them in the prize competition, so they are instead just part of the celebration.
Understood! Thank you for the clarification. I was not planning on submitting them for prizes anyway, so it works out well!
Is Blockbench allowed for Low Poly Day (I know this is a stupid question)?
I love the promo banner, its super cute! @violxiv did a great job!

Errr...how is this even remotly low poly? I mean, i get it, "retro songs n shit" but srsly, low poly is a virsual art style, not really a musicial or sound volume thing, it would be the same if you say hard rock looks good on the clothes...
and if we talk game music, what era "are" we talking about? Only like N64/PS1 area (since this would be the said timeline) or chiptunes n like in regular? i mean there is a differ in, i duno

And THIS:
Looks fun, I plan on getting into low-poly modeling, but that'll still have to wait since the music part looks more interesting (and do-able). Would D&B music like these be acceptable?
i made the lowpoli art of ronin
if not alot of low-poligon characters!!!
at first i was sad cause i didnt think i was gonna be able to enter since idk how to 3d model at all but then i remembered the audio portion!!!! so i will try my hand at that i think :3
um.... yheah.... check out my art or whatever. who cares
