What were your reactions to the switch 2 direct?

(Making this now as of April 1st 2025 because when the direct actually happens on April 2nd 2025, I will be in school Halfway through 1st Period)

Those are great ideas... which is why they'll be ignored and replaced with another re-release of super mario 64.

With the obvious giving more info on the console itself and teasing future games on it (like the newest Mario Kart), I hope to see what are some of new characters, items and nitro + retro courses with the hope of seeing Toad Factory in beautiful modern HD.

I just hope it's different enough from Switch 1 to actually warrant a purchase. If it's just Switch 1 but with mouse joycons and more power that will be a huge let down. I'm gonna be honest I don't feel like we are gonna see the next 3D Mario just yet since we do have Mario Kart 9.

Won't be able to watch it live but hey can I skip the boring JRPGs unlike on a live stream.

I really hope they don't get too silly with the gimmicks this time and just...make the Switch but better.

Everything I've seen about it so far seems like exactly what I want. I just hope they don't add needless crap like cameras.

I'm expecting nothing compelling will be announced for the launch lineup but I'm excited to see what the specs are. If the console can run Switch 1 games at improved frame rates and resolutions I will absolutely be sold.

• Paid tech demo is EVIL. Sony bundled the PS5 with Astro's Playroom which had infinitely more soul than whatever that was.
• Upgrading your games to Switch 2 is paid too. They never learn do they.
• Donkey Kong game looks fine but the design doesn't click with me.
• No information about whether Splatoon will be mouse compatible.
• The wheelchair basketball literally made me wheeze out loud.
• Hyrule Warriors TotK is so lame.
• Elden Ring and Cyberpunk on a Nintendo console is so funny.
• Fromsoft exclusive before Bloodborne on PC is EVIL.

Donkey Kong looks really fun, even if I hate the new design. I wonder if the Mario Odyssey team are working on this one? Looks very similar!

Kirby's Air Ride is an 11/10 announcement. Always thought it was better than Mario Kart.

Mario Kart World looks like a miss to me. I didn't like Burnout Paradise because it was open world, this gives me similar feelings of dread.

Gamecube games are neat, but I already own all of them so I'm not paying for it. I also don't play online games so it's not for me either.

It's a pretty good direct. I wish there was more than 2 games I wanted to play, but at least the hardware looks good!

You right, i didn't see mii-karters either, but honestly I never really liked shoving miis into other franchises for the sake of self expression.

Miis have their place in their own games and as mascots, I'd be happy if we grew out of the Wii-Wii U era of dumping them into every party game as an optional character. (While keeping them as mascots for the system itself)
