Ok so I was on the Audio Portal Cleanup thread, and saw a post made by @Quest about a Suno AI song that was frontpaged. It’s now been taken down but it also interested me a little bit since I see a lot of really good artists on here, and they never or barely get frontpaged. But yet some Suno AI track can get frontpaged.

Alternatively you (or someone else) can draw or 3D model this. Sure, AI makes shitposting easy, but there's nothing stopping you from picking up a pen and creating something yourself.

I have reported at least 5 Suno AI songs that made it to the frontpage in the past year. I don't look at the frontpage very often, so there's bound to be some that I missed.
Also, there are probably thousands of AI songs still on the audio portal. On a big AI hunt I did last night, I narrowed my search parameters to the beginning of 2024, and there were plenty of older Suno tracks there. Until something is done to prevent the influx of AI, and the rest of the AP is cleaned out, there is always going to be genAI slop. As for AI songs getting frontpaged, that's a different problem, and boils down to lack of education of what AI sounds like.

As I’ve said AI can be fun, but it should NEVER be used to gain popularity or have you credited, since all you did was type a few sentences, but if you just wanna make a stupid joke or make a stupid image come to life, AI can help a little. Ai must be used responsibly, everyone who posts ai to Newgrounds to get clout isn’t using it responsibly.

This site is one of the few to take a strong stance against AI, so when it slips through the cracks, it's a mistake that can be fixed, not some sign that attitudes are changing.

There's no space here for dorks that want to play devil's advocate, calling it a tool or trying to make it sound harmless. You do the community a service by making them know that they and their slop aren't welcome here.
The upside is that if you're on the lookout for fraudulent content from the automated plagiarism machine, you're likely going to look at or listen to more human art than you would have otherwise.

Am I the only one noticing it's always people with money or sponsors who are telling us that AI music will be the future? I've not listened to a single AI-created song I truly like since the emergence of suno and udio, I think it has something to do with me liking to know that the creator of a song has his own personal history which also becomes part of an ineffable feel of true value for the track.
Everytime someone says he was using AI to create pieces of the song it inevitably becomes nearly inappreciable in my mind, which is interesting because I don't get this feeling when looking at pictures made with AI, only if pictures are obviously supposed to be paintings. Also, I agree with some pictures made with AI being funny but it always seems to be the person using the AI and not the AI itself and the picture also has to be exhibited at a suitable place by that person.

Ai can be used for fun, but many people who use ai just want to do one thing and one thing alone… it’s to do less work in making their projects. Some people are too lazy to make a song on their own, so they get ai to do it for them. That’s also why you’ve probably seen commercials saying like “Now ai can make your chords and bass lines” or whatever, it’s because it’s less work, and it’s disgusting to me that people think it’s ok to just be lazy and go an easier route, the harder route has something we call “soul”. That is why you feel that the song is just unplausible. And about why you don’t feel the same way with ai generated images, well… would you be saying that if you were an art creator rather then a music creator?

This ain’t the first time either for all I know. It also just pisses me off on how I spend hours, sometimes 10s of hours, mixing experimenting, and just trying to make the song sound right… only to come up short. Thankfully if even AI is getting frontpaged, it just shows that maybe I’m just unlucky with mods since they are the reason stuff gets frontpaged. Who knows, maybe I’m a greater musician to others than myself! XD
You’ll get those front pages, no doubt about it. Events like this make me wonder… how many other AI tracks have been featured or racked up tons of listens? For all we know, there could be hundreds that don’t get reported… there are so many AI songs submitted each day, what are the chances we get can rid of ALL of them? Keeps me up at night (not really but still 😅)

Didn't understand this the first time I read it, but you can't pay to get a frontpage, at least to the best of my knowledge. It might be argued that Takeover Tuesday allows people to pay Supporter to frontpage their own art, but that's only one day a week and more of a perk for supporting the site, not a direct payment to get a frontpage. I still really don't like the self promotion and wish that you could only feature others' work on Takeover Tuesday, but for now, it's a feature.
I would be shocked if people are actually paying to get a frontpage.

They won't get in anymore. Because Tom Fulp now knows exactly what this AI sounds like and is unlikely to allow the AI track to get on FP. I'm very sure of that.
but in the case of Udio, everything is ambiguous. It's a fucking powerful AI, if used correctly and handled correctly, it's a very tough weapon to kill all the hopes of aspiring musicians here.
